Kristen, I am not sure if you already booked it or not but I also am planning on marrying there this June! The process has been easy and smooth with the wedding planners and they were flexible on me finding a photographer outside of the resort! If you still are looking for one I highly recommend visiting www.OctavioMontes.com. He was cheaper than the resorts photographer and the pictures are great quality! I have changed my mind about what I need for that day many times and every time he gladly works with me and re quotes me. I hope you enjoy your wedding!

I am also having a destination wedding coming up soon! I am getting married at the Barcelo Colonial Maya. I do not know about everyone else but finding a photographer was super stressful! I finally found one on another destination wedding forum if anyone is still looking for one! He was the most reasonable priced for the quality of the pictures so I definitely suggest looking into it if you still are needing a photographer! I choose to use the Barcelo Maya Colonial! So far I have been impressed with the wedding planners and the resort is beautiful. I did use an outside vendor for my photography. The hotel does charge you a fee however his services were still cheaper with the hotels fee than using the photographer they provide. I choose to use www.OctavioMontes.com and he has been great! He responds back quickly and price quotes me on all of my ideas even when I change my mind a million times. I found him while looking at these forums and I definitely suggest using Barcelo and Octavio as your photographer if you need one! The prices of his packages and the quality made my decision easy. So don't fret if you choose Barcelo you still have great vendor options!
