I've just been told that I can't bring any electronics to cuba...
    ipods, laptops, walkie-talkies...

    Is this true?

If so that presents some pretty serious challenges!

    Anyone have more info?

      Here is what I found:
"Tourists are allowed to take their personal effects which include the articles (new or used) that they reasonably need for their holidays (according the length and purpose of the trip), plus: sport equipment, jewels, photographic camera, camcorder, cellular phones, blackberries, laptops, Ipods, MP3 players, video games, hair dryers, electric shavers, binoculars, one portable radio receiver, tape recorder, one portable music instrument and a sound recording device."

GPS ,Walkie Talkie and Satellite Devices are forbidden. Laptops and other things are OK.
Have fun in Cuba and don't forget "search protector" and "travel adapter" for your electronics.

Just to add - notice about "walkie talkie" came from travel booklet (from travel agency) the website listed here has different information.

"search protector" is a small electronic device to plug in electricity outlet. it protect your staff with high watts- especially straightening iron - from blowing out. You can get it in Source or Radioshack.

No problem - I came across your post, and was curious about the answer myself, so I did a little digging! You must be getting so excited - heck I'm excited for you - wish I could stow away in a suitcase!!!

PS: 'search' protector = "surge" protector...
