Is anyone doing OOT bags and favors?

Recommended Posts

Okay, I am going crazy. I am putting together my OOT bags and I am trying to decide if wedding favors should be given out at the end of the reception. The OOT Bags will be given at the welcome dinner and I am having a 4 hour reception for the day of the wedding. Some of family members are saying that we should do favors because people are going to be expecting them.

We are only giving those that are staying at the resort OOT Bags so now I feel like I am obligated to give wedding favors. Not to mention we will be having between 85 - 95 guests!!!$$$

What are you guys doing regarding favors? and if you are giving favors, what kind are you giving?

I was also thinking about this. I am not sure now that you mention it. It is going to cost extra money to include favors. My OOT bags were going to be generic everyday items but I wanted to give favors so that everyone can have a nice momento for the wedding. I was just searching yesterday for favor ideas, it's very early for me so I am still looking around. I was thinking of giving the men brass compasses and the women embroidered handkerchiers (DIY Lord help me) and I would put them in those straw boxes. That is probably going to cost me. I will see how my budget gets, and if I can't do it, I just won't. I don't think peope care that much about favors anyways. Less stuff to carry home.

You do have alot of guests however and after you do the OOT bags, maybe it won't be a big deal that they don't get a favor. They will be so impressed by the OOT bags smile123.gif

But fsil had her wedding in mexico a couple of years ago and she gave out margarita drink mix packets, they were really cute and easy to bring with you. I'm sure you could get them for a decent price.

I am doing both...

I liked the starfish wine toppers because they go with the theme and they are practical...everyone can use a wine stopper. Plus mom went and had them engraved w/ our names and date. I bought plastic wine glasses at the party store and I am going to put the starfish inside then put sand in the glass and tie a ribbon around it and have them placed on the guestbook table.

Oh Danielle I love those photo albums, do you remember where you got them? I was just going to do OOT bags. We are trying to keep costs down. I guess I look at it as the OOT bags are the favors you just get them early.

I gave out OOT bags & favors. I gave out the OOT bags at the welcome dinner & I had the coordinator put the favors on each person's plate at the reception.

I also used the same starfish favors that Michelle posted. They worked out great. I wasn't sure about the quality when I received them, but for the price they were a great buy. We also only had about 25-30 guests so it wasn't too expensive.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
