Hi! I'm getting married at GRM in Jan 2018! We are also thinking about using outside flowers as it is just SO ridiculous with Lomas. We finally decided on the Shine Band with PartyMusicEvents. They got a lot of good reviews on here, online, and you can watch some performances on youtube. Even though we haven't had our wedding yet, I would recommend them so far, particularly because our package included a lot of extras like dance floor, DJ to play inbetween sets, photo booth, that probably saved us thousands by not having to use Lomas. We are also thinking about getting a wedding cake from an outside vendor. I was told that as long as the vendor does not come ON site there won't be a fee, so we may have wedding party guests help out with picking up items outside the hotel. We're doing a welcome bonfire the night before, which should be fun! We are doing the ceremony AND reception on the skydeck, with a cocktail hour on the pier in between to allow time to change the set up. We are using the pure glamour package for the basic set up. We are using the only photographer in the Lomas package that has the drone option, per future husbands request for a drone lol. Let me know any fun details/plans you have!

We are getting married at GRM Jan 2018 and everyone is staying next door at El Dorado Royale. We are using the band from www.partymusicevents.com I have been emailing with Jessica V. about it and she is very quick to respond and very helpful. They are actually a party planning company so we are also doing some decorations, ceremony violin music, and the photobooth through them. We negotiated the outside vendor fees to only 1200 since it is the same company! Given their prices it was cheaper to do this rather than go through the hotel vendors, even with the fees. We looked at a lot of different bands, this one (The Shine Band) had a good song list and were relatively talented. Some others were good singers/musicians but their song list was very limited (IMO). Also the price included a DJ inbetween band the 4, 45 min band sets. Most everything else we are doing through the hotel vendor to avoid the fees - flowers, food, cake, photography (most worried about this one, praying its not a huge mistake; we are using Bridal Moments if anyone else has used them please let me know!). We are doing our ceremony on sky deck, cocktail hour on pier, reception on sky deck. I'm getting pretty excited as the date gets nearer!

HI everyone! Wanted to ask your opinion since you are considering/have chosen Ziva as your destination. We are visiting in November to make a final choice between Ziva and Palace resorts. My communication with Ziva has been so HORRIBLE I am considering not even going. I'm not talking about delayed e-mails or being a diva about response time... This lady has repeatedly e-mailed me with conflicting answers, a new person responds to an e-mail who I have never spoken to, or they (obviously) don't read the e-mail and continue to ask me the same questions/demand the same information that I have already provided. It's driving me crazy. Anybody else deal with this?? The lady's name is Ivonne. M

Hi @@Stacsoontobeegan ! My SO and I are planning a 2018 destination wedding also and are looking in the same areas! We are planning a site visit to the Cancun/Playa Del Carmen area in November and will be visiting Generations Riviera Maya as that is on our list as well. Thanks so much for your review, it's great to hear another perspective on the some of the same resorts we are entertaining as our prospective wedding site in January 2018. I'm excited to see Hyatt Ziva and a few others in the Playa Del Carmen area, but I think I'm already pretty sold on Hyatt as well!
