I'm going crazy

Hi Kayleena

My name is Guilyn. I can TOTALLY relate to EVERYTHING you've said. 'm going nuts-o too. I've thought about hiring a Wedding coordinator to hlp me narrow down my options, but I'd probabl drive the poor girl nuts, because we are having such a hard time finding a spot to stick too. All of the resorts are so big, and that's definitely no ou style. We found one cool spot in Puerto Vallarta Welcome to Playa Fiesta but I'm not sure about having it in Puerto Vallarta, and they have a 'clause' where if you want to rent out the entire hotel, all of your guests have to stay 5 nights. BUT it's affordable, and got GREAT reviews on Reviews of vacations, hotels, resorts, vacation and travel packages - TripAdvisor so you may ant to check it out.

Just a thought. But in the meantime, please let me know what you find out, because it sounds like you and I are on similar pages as far as what we're looking for, so I'd love to know what you decide on, or come across.

Look forward to talking to you!

Guilyn

I have been engaged since December. We've always known we want to have a destination wedding. But! I'm going crazy trying to find a great destination that fits our expectations... its so hard to find what fits. We want to get married on the beach at an all inclusive resort... but doesnt feel like a resort. More like huts on the beach but accomodates to about 50 people including children and of course not too expensive. Its tough, we thought Hawaii, then Caribbean then Mexico then Belize.... ugh! im getting stressed out when i promised i wouldnt!
Kayleena-
I know there are a couple of other newbies also considering Belize. My aunt and uncle stay at a place they absolutely love there. I e-mailed my aunt yesterday on behalf of one of the other potential Belize brides on this site. I thought it might be helpful to you too:

Susan-
Joe and I have seen many weddings while in Belize. The only place I would recommend is where we stay. It is on the island of Ambergris Caye, at the Victoria House. It is first class, and the nicest place on the island. I think if she went on their website, they'd be sold on the place. Go to www.victoria-house.com for a better look. Stefanie spent her honeymoon there, and Shay & Michael just returned from a Christmas trip and loved it. It is a "boutique" hotel, on the beach, with a friendly, efficient staff. To get there, we fly Continental with a stop in Houston, then Belize City, and a final 15 minute flight to the island. The hotel arranges the final flight to the island for you. The weddings there are beautiful, and there is rooom most likely for all the guests they want. I positively recommend it. Any questions, and I'd welcome their call. Nancy

Hi Kayleena,

Since a lot of people are talking about Tulum I thought I'd mention this eco place that I stayed at a couple of years ago. They have 3 properties right next to each other, but not on top of each other. I stayed at Cabanas Copal, and I totally loved it. Each property is small and two of them (Cabanas and Zahra) are electricity free (the common areas and restaurants have electricity, but the rooms don't), but they do have indoor plumbing so it's not completely rustic.

I'm not sure if they do all-inclusive deals, but here's the link to their Group/Wedding info page: Tulum | Mexico Accommodations | Riviera Maya - EcoTulum Resorts & Spa - Eco friendly Mexico Vacation Hotel – Caribbean Villas.

I was going crazy too and wanted a very similar situation as you. We just had our wedding at Playa Fiesta in Puerto Vallarta and it was incredible. All of our guests loved it and most said that it felt like a nice resort and a private villa in one -- the best of both worlds!

Welcome! I got engaged in December as well! I changed destinations a couplt of times before I found my "prefect site" Most BTB's here are getting married in Mexico, but for me Costa Rica seemed more perfect for me, and very affordable at that! Good Luck on deciding, and let us know if we can help you with anything.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
