Will begin planning VERY SOON!

Recommended Posts

I think you will fall in love with EdenH. We didn't visit the resort, but it looked amazing from the outside even and the employees at both our wedding and honeymoon resorts talked about how fantastic it is.

We loved PPC for it's lively atmosphere and our wedding there was perfect!!!

Doesn't look like you are visiting PPR, but it was the lap of luxury for our honeymoon (same luxury level as EdenH fron what the locals say). When we said we were honeymooning at PPR, we got oohs and aahs from the locals each time. Evidently that's where everyone hopes to work -- although I'd bet EdenH now gives PPR a run for the money!

Be sure to take pics. Can't wait to hear your thoughts!!!

Good Luck! This site has helped me so much! I am getting married at the PPC on May 22, 2009. I have never been there but after reading post by other brides that have already been married there I feel that I made a good choice. I am staying at the PPR for my honeymoon the week after...not for a whole week but for a few extra days after everyone leaves. I don't want to leave my son for a whole week...he is going home with my mother and best friend on 5/26....

Anyway...congrats and tell us how everything went!welcome3.gif

  • 2 weeks later...

Ladies I am back.

So from our choices we've narrowed it down to 2 places:

1. Paradisus Punta Cana

2. Caleton Beach at Cap Cana

Why we eliminated the others:

1. EdenH - We were booked for this hotel while we were there on site visits. We left this hotel after the first night. Not a good experience for us. Too many bumps for one night. I'll give you ladies just a quick summary: I was walking around my room in the NUDE and a grounds worker was on my balcony painting. Mind you I was on the 3rd Floor and then he refused to leave bc he had to complete the work(just an fyi...there was no language barrier, I am dominican and can speak the language). Then our toilet didn't work, so they switched our rooms. That toilet didn't work. Dinner reservations is/was a nightmare. We were told the restaurants were booked until Sunday (it was Thursday). So our choice of dinner was Buffet. Buffet for breakfast/lunch/and dinner. Oh and you're only allowed to eat the restaurant once. So if you're really like the food enjoy it then bc you can't have it again.

2. Riu Palace- This is where we stayed for the rest of our vacation. Beautiful grounds. All the brides getting married here you definitely have a great place/wedding to look forward to. The wedding coordinator Magnolia is really nice and accommodating. Why we didn't choose this place? The ceremony locations are not private nor big enough for our guests. Yes, the beach is available but not private. Also, the restaurant that can accommodate our 100+ guest is the Steakhouse. My fiancee and I are huge carnivoures and we were not pleased with the dinner. As for the other restaurants..they were GREAT!!! But they can only accommodate 30 guests.

Our final decision will be based on estimates given to us from our wedding coordinator who is based in Santo Domingo. So my job now is to compile everything I want and send it off to her. So my planning has begun somewhat smile72.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
