HI I am new to this site and just starting to figure my way through it. I am at the beginning stages of planning and getting really excited.

I am getting married Memorial Day at the Paradisus in rivera Maya.

Right now I am in a desperate cry to find picutres at the Bistro Terrace at the Paradisus in rivera Maya.... anyone have there wedding there and can help?

Thanks!!

Rachel

Congrats, Lauren! Sounds like a beautiful wedding! Can't wait to see your pics. Quick question about your rehearsal dinner - did you guys pay to have a special event at the Mexican restaurant? I'm trying to avoid paying for this and instead just do an "all-inclusive" dinner for us and our guests. We're expecting 35 adults and 9 kids. In order to do this we'd most likely be split up into separate tables, but just after dinner we could have all our guests reconvene near a bar area (maybe outside?) to give the toasts and gifts.

Abegail, Welcome! I'm getting nervous about all the details too - making decisions and communicating them to Perla - yikes! We're doing the iPod thing with our own playlists and we also want to air our concert DVDs on the slideshow screen. We're looking into hiring someone to "man" this. Maybe a DJ - not sure yet.

Bumbles, we're doing the Chill-Out on the Terrace with a buffet, but our quote didn't include open bar. We're paying extra for that. Any advice on what we should do?

As always, all of your help is much appreciated!!!

Thanks!

Brooke

My date is Oct 16! Perla never responds to me and I need serious help! are you guys using dj's? I am having 40 adults and 3 kids and doing chill out chic on the terrace. Do they just decorate however you want?

is it normal that Perla has come off as unhelpful?

Thanks... im getting nervous about the details
Hey Abegail,

Not to worry. They will decorate everything however you want it, whether you bring your own decorations or pay to use the resorts. Perla is usually much more responsive the closer your day is. As long as you have an idea of what you want, she can get everything done rather quickly. I dont think she has dropped the ball yet for any of the brides on the forum. Good luck with your planning. Check out the search tool at the top of the forum. There are many reviews from other brides about Paradisus if you want to check them out. :)

Hi, I have e-mailed through the paradisus website and have not heard back from anyone (it's only been 2 days but I feel quite impatient)... does anyone have a direct e-mail address for a WC at the Paradisus?

Also -- I'm considering this and a few other resorts -- the barcelo maya palace, the grand palladium, & the ocean turquesa... any advice on which is best? Or I guess since this is the paradisus thread, why did you choose the paradisus over some of the others?

(and I was 99.9% set on the Barcelo palace until I started looking around more and discovered the paradisus, the turquesa, and the grand palladium..... )

Hi Ladies,

congrats to all you brides!

I just recently had to switch my hotel from the Grand Riviera Princess to the Paradisus Riviera due to flight/wedding day scheduling issues. It has been a really stressful time for me and my FI. We are hopefully still getting married the last week in November- still waiting for the hotel availability.(crossing my fingers things will work out).

I was wondering if any one had any informaton on the wedding packages prices, wedding locations options, advise etc that would be willing to share. for some reason I can't open the attachements on this forum. (my email is : [email protected]).

I would really appreciate any information you can share!

Bride to be,

Parissa

OK paradisus brides -- who is having the Aqua package and if you are, were you able to switch the menu around? Here's the info I got from the WC:

Hors D´oeuvres:

Shrimp with Pineapple

Tuna mousse on toasted rounds

Prosciutto with Melon Pearls

The Aqua Menu:

Green mix salad

Rigatoni Pomodoro

Baked fish in tomato and basil sauce

Honestly the apps sound okay but the dinner sounds not that great (for $90pp after 20 people) -- so I'm wondering if anyone was able to change up the menu or hors d'ouevres ?

I have people attending that don't eat seafood (not allergic, just don't like it) and would like to have a meat option.. .

thanks

Hi Girls - I found this not too long ago on the Paradisus resorts website. You may have already seen it, but thought I'd pass it along. It's their newest downloadable brochure (PDF). http://www.paradisus.com/images/ParadisusEBrochure.pdf

Also, here's the link to their romance packages - Paradisus All Inclusive Luxury Resorts - Weddings Packages at Paradisus Resorts - All-Inclusive Wedding Destinations

I'm pretty sure you can modify the menus for all the packages, though you may pay more.

Also, we're thinking of doing a sunset ceremony. Can anyone tell me a specific time to print on the invitations? Or I'm open to suggestions if you think there's a better time before sunset. Any advice helps!

Thanks!

Brooke

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
