  1. Hi! My fiance and I just recently got back from vacation at Hard Rock Cancun. We have always stayed there (when it was Cancun Palace) and this is our first time back since it became Hard Rock. We visited Adventura for the first time and loved it too! We are planning our wedding for down there next May and are debating between having the wedding at Adventura Cove in the gazebo or at Cancun Palace on the beach. Any opinions/suggestions??? We absolutely love the gazebo and how formal it looks, but are in love with the aqua blue water in Cancun. Would really appreciate hearing from anyone or seeing pictures!!

  3. So from what I've gathered from other posts, if you have a civil ceremony (which requires a blood test), the wedding is performed in Spanish and you can either have your wedding coordinator or a family member translate it into English. If you have a symbolic ceremony (not legally married in Mexico or your choice of destination, but instead get married at the courthouse prior to leaving for your DW). I personally want my ceremony performed in English, so I am getting married in NY before I leave for Mexico and then having a symbolic wedding in Mexico. We are going to the courthouse and literally signing the wedding documents and only bringing our parents as witnesses. We are not exchanging rings or even letting anyone else know that we are legally married and having them all consider our wedding in Mexico our actual wedding (we will exchange our rings and vows in Mexico and consider that our anniversary). In doing a symbolic ceremony, the ceremony is in English, you don't have to have the blood work done, and you don't pay to have all your documents translated from English to Spanish and then back again to English to bring to the U.S. Hope this helps!!
  4. Hi Ladies, I am just trying to finalize a list with prices of all the things that I will need to purchase for my DW. I thought it might be helpful if we posted our list of things that we've purchased or reserved for our weddings. Or a to-do list. Any info helps! I need all the help I can get, especially because I am working on my Master's Degree and buying a house right now! So much going on. Thanks in advance for any help
  5. Thanks for that update! After reading all the positive reviews on this I am more at ease, yet we did decide to do a symbolic wedding because of cost.
  6. Hey ladies! So I saw a super cute idea and wanted to share it. I just recently had my engagement pictures taken and I purchased this great deal to make a sign in book for my AHR! I am making a photobook with my engagement photos and instead of having guest sign a "guest book" I am having them sign in and give best wishes to my fiance and I directly on the pages of our photobook! I purchased my book on the site that I am going to provide the link for only $9 for an 8x11 hard cover, 20 page book!!! Feel free to check out the sale by clicking my link! The sale is for 4 more days https://www.livingsocial.com/deals/624498?ref=share-link-post&rpi=108251976&rui=147313097

  8. Well, my post never appeared at all so let me try again. I am having my wedding in Mexico and I too worry about price all the time. Try to prioritize what is most important! There are many things you can do on your own to cut cost. I am doing silk flowers. I am ordering them from an eBay seller. If you pm me I can send you the link. I get to customize my colors and arrangement, for very very cheap! The reason I chose silk is so my bridesmaids can save their bouquets, I can use my centerpieces at my AHR, and the heat in Mexico won't wilt the flowers so they will look good in pictures even hours later! As for decorations I am also ordering chair sashes from eBay for roughly $1 a sash. You can probably go to a craft store and buy the material and DIY cheaper. I will also use the sashes for my AHR. So flying with me to my resort will be all my flowers, centerpieces, and sashes. As for dresses check davidsbridal.com . They have wedding dresses as cheap as $79 and bridesmaid dresses under $50. And the dresses are beautiful! With regards to photographer, I am flying a local photographer down. It is much cheaper than paying for a photographer from Mexico. By flying mine down I am getting all day coverage and a separate day for TTD for one price, as opposed to booking a photographer down there and paying per hour and for Ttd separately. Good luck and feel free to PM me for any more info :-)
  9. Oops, I think I posted to you instead of on this thread. If that happened, please let me know so I can repost correctly!
  10. Do not worry, I myself do this as well. Like said before, prioritize what is most important and what you can perhaps do without (or make and bring yourself to your resort). I am saving money by doing silk flowers. I am ordering them from a seller on ebay (I can PM you the seller if you would like to look at her colors, bouquets, arrangements). They are soooooo reasonable and can be customized to your color and liking!! I went with silk flowers for the simple fact that they are cheaper, my bridesmaids can save their bouquets, I can save my centerpieces, and the heat in Mexico won't wilt the flowers so they will still look great for pictures! I am also ordering chair sashes from an ebay seller for roughly $1 a sash (you can also go to a craft store and probably buy the material cheaper and make the sashes yourself). So when I go to my resort, I am bringing my centerpieces, my flower bouquets, my chair sashes (saving a ton of money)! With regards to dresses, try looking at davidsbridal.com . Under sale dresses, they have dresses as cheap as $70 U.S. dollars and the dresses are beautiful! The bridesmaids dresses are also very cheap and range all the way down to under $50! Finally, with regards to my photographer, it is cheaper for me to fly my photographer down to my resort than book a photographer from down there. I am getting married in Mexico and the photographers seem to be very expensive. Flying my photographer down means I get all-day coverage and then will choose another day to get back in my dress and have TTD pictures done (all for one price verse paying for each additional hour of photography and a separate price for the TTD). Just a few ideas to think of! Feel free to PM me Best of luck!
  11. Thank you for the information! I will certainly look into that!
  12. Thank you! I welcome any pictures people want to post about their decorations, flowers, bridesmaids dresses!!!
