That exactly why I chose Villa Capri. Our immediate families and close friends will be able to stay there and we will have the reception on the deck.

VC is the biggest villa on the island and most villas are located in the northern end. I guess since Soufriere is quieter and more romantic, there isn't a need for large accommodations. Have you decided on exact locations yet?

Hi Kristy,

Actually I was booked with Windjammer to have my wedding and reception there, but I wanted something a different, so I decided to contact Awesome caribbean. I am very pleased with there service and response. They are giving me so many options to choose from. I actually decided to have my wedding ceremony at a private beach in Pigeon Island and doing a full reception at 1461 restaurant which is right by the water. I am so exicted about it.

Thanks for all your advice. Hope your plans are going well.

Kristy,

The flowers are beautiful. Nice pick... I having family from NY, CA, and also London. How much are you paying for the tickets? Did you book them already? Right now flights from JFK to St.Lucia is around $700-$780. I was hoping to get them under $600, but given with the 10% discount I don't think that will happen.

For the flights, we have people flying from all different cities (New York, Boston, Chicago, Miami, Vegas, Columbus, and Washington DC), so we didn't block out seats on one flight. We did the wedding discount which is 10% off a round trip ticket from any airport to the wedding destination. It is valid for one week before your wedding date and one week after it. With a little negotiating, I got them to extend that a little bit, so they can be flexible. Just go to American Airlines' website and click on group travel. It's super easy to set up.

Now let's see, a ginger lily. Ah, here we are...

Not the greatest pics, but they'll work. I want to stick with all local flowers and I just fell in love with the ginger lily last year. It's not a typical wedding flower, but that makes it special to me!

Hi Trini,

Welcome... Glad to see there is another St. Lucia bride out there. When are you getting married? I was going to have my wedding at the Windjammer resort, but I decided to go outside the resort. The resort does have a WC, but I wanted something different, so I decided to contact Awesome Caribbean planner. so, right now I am in the middle of planning my wedding at a Private beach in Pigeon Island.

How about your what are you plans. Where are you getting married and having the reception?

It is so beautiful and not overrun by tourists. I am using Awesome Caribbean Weddings as my wedding planner. Is anyone else working with them?

I am SO jealous! I wanted 1461 to cater my wedding, but the morning I was going to confirm with them, another wedding booked. voodoo.gif I was so upset because their food was EXACTLY what I wanted and Frederic was so good with communication.

My parents just booked their flights for $638 I think. That's including the discount. FI and I have multi-city itineries (NY to St Lucia to Punta Cana and back to NY) and that was around $860 with the discount. It's unfortunate that the flights are so expensive, but that's how it is everywhere. I just went ahead and booked because I doubt they're going to go down and I didn't want to worry about it anymore. Have you set up the discount with American yet?

Trini bride,

If you are working with Awesome Caribbean you can ask them to send you a menu I am sure they can do that.

How is everything else going?

Thanks Kristy for the restaurant info!

vluv61109: I need to start getting serious about designing my invitations and sending them out. I am also looking for a photographer. I have looked at all of the local photographers work and I am not very impressed. I have looked at some of the photographers who work in Mexico and there work is so much more dynamic and it tells a story. It just seems that it is difficult to find someone in St Lucia who is able to do the same level of work. I may have to bite the bullet and bring my own photographer which is quite costly.

How are you wedding plans going ?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
