Not quite sure. I wanted a DJ and he gave me a package that included cold fireworks, smoke, bubbles and props for your guests ( hats, feather boas, fun sunglasses, etc) . The dance floor was extra ( same price as the package).

Perhaps your wedding coordinator would have an idea where to get just the dance floor and cold fireworks. She would have contacts.

Lauren, The app is called MyWeddingDJ and it's $4.99 from the App Store. I've not actually got it yet, bit read something online and though I'd need to keep it in mind for when the time comes! Maricelle, Thank you so much for your information, you are amazing and a huge help for me :) Normas09, I'm sorry I have no idea, I'm sure if you emailed Vanessa se might know, or even ask on the Palladiumaddict forum, the guys there seem to know everything about GP Claire

My dad was born in Germany but it's been a long time since we've had a German wedding.  Mostly it's the singing in German Christmas carols we do!  I'll ask him today and see what I can pick up for you!

Claire - thank you SOOOO much for the name of the App.  My fiance googled a few last night but we didn't see that one.  I'm going to get it today.  You're the best!

You can let us know what you think - I've not had the chance to look up any reviews etc yet so hope it's worthwhile for you! x

It was only $1.99 and I like it!  The fade out is a bit fast but there may be a way to change the speed - I haven't played around too much yet.  Also a couple of the songs just stopped right in the middle, but again I didn't really investigate it.  I was just listening on my drive to work with a playlist that's already on my iPod.  These aren't songs that I've normally had an issue with though.  Once I dig in a little deeper I'll give you a proper review.  :)

Hello Ladies,

Claire - thanks for that APP name, I bought it and have started to set up my wedding ceremony on it. It is amazing.. if you are doing your own music well worth the money.  It was only $1.99 CND for me.. so a deal.  Very easy to set up.

Starting to get my list of stuff done slowly,  my dress fitting went really well and we hopefully will have final fitting and pick up on Feb 23rd.  I plan on bringing a veil and some different jewelry with me so we can make some decisions on whether to wear on not to wear a veil and then jewelry.

We have decided on our Meal #14 - chicken.  Being from Canada and Alberta where our beef is second to none we find that we don't care for Mexican beef as much.  so opted for chicken & shrimp.

I still have to pick my Gluten Free meal for myself and my Aunt.

It is getting so close and so excited.. oooh we also finally went and ordered my Fiance's ring, that was so exciting in itself.  Made it way more real for him.

Is anyone else planning on doing a little pre tanning before you go.  I just started, decided because we are there 4 fulll days before our wedding if I had a little color it will help me not burn.. don't want red lobsters for our pictures. ha ha!!!  I also have bought some strapless bathing suit tops so I won't have tan lines.  My dress is strapless so it would really show.

Something else we are planning for our week there is having a scavenger hunt and then instead of a rehersal dinner we are doing a pub crawl.. We will take the train to the last stop from Whitesands and work our way back stopping at as many bars that we can for 1 drink at each. Will be a lot of fun...  I might even bring white Tshirts for myself and Fiance' to wear and get autographs from people we meet.

Hope everyone's planning is going great

Cheers,
Karen

Hello Ladies,

Well it's been a while since I last posted but I have been reading everything.

first THANKS Claire, I too bought the Wedding DJ App after reading your post and love it.  I have not had any glitches yet and it was so easy to set up.  If anyone is planning on doing their own music definately check it out.  My planning is humming along, slowly getting through my To Do List. I have finished my Kids Activity packages for during the reception. Still have to do the Name Tags for seating at the dinner.

I wanted to let everyone know some of the fun stuff we have planned for our guests.  We have 45 of us and I am going to be handing out a Scavenger Hunt to every family  and then they can submit it during our Pub Crawl.. Yup you read that right.. instead of a Rehersal dinner we are going to do a pub crawl.  this resort is so big we will take the train to the end opposite of Whitesands and stop for 1 drink in as many of the bars that we can get to, working our way back.  A great way to see the whole resort and have a lot of fun.  Im also thinking of bringing plain white Tshirts for me & fiance' and we can get autographs from the people we meet on the way.

I have my final dress fitting on the 23rd, so excited.  Im going to bring my veil and some different jewelry options to try on with the dress so we can make a decision on what I want to wear.  Im really undecided on the veil.  I love pictures with the veil and wind but dont' like the thought of a veil blowing in my face during the ceremony.  LOL

Well that is it for now,

Happy Planning,

Karen

Hi Karen,

I LOVE your idea of a pub crawl!  This might be an idea my fiance's family would be interested in for sure haha!  I was also planning on doing a photo scavenger hunt.  Can I ask what kinds of ideas are on your list to look for/do?  I am short of ideas at this time - certainly I want more than 'bride and groom in a romantic moment' and 'speedo gone wrong!'  The autograph thing sounds really fun too.  I like that it's an idea you guys can do together and engage others and make friends with too!  :)  It really sounds like things are coming together for you!  I can't believe you have only 6-7 weeks left!  Thanks for keeping us posted on how you're doing.

Lauren

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
