  1. Well over the last few days I have had lots of communication with Isela and as we have a total of 25 in our group we have decided that the Divine package is our best option. We have made some changes to the day and instead of getting married at 11am @ the Beach, cocktail hr 4-5pm at the Orange Lounge (I may try and change it to the blue beach bar if its available) and reception 7-10pm @ castaways. It would have been difficult trying to keep everyone together from 11am and a long day to be wearing my dress! I feel more settled now that we have a private reception rather than an al a carte one. Only downside is that we are not in a position to upgrade the photography so will only have the one in the divine package i guess we will just have to rely on pictures from friends and family, it's a good job they are all snappy happy. Feel excited now 5 weeks xxxx

i think you will have to pay for a sound system 165 usd.  We have just upgraded to the Devine package from the moments package too.  I will have them play at the ceremony and hired a sound system to play my ipod at the reception.

I have the Divine but we hired an outside photographer, I think you can have them take extra pictures if you go with the resort photographer but you might be charged more money (not too sure).

I believe only the white table cloth is included any other colors you have to pay extra.

Since we are getting married the same day! I was wondering where you chose your reception area? We have the Terrace right now and have 30 people attending, we might change to the Bamboo room.

    Hi

Well we were initially tailoring our wedding as we have the moments package but everything is adding up so we was going to have  our reception in one of the restaurants but and i received an email this morning from Isela Juarez recommending that we upgrade to either the eternity or the Devine, after looking at them both they are within our budget and there is so much more included except for the photography package which is only 1 hour, I wanted them to cover the getting ready, ceremony and then family photo's.

I wonder if they will allow us to upgrade to the 3 hours and we just pay the difference in cost?

So we have not chosen a reception area yet....leaving it late I know but as I said we were having a restaurant reception but I have gone off that idea now lol.

I really think I am going to go with the devine and try and increase or maybe swap the guitarist for extra photgraphy time :-)

We are having a legal wedding so we have to pay for blood tests aswell :-(

In terms of the white line, i am happy with that because i will be having hope pink bows on the chairs and I will be taking hot pink favours for the table so i am sure it will all look lovely.

Not long now :-)  I have heard there are hurruicanes in Mexico at the moment hope it clears for when we arrive

  4. Hi,

We are considering upgrading to the Devine Package, but my only concern is the photographer is only for the ceremony.....are there any brides out there that had the divine package and used the photgrapher? if so what photo's did he take and were you happy with them?

Did they do any group photo's, Photo's on the beach etc, romantic photos of the bride and groom?

also if you did use have the devine package are the linen table clothes all included in the package or do we have to pay extra for them?

    Thank you

    Sarah

I actually loved my hair the day of and I am crazy weird about my hair! Just bring a photo and they'll do exactly what you ask!

Best of luck to you ladies!

I am not paying for a trial so I am pleased to hear this.  I have a few pictures so hopefully all will work out :-)

It stinks not getting anything answered or addressed in a timely manner!

When do you get married Hun?

I have had no contact at all apart from one email to confirm all my contact details......I get married in 10 weeks.

I have NO idea where I am having a reception! completely NO idea how much everything is going to cost.

I guess I will just have to wait until I am there and hope for the best :-(

Ok so now I'm having a problemo.. My plan was to have my fiancé in a suit and the groomsmen in the same color pants and just a white shirt. Well , we bought the suit but cannot find matching pants!!' The color is called taupe I believe , it's like a mix between tan and grey but it's like impossible to find a matching pant. Every color is a tad different in the shade.

Is it going to be weird if my fiancé wears his suit and the guys just get a color as close as I can find to the suit color?

i think it would look quite nice and he will stand out from the grooms men which is what you want to happen.  We were fortunate to have the pants in the same colour as the suit but if they didnt have them I would have been more than happy to have the groomsmen in a few shades different.

It's not terrible . Would I ask to be moved from there just because we're on vacation and spent a lot of money to enjoy our time yes. But again, it's not unbearable just unpleasent in those areas as you walk past.

Thanks Emma......Thats horrendous! $20 per room per NIGHT!!!!! shocking.  I am sorry but that is a bloomin cheek asking for extra money! I will kick up a fuss at check in if any of my guests are put in buildings 1-3!!!

I dont want to go on holiday/get married to smell sewers!!!! I hope it doesnt ruin our stay :-(

Still can't figure out why a lot of brides say otherwise. Oh well--just wanted to share our experience! If your on a budget, do not hesitate to use them ;-)

Thats great news, we will be using Adventure Photo's so this has put a smile on my face :-)

Julestwin, this is the info I recieved off Pilar as we also have the moments package and are currently looking at having our reception at one of the restaurants (depending on budgets we may ask if we can pay the $500 to have this on the terrace to make it a little more private.

As you will see there are 2 restaurant options to have your reception, however you will be able to choose from 4 the menu's from the following restaurants

    spice

    capers

    mercure

    tamarindo

I do have copies of the menus so i will try and upload them, alternatively send me your email and I will email them to you, I also have the spa prices for hair and make up that Olivia sent me a couple of months ago, I could pop this on email too.

    Hope this helps ................

So the photographer my fiancé and I were going to fly out is no longer going. I was wondering if any brides used the resort photographers and how much was full day with the divine package? Also, how is their work? I am not a picture person but for the big day i want to make sure we get great pics! We don't like traditional wedding pictures either. Any suggestions? Any decent priced photographers in the area?

    thanks!!!

    Hi Michelle,

We have the moments package so we will be adding the resorts photographer to our package, I too am not a photo person but like you, want some special pictures for the big day. i dont think we will be upgrading and will be going with the package that is in the brochure

Packages with high resolution images on disk Wedding CD package 50 high resolution images $759 on CD + photo book with all 50 images

We may change our mind when we are there but for me as long as we get photo's of the "getting Ready" "Ceremony" and "friends and family together" I will be happy. We have lots of friends and family with new high tech camera's that will be snapping away lol.

From the pictures that I have seen, i quite like their work :-)

I dont want anyone to wear a jacket since it will be so hot but i still want somewhat formal. Anyone have any ideas? or pics of what their guys wore? Im thinking just a white linen shirt and tan pants? Also, Is it weird if my FI Wears a long sleeve shirt but then guys wear short sleeveS? Not sure if i should just have all of them wear long sleeve? HELP! lol

Hi, we get married in November and My FI is wearing Sand Linen trousers and jacket (his choice) with a long sleeve white ted baker shirt, our 7 year old son wants to wear exactly the same as his dad so he will be wearing a jacket too (I tried to talk him into wearing a waist coat instead but he knows best lol) The grooms men are all wearing short sleeved linen shirts and the same colour (sand), style linen trousers as my FI.

My FI will be changing straight after photos and will be changing into a short sleeved linen shirt.

  13. Hello all, I am feeling SO torn right now. A beach wedding has always been my dream!! My fiancé definitely wants a Mexico destination wedding as well. The problem is, it's a lot to ask of people who don't know and love Mexico to spend their hard earned money to travel out of the country for our wedding- my 5 sisters and their families included. Anyone have some good advice on how to make everyone happy without spending a fortune! I feel like I'm torn between doing what me and my FI want...or having my family there. We decided what we wanted and quickly realised that certain people would probably not be able to afford it so as hard as it was we decided that the only time we would cancel was if our parents couldn't be there.........i have one sister and 4 brothers and I actually only have 1 brother out of my siblings coming ;-( we have 21 coming in total and will be having a reception on our return so you hAve to do what YOU and your fiancé want. It hurts me that my sister can not be there but we always said we would never get married in the uk. Good luck Xxxx

As everyone says when the return, DO NOT worry about a thing. If you are more than 4-6 months out, I would not even bother Pilar or Deisy. They are soooo busy and everything will be amazing. I believe I emailed them maybe 3 times since we put our deposit down in December 2011... I'm so happy I didn't bother them, I just asked most of my questions on this thread and the majority of you past brides were able to help me :) Thanks a bunch girls!

    A few more things...

    1) I was impressed with the resort photographer. We had Veronica and upgraded to the full day coverage. I love all our pics. I'm not sure why there was so many negative reviews about Adventure Photos.

    2) We had 60 guest.... Not one person got sick... If they did, we heard nothing about it. I was terrified of myself or our guest getting sick, but thankfully it wasn't the case for our group!

    3) I highly recommend having your wedding early on in your vacation. We arrived on the 12th and the wedding was on the 14th. I feel like I was able to relax and enjoy my vacation after the wedding, didn't have to worry about getting sun burned or sick! (thankfully, neither one happened!)

Oh and one more thing... I am still trying to decide if the preferred upgrade is worth the cost. We were upgraded for free to preferred ocean view as a part of our package. It was nice having access to the preferred lounge, but a few of our guest, my parents included payed anywhere from $50-$70 per day for the upgrade and I am not sure if it's worth that price. The wi-fi is spotty and you can only have 1 device, it expires after 2-3 days and you have to keep going to get a new password, the hot tub on the balcony is filthy, I often saw housekeeping cleaning others across the courtyard, but they always looked dirty.I would not get in it. The rooms are really no different than the regular suites, with the exception of the bathroom area being a little different. Having access to the preferred lounge was nice, but not worth the extra money (in my opinion)

If you have any questions, please ask away! I'll work on a review sometime soon :)

Wow! you look totally stunning!!! congratulations!

My colour theme is Hot Pink and Lemon and looking at your pics the colour stands out beautifully.  We too are using the resort photgrapher and looking at your pictures I can see we have nothing to worry about.

Cant wait to read your full review, shame about the hot tubs I was quite looking forward to using them but hey ho i guess thats only a minor issue.

I get married on 1st Nov 13 and decided that I am not going to stress myself out too much......I have had very little contact woth Pilar but we know what we want and have jotted down ideas and costs and will wait until we arrive, and then give them our budget and plans and I trust from reading info on here that the wedding team will ensure everything is pulled off.

Once again many congratulations you both looks so happy!!!!
