How is your budget??

Recommended Posts

destination wedding really cut costs down. we were looking in sf and for 125 guests, it was close to $50k. with that amount of money, i'm sure i can have a really nice wedding in HI and pay for my guests' hotel stay! we'll see how it plays out. based on how many ppl we think we're going to have (~50), we plan to spend around $25-30k for the whole thing. that includes, ceremony, reception (dinner and cocktalis), flights and hotel for close family and then all the other stuff, like flowers, transportation, music, photography and video, etc.

out budget is prolly on the high end, but it's still a lot lower than what we would have paid to have it in sf.

We are coming in under budget right now. We set a budget we thought we might be able to work w/ and it's been great. My fiances parents are actually paying for our flights down there and our accommodation. That saves us $2500 right there. But our wedding in right on the beach and then our reception is in a large Palapa on the beach so I don't really need alot of extra decor cause we have such great scenery. The most expensive part is our reception venue, food, linens, sound system (main reception parts) which actually comes in just under $2000. Our location doesn't have a specific package which is kind of nice.... I think its coming in cheaper and I get everything I want!

OMG people can be so inconsiderate! Is there a way that you can politely tell this person that there is only room for a certain amount of people at the wedding?

Oh, this is a great thread. We started with a $15,000 budget from my very generous parents. That included invites, our air and room for 1 week, 4 bridal party's rooms for 3 nights, favors, cocktail hour(per person charge), dress, accessories, photographer (outside), Mento Band, and some other stuff. It really helps not to have to pay for booze, limos, churches, sit down dinners, ect.. In NJ weddings are like $40,000 and up. We went to one recently that cost over $100,000!

Then when our AI became fully booked by parents raised it to like $20,000 b/c they are gonna pay the day passes for whomever has to stay at another resort. FH and I are paying for a welcome party off resort. I am trying to find my favors on sale and cut costs other ways. If anything we shouldn't have paid for bridal parties rooms, they really don't deserve it! But other than that we are good.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
