  1. I emailed the WC last week, and that was one of my concerns, since we're having an ipod for the ceremony and reception, we asked if she could dedignate someone to control the ipod and she told me no, we woukd have to provide someone to do it! We're having less than 20 people attend our wedding, so I feel like it's going to be super awkward if one of our guests have to stand there changing music... I sent this earlier, did tou receive it?
  2. I'm really slacking on this thread the past few days! Has anyone started their playlist? I have a lot of music picked out for then processional/ceremony but how long should I make it? I figure the ceremoby is at 4, guests will sit at 330, so atleast a half an hour and then the ceremony
  3. I received it, thank you! I didn't realize that was the budget sheet, I already have that, lol oops. (:'m really slacking on this thread the past few days! Has anyone started their playlist? 4. I'm from Moriches, Long Island! Getting married at the Now Jade in Riviera Maya, September 2014! (:
  5. can't wait to read your review!Super excited, we have OFFICIALLY booked Gonzalo Nunez! I've also contacted Pilar about our day, and Isela responded. She seems exremely organized, and is more than reasonable! I messaged her exactly how I want everything and shared my concerns, and I had nothing but POSITIVE feedback! We are thrilled!
  6. We are also doing an engagement party in June for our wedding in September, rather than have an AHR when we get back. At first we were a little iffy about having the engagememt party bc people may be insulted that they're not invited to the wedding, but it's something that our parents are putting together for us. We were going to do an AHR afterwards, but by the time we get our video and photos from the wedding, it's going to be time for holidays and winter weather, and it's just not worth it for us
  7. Thanks everyone for the quick feedback! I definitely think I'm going to include a little note card of some sort with our invites, and have all of the website info and menu options. The website contains plenty of travel info and everything they need to know for the wedding, as well as the rsvp link. We're going to create a little travel brochure/ itinerary for guests when they arrive. Ahhh! So much to do!!
  8. My guest list is very small to begin withh, so I was thinking maybe o putting like a small starfish cutout with the website info and menu options, bascially a response card with no return postage! I need to think quickly! Thanks for the input !!
  9. it's definitely on the gluten free menu! That's one of our choices! Chicken Breast stuffed with spinach and mushroom, served with vegetable rolls in a citrus sauce
  10. Here comes the Bridal hormones, crying. I can't! That was beautiful!! Was the video done by the resort or outside vendor?
  11. Ok ladies, help me out! I ordered really nice Passport Invitations from Zazzle, (super cheap, score!) and now my only question is, response cards? I set up a website on The Knot and wanted to know if it was cheesy to set up an Online RSVP? I think it makes sense, and saves some money on postage, etc. BUT, along with the passport invites, I wanted to include the website info, etc. How should I go about doing this? AHHH! Help!
  12. Crossing my fingers! I finally messaged Pilar about our Wedding.. Wish me luck! Oh, Nerves!
  13. I just booked Gonzalo Nunez, for my Wedding in September. His work is outstanding, and his prices are more than reasonable, some photographers in the area are asking more than double of what he is.. And his reviews are excellent. Check it out.. WWW.GONZALONUNEZ.COM
  14. Me too! We wanted this nice intimate wedding, and I know I'm getting a little out of hand with decorating and hiring an outside photographer but it's our wedding! Those pictures will be ours forever and I want them to be amazing! We're also going to have disposable cameras for the reception with an "I Spy" game. But that's it! I just want our first dance and parents dance. Neither my fiance or I dance, or party so the whole dj party thing isn't worth it lol. Also why we chose the Jade and not a resort in Cancun, so relaxing!
  15. I've worked in catering for 3 years, so I feel like it definitely helps the planning, lol. We're not using a DJ, I wanted to bc I want someone to lead us for everything but I heard there's no switching and isn't worth the price.. We're going to make assorted playlists and designate someone to control it. It the wedding planning form that pilar sent, she asks for times of everything (cake cutting, dances) so I'm going to just cross my fingers that it all goes well! I've yet to email her , I'm kind of nervous, so I'm trying to sort everything out and send her all my questions and concerns at once. I have a list ready, I'm just procrastinating!
  16. only 131 more posts to go! waaaah

  17. I love the terrace, it's just outside of fhe bamboo room, while we were vacationing there last year, we saw a wedding reception in the bamboo room, they had only 2 small tables of 8, and a guitarist. I feel like they use a divider to tighten the room bc I dont recall it looking weird at all. But they didn't have dancing, they went up to the sportsbar afterwards. And I'm getting married in Sept and the mosquitoes are brutal at night, so I won't even consider castaways. Lol
  18. The bamboo room! It's very pretty and overlooks the ocean, and still leaves ton of privacy. We were concerned about the room being too large so we decided against having one large rectangular table. We want people to mingle and I also think that breaking up the tables will help fill the room. We want a sweetheart table facing 4 tables of 6, (8 might be too tight, want everyone to be comfortable) and we're going to have a welcome table for place cards and some kind of photos collage! I think it will be perfect! I also bought a ton of paper lanterns so that helps the room out a lot. How about you?
  19. I know!!! Lucky for us, we're having a small wedding (less than 25 people) so the cost isn't too horrific lol. I think I'm the only bride on BDW with a small guest count. But they have gold tiffany chairs, and our wedding colors are teal/mint/coral/gold. And it looks so much more elegant on the pergola than the white chairs that come with the package.. but we'll see! (: I'm wondering the same thing, we were thinking about using the saxophonist for the cocktail hour for guests while we do bride + groom pics, and having a playlist from an ipod for ceremony and reception. I wonder if youtube has any videos of weddings with the instrumentalist. Ahhh yes the sweetheart table! I'm still getting used to my tablet, haha. Oops!
  20. Has any past brides used the tiffany chairs? Wondering how much more they would cost to upgrade. I feel like I need to have theseee (:
  21. Does anyone know if the sweetheart is included or if there is an addditional charge?
