Ocean Turquesa & Coral Brides?

Recommended Posts

We just got back from our OCT wedding on July 27 and it was nothing short of perfect and incredible! To see pics, feel free to add me on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/brynnly

I wrote a full, detailed review of the resort on trip advisor which you can read here: http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g240327-d1128762-r170498865-Ocean_Coral_Turquesa-Puerto_Morelos_Yucatan_Peninsula.html#CHECK_RATES_CONT

Bottom line: do NOT stress! OCT took care of everything and it was absolutely perfect! Cynthia was the best wedding coordinator I could ever ask for. I was worried because I didn't hear from her much until just a few weeks before we left but that's because she had everything under control. Her attention to detail was amazing and she even made suggestions I would have never thought of. We loved working with her and made sure she was tipped well at the end.

The wedding cake was the best I had ever eaten. Every single one of our guests loved it! We got vanilla with pineapple filling. The flowers were gorgeous (we had white lilies). We went with the basic video package through the resort and had our wedding video just a few days later. I'm so glad we did that because it turned out great. They even live streamed our wedding online for those who couldn't make it down to see in person!

Our room, 7306 was BEAUTIFUL! The resort upgraded us to privilege for free and we felt like royalty. It was close to the pool, beach and restaurants and overlooked the ocean. Couldn't have asked for better accomodations!

If you'd like me to send you any of my documents (menus, flower choices, pictures, etc) feel free to email me: [email protected]. I am so excited for all of you future OCT brides because you are in for an incredible experience. It was the best week of our lives!!!

ATTN: Brides who have had weddings at OCT in June I'm getting married next June at 5pm and am concerned about the heat in Mexico at that time of year. Was it unbearable? Did it cool down at night? Any thoughts about the weather in June are much appreciated!

Hope this gives you a better idea of the resort.

Note - our wedding day, it rained so our outdoor venues changed. We were married at a ceremony in a private section of the lobby and had a banquet room for the reception.

It was really a pleasure work with nice people like you Leah! Thank you very much!

We wish the best for you and your husband!

I am getting married here in May 2014. I spoke with the hotel and it is almost 400 dollars (vendor fee plus day pass) to bring in an external photographer...and this is per person. Has anyone used an external vendor and know more about this

Hi everyone!

We were Married on Thursday Aug 8/13 at the Ocean Turquesa.

Cynthia was our planner and she was fantastic.  We exchanged a few emails prior, but really unless you have very specific changes they work it all out so quickly.

The resort is lovely, it was never too crowded, the standard rooms are great.  We were upgraded to a suite and it worked well for myself and my 3 daughters to get ready in.

We chose the Paradise package.  We opted for the Terrace ceremony and dinner.

Cynthia was super easy to work with, everything I asked was no problem.  It is very hot in August and we had planned for a 4pm wedding, but she suggested we could move it to 5pm no problem.

I brought fans for the chairs, menus, shell place cards, napkins for cocktail hour, battery candles.

We met with Cynthia on Monday (we arrived Sunday)  she went over our choices and arranged for blood test on Wednesday (easy...the nurse took us to the clinic and we were done in 10 minutes and he was very pleasant and spoke perfect English)

She booked my hair and makeup for 2pm on Thursday. I was in the pool until 12 then showered, no stress at all!  The Ladies in the salon are nice.  They have a file full of pictures and I picked one and it turned out fantastic, make-up was also great in and out in les than an hour.

Cynthia brought our flowers to the room and took us by golf cart to the lobby.

I had an ipod with all the music on it and they played it perfectly.  The ceremony was lovely.

We had the resort photographers and chose the bronze package as we new there would be many cameras,  They were great as you can see from the photos.

After the ceremony we had champagne and then hit the beach for some pictures.

We just finished our pictures when it started to rain.  I was really upset that we wouldn't be able to do cocktail hour or dinner outside, but Cynthia really went all out to move our cocktail hour inside the lobby and decorate a Ball Room for our dinner.

We had cocktails in the lobby with appetizers.  We hired a Marriachi Band thru Cynthia and it was great!

Dinner was fantastic the meal (surf/turf|) was better than I ever expected!

We danced for 2 hours then moved outside to the pool bar where there is nightly dancing!

I would not hesitate to tell anyone how stress free it can be and the backdrop of the Ocean and Palm trees is priceless

I will post pictures of the cocktail hour and dinner set up in a few days.

Hi Ladies!

I am getting very excited planning my wedding at OCT!  I am hoping for some feedback on Hair and Makeup!  I have been looking through the thread and saw that 'Litzy' from the spa was good.  Has anyone had any issues with hair and makeup---I am very nervous about this?  Approximately what price are they charging for bridesmaids?  Has anyone used external vendors or went off the resort for hair and makeup?  I have received quotes from Hair Trio, and they are more money then my high end salon here in Calgary, Alberta----$185 USD for hair and makeup (no name brand makeup) for bride and $120 USD for bridesmaids!

Also we are hiring Sweet Fire Photography to do our wedding!  I know there is a way to avoid the $550 USD vendor fee+ $85/person day pass....but how do you go about avoiding at least part of these fees?  How did you go about booking the photographers for a night stay?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
