Moon Dance Cliffs

Recommended Posts

Hi Nicky & Michael

No we did not need a tent.  When we booked it did say that we would.  The hotel really watches the weather very closely.  As I mentioned above the bride that married after us had a rainy day, but they waited to the last min. to set up and it turned out perfect.  We got married on Tuesday and it was perfect weather.  It seems like they keep it on standby just in case it does rain.  I think they would only charge you if it actually rained at the time your reception was scheduled.

We used Sun Gold Photography (Ronald was the photographer along with his assistant Gary) and I highly recommend them.  The pictures are stunning.

My mom surprised us with a videographer named Roxroy and we STILL don't have the video back.  As we don't have the video yet I can't comment on the quality but not having the video yet and its been over 4 months is ridiculous.

We had Sound Illusion for the DJ and he was awesome.  HIGHLY recommend.

We had Front Page Band, the reggae band that Kerry suggested, and they were very good.  They performed for our welcome dinner.

We went with Margaret Myrie for our cake and people are still raving about how good it was.

Floral Fantasies for our flowers were beautiful.  We went with orange orchards so it was pricey but our centerpieces were gorgeous.

PM me if anyone has any questions about vendors or questions in general.

Regarding the tent, we had to get it because we had 39 people.  The purpose is in case of rain.  If it rains and you don't have a tent, they will put you in the hotel lobby.  This happened for our welcome dinner and actually it was fantastic.  But we didn't want to have it there again for the wedding.  So we paid the $500 for the tent but convinced MDC not to put it up.

We lucked out and it didn't rain and we had the wedding on the cliffs at Annies.  Kerry explained that because they rent the tent from an outside company you have to either pay the money or not because the company brings it the morning of the wedding.  We decided to pay it and didn't care that we didn't need it.

I can't say enough wonderful things about MDC.  All of my guests are still talking about how it was the best wedding/vacation they have been to.

Good luck with your planning!

Hi Mocha Hontas

We also used Sun Gold, but we had Paula and Damian.  We were just married so we have not seen the pictures yet… But they were a dream to work with.  We were a very non traditional couple.  We got dressed together and walked down the isle together.  Paula and Damian made it work and had great ideas for photos.  We used Roxroy.  Also great to work with.  I have read other reviews about him taking a long time to get you the finished product as whiggrrl mentioned.  But after they received their video they all said they were happy with the results.

At our Welcome BBQ we had a steel drum band that was great.  Dont know their name.  they were recomended by Kerry.

We used Floral Fantasies for flowers. Rose was very helpful and patient.  If you go to their web page they have lots of pictures to get an idea of what your looking for.  We picked a tall cylinder with white orchards floating in water.   We choose to go with red napkins and tables cloths (Kerry arranged) so the white flower stood out and was very inexpensive.

We had Front Page Band.  The band was great as I mentioned in other post, but not really for our group.

We did not do a cake.  We just added an extra dessert from the Moon Dance menu for an extra $2 a person.

Enjoy your planning!

I'm learning so much from all ya'll's posts about vendors!  Thanks so much!  I'm just now starting to plan and looking into vendors.  I'm just curious about how much people are setting as their budget?  I know what mine is, but I'm just wondering if it's accurate.  It's been hard for me to judge a destination wedding.  About how much are ya'll's budgets for the wedding?

Hey ladies! Just got back from Jamaica (got married July 31st) and it was absolutely amazing! MALDJ1 you were absolutely right Kerry and Kerry Ann were an absolute dream to work with!! My guests can't stop raving about how awesome everything was and how excellent the customer service was!! We used Paula and Damien at Sungold and they were wonderful to work with. Everything turned out better than what I imagined. Even the weather was amazing! The forecast said it was goong to rain everyday we were there and it only rained for 10 min the day we arrived as we drove to MDC from the airport! We had a steel band during cocktail hour and my guests raved about how good they were! We also did the catarman's cruise and it was awesome!! My guests loved it! I could go on and on but just know everything will be amazing for your special day!

Hi Kleonne06

Congratulations!!  Glad everything turned out great for you!  It really is hard to explain to everyone just how amazing Moon Dance really is.  I know some say itâ€s expensive, but itâ€s SO WORTH IT!

I'm working on the details of planning now.  I was just curious what everyone is doing (or did) for lighting?  If you have any pictures/suggestions I'd REALLY appreciate them!

Thanks!

    • OMG these are incredible! Seriously blown away by the thoughtful detail you have put into every aspect of your gifts, your guests are going to be amazed! Props to you for adding so many personal touches and putting in so much time to make these gifts amazing!
    • These bags are amazing!! You are so organized and detailed, I am so impressed! I LOVE the Vistaprint stuff you ordered, the logo is so cute, I love your personalization!
    • I love etsy!! It's a great place to find personalized gifts without such a hefty price tag. I was thinking of getting my bridesmaids personalized necklaces with their names on them. I found these ones that are affordable and you can pick the chain length and different fonts, so you can really make them your own and pick what you know each bridesmaid will want. https://www.etsy.com/listing/595334072/personalized-name-necklace-stainless?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=personalized necklace&ref=sc_gallery-3-9&plkey=a8662525c53ec285c1b46b0f308162d0591edff8:595334072
    • Hi everyone, I am so happy that I am getting married to the love of my life. He proposed me and we are getting married within in a couple of months. And I have started preparations for my big day. I am super excited about a lot of things and also worried about many things.I have some inhibitions about my face and skin. Since I am a working woman, I have never got much time for personal care. This is the right time for it now. I need  proper medical grade skin care. Want to improve my skin tone and texture  I read some details about it here, https://www.mcleanclinic.com/nonsurgical-procedures/non-surgical/skin-care/, and found it really helpful. Can anyone of you suggest me some more tips? Like what I can do at home to have a glow on my face?  Thanks in advance.
    • I think you should approach the dentist. That would be the best idea as of now.
