How to decide where to have engagment photos taken

Hi All,

I am so confused. We really need to book a photographer for our engagement photos but I don't know where we want to do them...

How did you decide where to have them done? Did the location have a special meaning?

 

Here is possible list so far:

1. Mackinaw Island - where my FI proposed
2. Chicago - love the city e-pics I have seen but no real meaning
3. Playa Del Carmen, Mexico - while we are there for our site visit?
4. Near ruins in Mexico

I think it depends on what you guys want.

1. Mackinaw Island would be awesome. It has such a charm to it and beautiful views and locations. Would be awesome.

2. Chicago pretty much speaks for itself. AMAZING photo opportunities.

3. Playa is beautiful... but that's also where all of your wedding photos will be taken. Will you want something a little different?

4. Ruins in Mexico would be really cool... but I know there is some touchy subjects regarding professional photos at the ruins. Although I think engagement pictures would be fine.

 

So... it's really up to you!

Thank you so much! You really reaffirmed what I was thinking. I am really leaning towards not doing them in MX. I love the idea of Chicago plus we could have a few with our baby puppy then.

OOO, a baby puppy!!?!?! That'd be SO awesome! What's really cool is if you do them during the winter you could even do some skating rink pictures! That'd be awesome.

I wouldn't do them in MX since you will have plenty of images there. Chicago is a good choice because it's very much the opposite and gives you a wide range of images. Plus with Chicago there are so many different areas you can do the images at! Enjoy and have fun!

I don't know. I submitted a form to get pricing information. I got lucky and stumbled onto that website, otherwise I don't know how else I would find a photographer in Chicago...
