My wedding is scheduled for November 12, 2010 @ Azul Sensatori @ 4pm. woot.gif Problem is, I have had so much drama surrounding getting family members (on his side) on board to come to the wedding that I haven't started planning anything @ the resort!! So basically any and all advice that you ladies can share would be great!

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all and learn along the way. Hopefully, when I get started with all of this I can offer some assistance also!
Hi Meredith! welcome3.gif

Nicole is right, it's absolutely crucial to remember that a DW is your decision and if that's what you want, don't let ANYONE, make you feel bad or guilty or upset you with what they say. This is ONLY the beginning and things can get tough but in the end it's YOUR day!! You do what you want and if some people can't come, won't come etc. they're the ones missing out, not you :)

That's been one of the toughest thing to deal with for me... people unable to come, people cancelling last minute etc. I truly hope you don't have to deal with any of this but the best thing I can tell you is that's it's not worth stressing over, it will drive you crazy and you can't control it.

On a lighter note, please feel free to ask us any questions, we're all happy to help! A few of us are closing in on our wedding dates in the next month so our planning threads/reviews/photos will help a lot!

:) Amy

welcome3.gif Meredith!

Don't worry about not having started the planning process yet. You've still got lots of time. DWs work on a different schedule than regular ones since most of the planning is done through the resort. I'd start off by contacting your WC at the resort and asking him/her for advice on where to start. They'll probably ask you some initial questions about your wedding (budget, colors, themes, etc) and then will give you some ideas to help get the juices flowing. You can go as simple as their packages or add on to your heart's content! Just be prepared for the cost as Karisma resorts aren't known for being cheap or bargaining.

There's another bride on this thread (Crista Lee) that's getting married at AS in November, too!

That would be awesome! Did you do just one piece of paper front and back, brochure, etc?

I don't know if it comes across well in the scanned copy but the background on the back side is a beach. Also, since our guest list is so small and everyone will know each other, we didn't include the names of our wedding party.
Wendy, that's pretty much exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for sharing them and it helps get an idea of what to put on them...now i just need to figure out how to make them!

I hope you girls had a great weekend! I have been so busy and frustrated lately, yesterday I finally feel like I made some serious progress and it finally feels like my wedding is fast approaching.

I packed 4 suitcases yesterday! I mean, I woke up and got right to work, half my living room was filled with boxes of stuff I've purchased for the wedding and I unboxed it all and put it in suitcases and rearranged it all like 1,000 times. None of these suitcases have clothes btw... just stuff for the wedding which is crazy to me since I still have more wedding stuff to get!!! Where are my clothes going to go?? LOL!

I forgot to mention to you ladies I did a lot of research on hotels in Vegas for my legal wedding. I think we're going to rent a giant suite and party there. After researching a lot I happend to find the Emperor Suite @ Caesar's Palace which they lovingly refer to as "The Hangover Suite" from the movie and that's one of our front runners! I'm almost more excited about Vegas now than Mexico, since I've been planning Mexico now for over 2 years!

WOW! 4 suitcases is impressive. Will the airlines let you check 6 bags (thinking of your clothes)? I'm jealous in that I wish I enjoyed wedding planning enough to put as much into the details as you have. You are going to have the most fabulous wedding!

I checked with our airline and they will let us bring 5 bags with a combined weight of... I forgot but it's written at home :) I am going to weigh them all and measure them and all that fun stuff. I have my MOH bringing one of my bags for me and giving a few other things to my girls to bring.

I even bought those space bags for my clothes so I can pack lots of them in my suitcases.

This is exactly why I'm packing now so I'm not rushed and freaking out soon. Most of the bulk is OOT bag stuff, I went pretty overboard and the bags are big heavy canvas beach bags for my girls and 30 paper lanterns is taking up some space as well. I'm also bringing all my candles which is making things quite heavy.

Thank you thank you thank you!! You all make me blush blush2.gif I had so much fun doing the shoot!

My book won't be ready before we leave for Mexico, so my gift to him on our wedding day is a framed print of one of the pictures. I couldn't resist so I actually ordered two prints, one that's bedside-table appropriate and one that should be hidden in a drawer! I'll put the second one in the frame behind the first and will surprise him with it. I wish I had the book but it's my own fault for waiting until the last minute to book the shoot.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
