We knew she was staying at her Grandma's (my FMIL), but she wouldn't call or answer the phone and she was told that she was not staying there while they were gone.

The other 2 girls were great, and I let them know that I wasn't going to stay there next time and that it wasn't because of them. They were fine and totally understood.

I am confused as to why the mother of these children couldn't take themhuh.gif

14 is an awful age, the worst for girls in my parenting experience, they do get better. Kenda at 14 once lost her bedroom door for 5 days because I told her she better not slam the door on me, well she did so she lost her door, she has never slammed it since:)

fbil sounds selfish, and he is doing his children no favours by spoiling them, good for you for not being his doormat!

Did you actually physically remove the door? Bravo.

My sister lost her door for a week once because of the same thing. It was soooo funny. My sister is 16, spoiled and mouthy, but not to the same extent as my FI niece. My sister knows when to back off unlike some other children, and if she doesn't back off, she gets put in ther place.

As for the mother of the girls, well, that is a long complicated story, and is not a good place for them. Usually when the girls do get to spend time with her, all three of them have attitudes, and they are much worse than normal. So far this weekend, the one with the big problem has been a bit better, and my FBIL has been cracking down on her a bit more, but I think it should have been started a long time ago.

Anyway, off to work I go and then back out camping!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
