  1. No actually we swapped out a few things. I didn't need a boutineer for the groom because all the men were wearing pocket squares instead i also didnt need a table in the middle of my ceremony underneath the arch (which also came with a centerpiece flower arrangement) so instead of the centerpiece and boutineer i asked for two arrangements as you walked down the aisle. They were more than happy to do it. From start to finish the meeting with the wedding planner lasted 1 hr. flowers, order of ceremony, arch decor, colors, cake, reception decor, food, table decor, DJ, lighting, etc. and it turned out perfect! And I'm a perfectionist.
  2. Here's some pictures of the ceremony and the dance floor before we began the reception.
  3. Everything went great! It was perfect. Beyond what I imagined. I will try to post some pics ASAP. And a few dos and don't. Stay tuned.
  4. I am getting married at the riu peninsula in cancun. We are hear right and it is extremely kid friendly and has tons of pools.
  5. Hi there. I hope I'm not invading the forum. I am a June 2013 bride, but I happened to come across this and saw that people were trying to figure out a location for their destination wedding and I thought I would give you the info I received when I chose mine. First...price. Then flight time, and weather were our major decision making factors. We figured out real quick that Mexico fit all those requirements and then we narrowed it down even easier when we figured out how much more inexpensive cancun was for what your guest would be getting with their travels. If anyone is still trying to narrow down your selection you should check out riu palace peninsula. That is where I will be having my wedding and it is next week so I will try to let you know for sure how it is. I have stayed there as a guest and loved it. I also love that it is modern, beautiful, and kid friendly with a kids facility with trained staff to watch your kids a couple hours out of the day as well. I have a 3 yr old nephew who ABSOLUTELY couldn't miss this vacation. This resort is all-inclusive with ALL drinks and eat free. No exclusions. This resort has 7 amazing restaurants, cafe, swim up bar, spa, etc. we are staying 6 nights, flying non stop from Nashville tn and the entire price per person was 1107.00. We have 43 guest coming and EVERY single person was tickled with the price. We told our travel agent to only collect 950.00 from each person and we took care of the rest. Everyone seems really excited. Anyways, heck it out. Not many pics out though because of it being a rather new hotel (may 2012).
  6. Hi everyone. I have contacted the DJ aurdiales@psav.com to request information on his services and the cost. I am waiting for a reply. I will update you all with any info I get. I saw where someone on here had mentioned they used the riu las americas photographers instead of the ones offered at our hotel so I tried to do the same and got shot down. Oh we'll it was worth a try. Honestly, each email I get from my WC tells conflicting information, prices, offers, etc. I'll forget he already gave me a price on something and ask for a quote again and it's always different. First, he told me the only option for a cocktail welcome party for 1 hr., drinks only, the evening my guest arrive was going to be 60/ person and then after I told him it was a shame that we have flown in almost 50 guest to his hotel (in the off season) and they don't offer a complimentary welcome gathering He sent an email I telling me they have a complimentary welcome party at the Tobago bar. Shew, there's no telling what the final bill will say and just from experience, it's hard to get them to adjust a bill at that hotel. I'm not putting down the hotel but for instance I remember during our stay last August we used the dry cleaning service which was picked up on a Tuesday morning. We had requested the 1 day service which cost more but worth it. We got our clothes delivered to our room that following Saturday evening before we left out Sunday Morning at 7am. Luckily, we realized shortly into the trip that casual comfortable clothes/shoes were the way to go in cancun, even at night, so I didn't need the dressy clothes we had pressed but when we went to check out we were charged for the express one day service. They said their was nothing they could do and looked at us like they didn't understand us. Obviously, it wasn't the ladies at front desk who delayed the service, but you could tell they didn't have a lot of flexibility or power or they were trained to play dumb in those situations until you just finally walk away. Or better yet just present you with the bill minutes before your shuttle arrives to take you back to the airport. Anyway, I'm sorry to go on and on, but theirs things I wish I'd known prior to my trip. Another thing, my FI and i took cash to operate on and more specifically $200 of it was in 1 dollar bills. We will definitely be taking more 1's than that this year. A $1 bill is the most useful thing there (ex. Proper tip, one way bus trip, street vendor, etc.) take plenty of ones!!!! Remind people during their stay that the rule for dinner reservations is not a joke. It is 2 days in advance and you can only book 2 nights worth and you have to keep coming back to make the other nights. Ex reserve Monday morning for Wednesday night dinner. Here are some more pics the WC sent me These were the aisle runner options FYI aisle runners are an additional cost First option 180.00 Second option 200.00 I asked the WC to send me any more wedding pictures he had Also these are the tumblers I had made for all my guest to give at the cocktail welcome gathering And last picture and I'll leave you guys alone. These are the bags I had made and shipped to the WC for him to have in each room laying on the bed when the guest arrive. ****to jasminm---- I found these particular ones in Nashville tn at a surplus warehouse. I can't think of the name right now but I will look at my receipt and see. I ordered online for the ones I had to give as gifts at my bridal shower. I'll try to find out that website as well.
