Departing from Dallas

Leaving Dallas was a breeze. Aero Mexico was wonderful. We flew 1st class, which was nice. Only thing they did not have a closet for our wedding attire, we had to put the suit and dress in the overhead bend. I was ok with that.

Arriving in Cabo

Was an easy process. No problems with Customs. Waiting for Epic was a smooth transition. Since our flight arrived early, there were no timeshare people floating around. We arrived in Cabo @ 9:30am.

Hilton Check –In

Easy process, we arrived about 10:30am. The room was not ready, told to give them about 40 min for the room. Since we arrived so early they forgot to give us our welcome drink. Later on we had our welcome drink. In the meantime we walked the grounds of the hotel to check everything out. The Hilton is really nice very luxury in style. I am so glad I selected the Hilton, very fitting to our style when we travel. The Hilton is 15 min from

Town, I timed it. Some reviews on trip advisors say about 25-30 min. I was told the shuttle runs to both towns complimentary for hotel guest. Well not this summer, the transportation authorities are having problems with the taxi and hotel shuttle service. The taxis still run, however be prepared they may not bargain with you.

The Room

What a room!!! We had a suite, just breathtaking. The room was on the 5th floor overlooking the pool and beach. Our room was in the middle of the resort, we could see everything. Our entire guest had great views.

Every morning I was up at 6:30. I started my morning by listening to the ocean, seating on the balcony and listening to my I-POD and writing in my journal. I decide to journal each day while in Cabo.

First day 7-9

We rented a car from National at the Hotel. I had 2 reservations one at Dollar and National. I thought Dollar was next door at Melia, wrong Melia. So I went back to National at the Hilton. We rented a compact car. We drove into town for lunch and shopping at Wal-Mart. We stocked-up on drinks for our group.

Check out Happy Hour everyday at LaVista Bar $5.00 drinks and complimentary appetizers. La Vista bar/restaurant is very relaxing to have drinks with family and friends. After a long day we just relax at the hotel, glad we did because just below our room this proposed to his girlfriend. The set-up was really romantic, the hotel did everything

They had rose petals, spelled out MARRY ME in rocks. She Said Yes!!!

To end our 1st night we retreated to our wonderful room and slept with door open to hear the sound of the ocean. Just felt so at peace. Try it!!

Second Day 7-10

I had meetings with Maye, DJ Richie and Jaria from the Hilton to confirm all the details

Most of our guest arrived on Thursday, so we stayed around the hotel to greet everyone

Third Day 7-11

The Welcome Party. The hotel did a wonderful job on the set up, the food was wonderful

I did a buffet for the welcome party. Everyone really enjoyed Friday night. We set-up a docking station for the I-POD, which worked well for our group. Location for the welcome party was the Blue Marlin Terrace.

Fourth Day 7-12, THE WEDDING DAY

The wedding day was very relaxing. Everything went as planned. I was very relaxed

Breakfast with the group, we went into town to buy breakfast taco for everyone

Relax by the pool with the girls. Start to prepare at 2:00 for the wedding

Everyone was on time. Neysa started first with my hair. Tomas & Carlos (the photographer & video) arrived with my flowers. My flowers just gorgeous!!!!! Maye arrived to check on me and the girls, then to check on the guys. The girls and I had a champagne toast, and then off to get married!! Time went by so fast.

VENDORS

Maye: A+++

I hired Maye for the flowers, day of coordination, minster and canopy for the beach.

She was on time for the meeting on Thursday, very professional. She was on time for the wedding and had the table set-up for the reception. I was able to see the reception area from my room.The Minster she hired was very nice!! Most important he remembered our names during the ceremony. Everything I asked she did it!! She was present all through out the wedding. She gave me a peace of mind on my wedding; she is worth the money if you can hire her.

Jaira & hotel staff Hilton Coordinator: A+++

She was in charged of the welcome party, everything was set-up on time. She was present to oversee everything. No problems. Anytime I had a question she was available. The Hilton staff is wonderful!! Everyone is so nice. The food was wonderful for both events

DJ RICIE: A+++

Very nice to work with!! I emailed him my play list 2 weeks the wedding date.

He had everything I requested. He was at the hotel on Thursday to meet. I let the FI meet the DJ RICHIE to discuss the flow of the music. He did music for the wedding, dinner music and party music. Hire him if you can!!

Tomas Barron:A++

This man works hard!! Based on professionalism I will give him A++. I have not seen my pics, but I think he did a wonderful job. My guest really enjoyed him!! He stayed longer then I hired him.

The Cake Jennifer Hatttom: A+++

OMG WHAT A CAKE!!! I did a two layer cake with seashells on top. The cake was soooooo good. Everyone raved about the cake. One problem: the hotel did not box the cake. The cake was sent to my mothers room very moist cake not sure what kind on cake but very moist. So we had to toss the cake since it was out overnight.

Neysa for my hair:A+++

She is sooooo nice and very professional!!!!! I sent her pics of what I wanted.

We had girl talk while she was doing my hair. So I really enjoyed chatting with her.

I know there are other stylist, but she is really good and good priceâ€s. She came to my room also. If you can hire her!!!!

Feed your vendors!!!!!

Ladies, whatever you do feed your vendors, they work very hard!! I included the vendors for the reception. I had a table setup for them next to the main table. I guess most brides do not include them.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
