We loved it so much that we extended the reception an additional hour. We rented a speaker to hook up to my ipod for like $50, and one of my guests was the mc. The only problem was my heels kept getting caught in between the planks of the deck. It was very windy which kept the guests cool. My legs were a bit hot under my dress though but I think it was worth it to be so close to the ocean.

There is the address to look at my professional pics on photobucket. You can see the girl who did my hair who was great. She is from the spa at the resort and the girl who did my sisters hair who was not so fabulous as her hair was falling out in the room before the wedding. My hair was falling out after the wedding but with such high humidity and the wind I accepted it as being a downfall of the beautiful location. You can also see the reception site. Hope this helps.

Thanks! Do you mind if I send one of your pics to Marialma so she can identify the "good" hairdresser?

And for the ladies that brought in Doranna, is $190US her coming to the resort? Is that including all her travel and parking. Did you have to pay for a daypass for her or was she excused? Thanks!

Yes the $190 included her coming to the resort. She did not mention any additional cost for parking but you do have to pay $65 day pass through the resort. She told me I could come to her house to have hair/make up done too. I was going to do that for the trial but I figured with the cabs and everything it wasnt worth leaving the resort. Hope this helps, good luck

Ouch - I just received an email from Marialma saying that the charge for outside vendors is $125 per person (yikes)...So you just had to pay $65 for your hair/makeup artist? I feel like the prices keep going up every time I get an email from the resort...they don't seem to be very consistant.

Who are you ladies using as photographers??

Thanks!

I'm using Nathaniel Thompson out of Santa Barbara. He's staying as a guest so I don't have to pay the vender fee. I suggest doing that even if you hire someone from the area. Right now prices are cheaper to stay the night, then to pay the guest pass for the day!

That's interesting....I e-mailed Marialma with this very same question about 2 weeks ago, and she told me the fee is $65 for the day pass. I am using Claudia Rodriguez as my photographer...

From what I understand $65 is for a half day. So hairstylist usually comes in the morning only.

Full day pass = $125. So if you have a vendor like a photographer from morning to night then this is what you have to pay.

Also some photographers bring an assistant so that will double your cost. Make sure you find that out.

I am bringing Claudia's team: Citlalli (photo) + her assistant + Gerardo (video) for the whole day so that is $125x3. Lucky me! :)

Thanks for clarifying, EmenGeeRoxx. I'm only having Claudia for half a day, thus the $65 fee.

I'm using a photographer from Vancouver that will already be there. His name is Dean Sanderson - Dean Sanderson Wedding Photography

Our engagement pics are in my bio.

Marialma has never mentioned an 'outside vendors' fee to me. I just had the understanding I had to pay for a pass for him, although all along we were planning on just calling him a 'guest' to make things easier.

Thanks for ALL the info. We are going to Doranna's place for the trial. I'll drop off the fiancee and then head to 5th and meet the rest of my guests.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
