My in laws wouldn't dare do that to me mostly because they know I would punch everyone of their lights out - even so I can't stand them and his sister is NOT invited to the wedding!! However that was FI's decision which I was only too glad to agree to and if i'm honest I probably convinced him she was an alchy lush that would be a pain in the arse lol

Can not just elope come back and say we're married deal with it? Do you really want the big wedding? If not you have your answer.

You can only express your feelings but unfortunately you can't cut them completely out unless you are a horrible hard faced cow like me who has managed easily to do it lol
Holy crap I understood every single word. LOL

i don't think you can not invite them unless it's what your fi wants. I think if he wants them there and you didn't invite them, he would resent you later. But that being said they have no right to say such horrible things about you. i think your fi has to set them straight and let them if they want to go to the wedding than they have to show you some respect.

          1) This is your and FI big day - if they come / or don't then don't let it spoil it

          2) Take it you are a few months pregnant- no one has a right to tell you to abort. He should keep his opinions to himself, it’s nothing to do with him. It an additional stress you should not have to deal with

          3) Sitting down at talking to them is an perfect answer but this doesn't always work. If you follow this advice, take care not to let it escalate into a full blown row. Usually this method requires maturity.

          4) You, your FI and babies are a beautiful family. Remember that saying about not letting anyone part you?

          5) If all else fails remember we all have some of those embarrassing family members we cringe at!
