MayBride you looked absolutely gorgeous on your day!  From the pictures you would never know that things weren't perfect.  I'm really sorry that you had such frustrations at the resort.  :(  That is scary to me.  It must have been even more frustrating as an event and wedding planner in the past yourself.  I hate not being able to control certain things, especially when they are so important to you.  Do you mind me asking who was your wedding planner?  My friend 6 years ago had the same issue with the timing at dinner and the golf cart transportation, but eventually everything worked out.  It was scary for a bit though.

We are getting married at the beach location as well and I was really impressed with how beautiful it looks in the pictures.  You had a clear and sunny day!  You can tell it was quite windy.  The decorations you had on the beach gazebo are awesome - exactly what I want.  Did you order these from another company?  I have ordered the tiffany chairs and crystal backdrop as well, but the pomandar balls were so elegant, I loved your decorations!  Thank you so much for taking the time to come back and let us know about your experience.

Carlota, I love the idea of sending the information to Vanessa, and I'm glad you've spoken to her about the timing as well.  I think I will start a Word document too, as well as print out all of our emails as suggested by another bride too.  One more thing another bride suggested that I liked was to print out pictures of exactly how you'd like things set up if you are bringing for example a guest book, memorial candle, any table decorations etc.

We also will have more than 40 people - we have 45 booked right now and I think we will end up with about 55 in total, so I know it may take a long time to serve everyone the meals.  The service was very friendly though, just really, really slow.   If there are any former brides who still read these messages, can you tell us how long did your dinner take from start to finish?  It would be so appreciated!

I can shed a bit of light, on my wedding.  45 people and 2 with food allergies.

My dinner was to start at 7 and I think it was close to being on time.. I have no real concept of the actual time but the dinner seemed to be served super quick.  I say less than 2 hours start to finish.  We wanted to do speaches in between courses and really there was no time, they seemed to be coming right away after cleaning the empty plates off. Ended up doing our speaches after dinner.

Hello brides and a special hello to Maybride,

First of all I have to say that the location you chose is beautiful and you look stunning. BTW, I love your dress!!

By the other hand, I am really sorry about your experience. I think it is terrible that you had that problems.

I would like to know also who was your wedding organizer, please could you tell us?

I also would like to know if your lack of communication it was because you wanted to say sth else to her or forgot? I mean, do you have your meeting with her, right?

Did you try to look for her during the mornings but not even you could reach her? or try to leave a message? I just want to understand until what poing the wedding organizers are difficult to talk with them.

For example, Vanessa told me that everything I wanted to tell her I have to try to do it the day of our meeting because later it is going to be impossible that we could have another meeting as she is going to be with other couples.

Please, I know you have written is a long story, but what happened to your dress? Did you have not the opportunity to give your dress at your meeting?

Did you book the flowers with the hotel (included at your package) or with an outside vendor?

Maybride I am very thankful about your review, this makes me think that it is very important to talk to my wedding organizer giving her the Word document with all the details about the wedding. Above all because we have made changes.

A big huge from Spain

Thank you so much, Karen for this infomation.  That makes me feel a bit better.  Was your dinner also at La Laguna?  I am assuming so since you had over the amount to have it in a restaurant.  I also planned on having the speeches between courses, but it sounds like we'll just have to go with the flow of however much time things happen to take that day, lol.  Thanks again for the help!  :)

oh Maybride...I am so sad to hear you are upset about your wedding...if it helps at all, you look so beautiful, and you and your family look so happy in the photos! The location is breathtaking, and it seems like such a pretty day. I know of the wind here at the Palladium, we stayed here before and my photos on the beach have my  hair looking crazy! Thank you for taking the time to tell us about the communication (or lack thereof) with the WC...Im with you Lauren- it scares me a bit! I like communication, and I know how I want my day to go...I understand there are always things that are going to happen beyond our control...but things like the dress disappearing (???) are pretty serious.'

I hope you receive your professional photos and are able to see the day in a different light :)

Carlota, great idea about the word doc! I have lists written out with copies for me and Vanessa, so you and I are very much alike! ha ha! I am just hoping for a beautiful sunny day!

Mikeycelle- I have been thinking of you and hope you had a beautiful day also!!  I am next- yikes! We leave in 12 days!!  How it came here so fast is unreal to me!! But I am so excited to marry my handsome fiance that I love so much :)

I wrote to Vanessa asking about things like decorative plates for the cigar bar we are having and about Las Rocas...we would like to head here after our reception.

Ok, going to bed girlies!!  XOXO

Hola chicas!

This morning I have received a mail from Vanessa, She gives me a huge thanks for sending her the Word document with all the information. She tells me that she really apreciates that because everything is clearer and more organized. So brides: go for the doc!! lol

Good suggestion about the photos of things you want to be in a particular way, I am going to add that as well.

Chrestena, time really flyes!! Your wedding is so near!!! 12 days for arriving Mexico!! So exciting!!! I imagine you will write at least one more time here, but just in case, wish you the best of the lucks and the best organizing wedding!!

Yes, we are similar then... soooo organized with everything, imagine with a wedding!! lol

I was thinking that of course it is impossible that everything is going to be perfect. Almost impossible, at least.

During the last four years I have went to several weddings: my sister's, my cousins', my friends... and in all of the weddings being in different places, sth was wrong: the music from the DJ, the colour of the flowers, etc... So I think that now I am still in time to start thinking that is going to happen to me as well!!

But anyway, one thing I have clear: i am going to try to repeat the things as much as I can to Vanessa.

And of course, I really really really hope that she is going to be at my wedding (Karenk, I think, you told us you have another one).

Have a nice day!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
