You don't have to have it where you are staying but in our opinion it was inconvenient to put our guests on a 45 min ferry ride each way @$20.00 r/t for a 1/2 hour ceremony, just our feeling on it though, you could ask the palace weddings dept for insight on that.

The suggest music was an option when i built my website. The songs that are up there, I put there, as people suggest songs they don't play, it just becomes a list.
Hope all that helps!

Hi, I saw this small print when reading about the complimentary wedding package, but I cant remember where I saw it first. So I googled some key words and found it on a few sites that discuss Free Wedding Packages in Cancun. So apparently if you get your room for free based on having a certain number of qualifying guest rooms (as per the group agreement) you will not qualify for the free wedding. You should DEF look into this with your TA or planner. Good luck!

"** This offer is valid only for guests staying at selected Wedding Resorts (Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort, Aventura Spa Palace or Playacar Palace) for the entire stay. Travel Agent, discounted or complimentary stays do not qualify. "

Sorry for the news sad.gif dont kill the messanger! I wanted to know if you took pictures of the North and South Solariums while on your Site Visit?? Could you please post? Thanks!!

Ok so here is the skinny on the free wedding package and free room stuff...

Hi Katherine,
Thank you for your response. Just want to be sure I understand, I still qualify for the complementary wedding package even though I get any of the amenities below.
Example: I qualify for the unlimited functions and free 7 nights, I will not be obligated to upgrade to a another wedding package

Dear Tanya,
The wedding package is separate from the rooms. You are still confirmed for the Complimentary package however I will advise the cake in the complimentary package is for up to 35 guests maximum and if you will be having additional guests you would need to upgrade to a larger wedding cake for an additional cost. Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns. Thanks and have a great day

In regard to the Solarium, i have to look thru my pics and see if I have any, if i do, i will post.

Tanya Marie- Glad it will all work out for you!

What time is everyone planning to Marry vs sunset time? I wanted to do a 4:00 ceremony (jan 2011) sun sets at 5:30. Does that mean it will be dark at 5:30? We wanted to do a TTD shoot after the ceremony. Now I don't know what to do!!

So it looks like Playacar Palace is now part of the Wyndam resorts as well. Has anyone heard about any changes or what this does to wedding packages ecthuh.gif? Its making me nervous. Any info would be appreciated I can't find much.

BTW- On the Palace Resorts website with the list of all resorts is where they show the name change. There is no info under recent news.

HI Gracie,

They sent me an email about 2 months ago advising me of the change. In my case since I already booked and signed the contract nothing changed at all. I am not sure what wedding packages they will be offering moving forward though. The only thing that changed at the resort is the signage on the outside of the building. You probably won't find much since the transition just recently took place.

Hi Playacar Palace Peeps!

We just returned from a "site visit" to Playa... and after seeing several hotels - we've picked Playacar Palace to host our wedding on November 13, 2010. Does anyone else have plans to be married there in Nov. 2010? Just curious what rates they are offering. I'm negotiating the hotel contract on my own and looking for comparisons!

Thanks!

Hi Steph! Welcome...The hotel is pretty isnt it?? We loved it as well!! Classy yest laid back!! and the people were SOOOOOO nice! I am not sure what rates the hotel is giving you, but we went through an agent, I couldnt be bothered dealing with it. If you are intrested in the rates that I got for October and which agent I am using, send me a PM.

Hello all! I am not new to BDW but I am new to this Playacar Palace thread. We were looking into staying at either the Royal or the Gran Porto, but after hearing the promotional deal that PP is offering (the free unlimited functions/free rooms) I looked into a possible switch. That would be a GREAT money saver for us, considering one private function at the Gran Porto was looking to be about $1,500.

We are not having our actual wedding ceremony at the hotel, but instead at a little catholic church on 5th avenue. Because of this I wasn't sure if we would still qualify for the room/free function deal.

I am waiting for Juan Carlos to email me the proposal and then I guess we'll go from there! If anyone has any specific advice or tips for me at this point in the planning process (ie: things to be sure to include in the contract, questions to ask, etc.), I'd love to hear them!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
