Hello, I'm wondering which one of the Grand Palladium resorts these pictures were taken at? Do you happen to know if this area of the beach has a certain name? Hi ladies, I've been trying to choose a resort for my DW in April-May 2016 ever since I got engaged in Sept 2014! I am having the hardest time choosing one! I thought I had it narrowed down to two: Barcelo Maya Beach or Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal. But after gathering more details about wedding packages and extra costs, the Barcelo seems to be very expensive! I'm now thinking the Grand Palladium might be a better resort to consider... my dilemma now is which GP resorts to choose - White Sands, Colonial, etc.?!! I'm trying to research, but there's so many reviews and stuff to read, it's overwhelming! Please, any help in choosing one of these resorts would be SO appreciated. Some details, my group is about 20-30 people, probably no kids. I want my ceremony on the beach (private area if possible) and my dinner/reception either on the beach or poolside. Thanks!

Tlseege, Thank you so much for this information! I love the photos from Nikki & Tim's GBP wedding, it's everything I want for mine! Is this the "hammocks" beach location? And do you know what they call that pool area where they had their reception? I read that they recently painted those posts (not sure what that thing is called) white and a lot of people don't like it and are switching to the Tulum beach site. Which area is more private - the Tulum or Akumal beach ceremony site? My travel agent told me that the beach area to the far end at the Barcelo complex (opposite end then the Palace) is more private then at GBP. She thought it was a nicer, prettier beach area. Have you seen this location? Does the GBP have a disco? I'd like to have somewhere fun to continue the party after the reception ends and I know the Barcelo has a good nightclub. Which resort did you think had nicer rooms (have you stayed in an oceanview?) and did GBP give you a free room upgrade? Thanks again, this helped a lot!

Also, did you feel like the beach ceremony was private enough, or are there people surrounding you and in the background of your pictures? Thanks!

Hello! I am trying to choose a resort for my 2016 wedding and think I have narrowed it down to the 2 subject resorts. Has anyone been to either or both of these resorts who could give me some advice on which to choose? They both have pros and cons but I cannot make a decision!! Hello past, present, and future brides! I am having such a difficult time choosing a resort.. I thought I had a list of places I liked until I met with a travel agent and got some suggestions from her based on her own travel experience and her client's most popular choices. She highly recommended the Barcelo Maya Caribe because of the new renovations and the Barcelo company has a great reputation anyway. She also suggested the Palladium, but informed me that the beach ceremony area isn't set-up away from other tourists and they always end up in your pictures. She pretty much sold me on the Caribe, but when I came home and did some research it seemed the Caribe didn't have as good of reviews on tripadvisor as I had hoped. I'm so torn! I don't know if I should choose one of these, or none of these! Please, if there's anyone who has had or attended a wedding at either of these places, or can give me any advice I would really appreciate it! I feel like pulling my hair out right now! lol. Thanks guys!

Hello, my wedding is 15 months away and I'm still trying to pick a resort! It's overwhelming to try and choose just one! Some resorts allow you to have your dinner and reception right on the beach in the sand. I haven't seen anyone post that FAC has this option available. Can anyone comment on this, whether or not it is possible? Thanks!
