I've got a problem here.....

My uncle was supposed to be our wedding ceremony music. He was going to play the guitar. He's a really good musican and it's free but my mom just informed me that she doesn't think he can do it. He might not be able to make it. So I go searching for some other musicans and wanted something unique so I asked Jill Higgins, being that she's in the Charleston area, if she had any recommendations and she turned me on to this Bob Williams guy.

He's really nice and the duo is awesome, it's a guitar and violin duo and they do have an awesome repotoire......he has a lot of Ben Folds who is my FAVORITE! The problem is...........they charge $450 an HOUR! Our dj is $600 for 4 hours!

Trust me I know about the talent and the equipment I get all that I'm a photographer. But I just have a hard time justifing this to my FI. He will flip! I really need to stop the spending...... S&M.gif

So any advice?

How long is your ceremony? If it is only a 1/2 hour can you negotiate 1/2 price? I guess my opinion is if music is important to you then go for it, its your wedding day. Flowers are important to me, so I am getting centerpieces. Its just a matter of priorites.

Yeah it's important.....but not sure it's that important. But that's a good point I just figured having music playing while everyone is taking their seats and waiting for the ceremony to start....we have about 100 guests and every thing is happening in the same house, ceremony upstairs, reception downstairs and outside. I guess I could call and ask my dj if they could recomend anyone. I just really liked the uniquness of the music.....but will anyone really remember it?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
