How to get my TA to get us the best deals?

I am getting a litttle frustrated with our TA. A few guests have found cheaper packages through other TA or buy booking online. We want everyone to book through our TA because if we book so many rooms we get free stuff for the wedding ie: food, and some night free. I talked to my TA about this and i didnt get to far. How do i get her to get us all the best price?

Does she do a price match? The person I am using does that and so does some BDW TAs I believe.

I dealt with this with my TA, but now I understand.

Some of my guest were getting better deals on Expedia and some other online sites. While these folk are going to end up in the same place as us their journey will be different. The cheaper prices did not include a direct flight. Also the guest who booked on these sites had to pay for everything up front. Using the TA let them have flexibility in paying.

When I talked with my TA about it he told me that they can't book on sites like that. (Or they can but it is the same as people doing it themselves).

We also get perks like a persons travel free if we got enough people to book through our TA. We are 2 people away and had 11 people book else where. It really didn't bother me because we were planning on dividing the free travel up and giving a little bit to each guest that booked. It would have saved them around $70 on their trip.

*If prices drop on our trip we do get the better price.

alot of times we can price match or even beat the rate by a bit. i just price match 10 people and beat some of expedia's prices by $20 per reservation so it can happen. things do get tricky when you have more than 10 people because then group rates apply and they can be more expensive (because as airfare books up, rates go up).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
