Shipping Times

Recommended Posts

Hopefully there's someone out there who can help me. I'm in LA and our wedding is a little over 3 weeks (6/29). Can anyone tell me roughly how long it would take to ship a box or two to Cabo? Also, is USPS/Mexican Postal Service a totally unreliable way to ship? I'm wondering whether we'd be crazy to use the Mexican postal service. Obviously, UPS/FedEx are a lot more expensive, but replacing everything would be really costly too!

Any thoughts/help would be welcomed!

I posted a thread about shipping, from the response not a good idea to ship

So I am going bring a extra suitcase with all my wedding stuff. My mom have spent $$$ on wedding stuff for my guest, so I want to have everything with me when I arrive.

let me tell you why the mexican postal service is 100% unreliable: it is 100% VOLUNTEER. mail carriers are not paid like here in the US where its a really decent job.

there are NO actual fedex offices - fedex transfers your package over to a "local ground shipping" company, so once the package leaves fedex's hands, there is ZERO accountability or guarantee that your package will arrive ANYWHERE safely, let alone in time for your wedding.

you would spend less money to bring an extra checked piece of luggage than to ship it anyway, and for the peace of mind, dont you think it's worth it?

I constantly buy stuff in the U.S. and have it sent through USPS,UPS,DHL & Fedex and from experience this is what I found out:

DHL,UPS,Fedex: are all 100% reliable and get here in about 4-7 days.

USPS goes through the Mexican Postal service and is also reliable but....

-If you send something that is "not" permited you have to do alot of paperwork and I highly do not recommend it because you would need to know spanish and would be really hard to get it to work.

-If your product is very expensive I would not send it through USPS, it might not get here.

-If you dont mind waiting 1 month to get it here and your product is something considered legal or cheap then this is your way to go.

-If you send it through USPS make sure its something that will not break because they do not handle items with care.
