Going to Sandals Jamaica 4/7-12/2008 any ?? or pics needed?

Recommended Posts

Hello Ladies & Gents!

I am so excited to be going back to Jamaica in a couple of weeks. I am going courtesy of Sandals on a DW specific trip! We'll be meeting with the wedding coordinators & vendors.

Our tentative itinerary is :

Beaches Sanday Bay

Sandals Whitehouse

Sandals Grande Ocho Rios

While at each of these properties we will be visiting the others- in Negril, Montego Bay & Ocho Rios!

For those of you considering a Sandals DW do you have any specific questions or photo's that you would like taken?

Just feel free to post in this thread and when I get back I'll answer hear also!

Ohhh, if you happen to stop by Beaches Boscobel, I would love some pics!

Mostly just of the ceremony and reception sites. We are getting married on the beach, but my WC says she can't show me any pictures of it set up for weddings, except the general Sandals ones which aren't even all available!

I am getting married May 18th at SGOR. I would like to see samples of some of the possible wedding sites. It is just 4 of us so nothing too crazy..lol I would like to be close to the water.

I am also curious about the dress codes for the different resturants. I don't want to overdress or underdress.

Also if you get a chance to check out the rooms and end up in the Rivera building. I would love to see what the rooms look like too. We are staying in the Grande Lux Oceanview I believe.

Of course any pictures are nice so anything you get I would love to see!!! There just don't seem to be alot of Sandals brides on here to ask these question of.

Yayyy!! I'm also at SGOR on May 17, 2008. Photos of the various wed sites would be great...as well as photos of the chairs used for outdoor ceremonies. I will be hosting 40 guests for my wedding though.

Could you also get pictures of these sites for me? This will help me choose which locatioins to host these two events!

WELCOME COCKTAIL LOCATIONS:

Garden Pool (Riviera) - up to 40 pax

Trellis Deck (Manor)

Roman Gazebo Lawn (Manor)

High Mountain Deck (Manor)

High Mountain Ballroom (Manor)

Manor Lawn (Manor - close to Trellis Deck)

Beach Club Pool Deck (Beach Club)

Rehearsal Dinner Location Options:

Bayside Restaurant (Riviera)

Indoors San Genarro Restaurant ( Beach Club)

Thanks so much for doing this! smile159.gif

I'm getting married at SGOR on May 21, 2008. We already have our wedding/reception site picked out - Reef Terrace Gazebo, which overlooks the ocean. A photo of that area would be terrific. We're going with the Preston Bailey Floral Elegance Collection, so any inside info you can get on that would be great as well! I'm so glad to see that there's other SGOR brides here - great way for us to share our specific planning experiences and ideas!

You have to be jamaicabride from weddingchannel, righthuh.gif I am glad to see you joined this forum too! I saw the wedding date and the Preston Bailey package and knew it was you.:-) Did you find out if the package was for sure available for your date? Maybe TAjennifer will be able to find something out (real pictures or whatever) about that for you. How did you already pick your spot?

Yes that's me! It's a small world! We just found out late this week that the package we want is definitely available, so I'm officially a Preston Bailey Bride as our WC put it in her email. In order for her to officially book the package for us, we needed to pay in full (since we're less than 60 days out) and select our location. She sent us 2 pictures - one of a gazebo in the garden on the Manor side, and one of the Reef Terrace Gazebo overlooking the ocean on the Riviera side. We choose the Reef Terrace Gazebo - it looks gorgeous and it should complement the package well!

The one thing making me nervous at this point is that my hair and make-up appts at the resort don't start until 11 am and the wedding is at 1 pm. the trial run of my hair took just about an hour, so that would leave 1 hour for make-up, getting dressed and getting to the ceremony site! I guess I'll be flying by the seat of dress - haha!

That is awsome that you know exactly where you are getting married. I think saw a picture of the Reef Terrace. It looks awsome. I guess since I did not upgrade we just pick our site when we get there from what I understand. I am pretty flexible. I just want to be close to the water or atleast have and ocean view. That is why I am getting married there. If I wanted a garden I could've gotten married in Ohio:-)! You should be OK with the hair appointment at that time. It might be a tight schedule but I am sure they are used to working with that! Did you get any of the picture packages? I am alittle concerned about the picture quality. I have seen examples and they are not anything spectacular. I wish you could hire your own photographer!

Owell.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
