Paradisus Riviera Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

That makes me feel better - gives me time to think about invitations. I don't think we're going go to to the passport route but we want something unique. Will have to scout ideas.

Random question for you guys, and my apologies if this is somewhere else on the board and i haven't seen it...Did you guys get insurance for your whole wedding or your trip? Our TA offers decent insurance on the room and flight, which I think is a good idea since we'll be there at the cusp of hurricane season, but I've read in a few places now advice to insure your whole wedding given that its in another country and things like swine flu, governments, hurricanes etc. happen.

Have you guys gotten insurance for any part of your wedding? From Where? do you think its worth it?

I am planning on bringing my own bows ... my question to them was do i need to bring enough for both the ceremony and the reception or will they help me move them to the reception site? For 99 cents I guess I should just get enough for both.

I feel better now about $6/piece! My FI is a graphic designer and wants to do them himself. I just think it would be a lot less stressful if we got someone else to do them!

I did not opt to get insurance for either as of right now. My TA said I can add the insurance to the trip at any time but hadn't thought about the whole wedding. What is the cost for that and do you do that through the Paradisus?

Also, I am having some second thoughts about bringing my own photographer ... what are you ladies doing? Is it only the one photographer that they recommend without the outside vendor fee? My budget is bursting at the seams already and the thought of spending over $3k for a photog is scaring me a bit but I don't think I can do any better either way.

I've heard good things about Samuel Luna but his package is around $3800 than you have to pay the $300.

Advice?

We are going with Samuel Luna and I believe he has less expensive packages than that (depending what you want/how many hours you want). We do have to pay the fee also. I liked his portfolio best out of the photographers in our price range. We still have almost 5 months until the wedding, but I'll let you know how it goes.

I've been wondering about hair and make up as well. I am not so lucky ... nobody attending does hair or make up!! My sister is pretty good with make up so I guess I could have her do it. I really want to wear fake eyelashes for the wedding but have no idea how to put them on and would hate for them to come off during ... how funny would that be??!?!! I wonder if there is a make up artist that you can have come to the resort (without paying the $300 vendor fee)? Probably not!

Lauren, I got your pm ... I'll definitely contact her to see what her prices are and if she's available!

Still no word from Cecilia or Daniella from anyone?

None of you guys are going through destinationweddings.com? We (meaning my agent and I) are not dealing with Daniela or Cecilia at all... going through Theresa who is in charge of all the Paradisus' she seems to be on top of everything and gets back to us ASAP... I know I said this before but I thought DW weddings is suppose to be easier than having it in our home towns LOL

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
