  1. Your wedding coordinator can schedule your hair appointments before you get there
  2. It has been one month since our wedding at Majestic Colonial. All we have to say is that it was WONDERFUL!! Everything was BEAUTIFUL! I have pictures if you want me to send you. Dayra is the BEST wedding coordinator so detail oriented and NAILED it!! Everything was perfect! During our initial meeting in the lobby there was apparently an unhappy couple that decided to interrupt our meeting to inform us they (Majestic) cannot pay CD's for the ceremony and it took them hours to finally get their music to play. Well, that is because they did not purchase the correct sound system package. So be careful, you get what you pay for.... cheap is not always the best, when planning keep in mind that yes its more reasonably priced there but how much would you pay at home?? Even the most expensive at Majestic is still WAYYY cheaper then doing it at home. We had 18 guest and still had a private dinner and reception with a DJ at the Wet Bar. It was awesome!!! You could pick any music you wanted, he had a lap top so if it wasn't in his collection he downloaded on the spot to play it for you. Needless to say we had zero issues with music. The service was wonderful they pay 110% attention to you and your guests and make sure you are completely satisfied. The food was very good a large variety. I didn't eat too much I just wanted to party!!! Everyone complimented the food, so there is another plus. We used the resort photo and video personnel they are extremely professional and the pictures and video are beautiful! The video was unbelievable, they are truly talented and it shows. We have received so many compliments on the video and pictures. I can send you a pic or two if you would like so you can see the quality. We hired Pastor York- Another great choice, he was fantastic! The cake... OH MY GOODNESS delicious! We had vanilla with strawberry filling, ohhh the cake was so moist and was so good not overly sweet, just right. We were so upset we didn't take any back to our room! Now as you can see our day was perfect, everything went perfectly and I would not change a thing the journey was amazing. However... there are ALWAYS bumps in the road and how you handle them all depends on your personality. I had my hair done at the salon, did I like it yes, did I love it no, did I care when I was walking down the isle NO. Its hot there so don't expect to look like you just stepped out of a salon its hot! The walking to the beach from the wedding gazebo..far! Did I hate the walking YES, did it ruin my day NO. Actually it was nice to walk all around and get a ton of compliments There is a few hour difference between the wedding ceremony and your reception, I thought on my god what is everyone going to do... ya know what why the heck did I worry myself over that! We are in a beautiful resort with multiple bars DON'T worry about that... they will make do. All that worrying I did was a waste of my energy. I cannot say enough positive things about this resort, the personnel and our experience. My husband and I are so pleased and all of our guest had a great time and great experience. They all said they would go back to Majestic. OH can't forget about our 5 year old daughter, she had a blast! We never used the children facility area, we stayed in the big pool all week and she had a great time. If anyone has any questions please feel free to contact me at [email protected] Happy planning!
  3. We are leaving next week for our wedding at Majestic Colonial, my WC Dayrna has been great.. can't wait to final meet her! I will post a review when I return!!
  4. thanks for the info! we are actually just going to do everything onsite...there will be younger children including our daughter so we wanted it to be easy to send them to bed with mom-mom when they are tired.
  5. Congratulations!!! You look so beautiful!!! Pictures are awesome, did you use the resort photographer? Did you use a deco package for the ceremony? Where is the Kukua Beach Club? I know so many questions! Any inside info would greatly be appreciated I am counting down to June 12th... eghhh
  6. We are getting married June 12th on the Colonial side it is coming sooooo quickly... Here is our plan... Ceremony at 3:00 service being done by Pastor York (cost $350 plus $90 to get him on the property. Not a big deal since we were originally going to have a civil ceremony, but changed to Symbolic) so in our mind a wash we were spending the money the first time Having the ceremony at the gazebo...debating on the decoration package, FI wants it since most of our pictures will be taken there. I am not 100% sold. Dinner/Reception at 6:30 at the Parrot Bar with a DJ...party for 4 hours Now here is where I start feeling like I am being nickel-ed and dime-ed death... it is $70 per person plus have to pay for the open bar for the extra hour. I am now thinking that we should just have a 3 hour party then go to the bars/club after wards. I would like to have the reception spot decorated however the centerpieces that I love are $150 each even if you get an event deco package. The deoc package you have to pick one of the 4 they offer. The flowers in the package are fake so I wanted to upgrade them. My FI doesn't want to spend extra money on the reception deco. (but he does on the ceremony- go figure) The cake I wanted them to add flowers to the basic one... well the flowers are $8.00 each WOW, so now I am thinking I will bring my own topper. For favors I bought beach bags, wrote a nice welcome/thank you letter and will add a few things to the bag. Tylenol, tums, hand sanitizer, sun screen and post cards (will get them when we arrive) I am not sure how we will hand these out. I would like the hotel to put them in the guests rooms but I think they charge a fee for this. I will find out when we get there. I bought fans for $1.00 each at Pier One for the ceremony. I am going to put them on the chairs,so the guest can try to keep themselves cool during the service. We are using the hotel photographer and video person since they are on site. I watched some of the videos they look good. I am not sure what package to get, I read that for the photos you should go with the cheapest because they always sell you more later? anyone have any thoughts on that? I was going to get the middle of the road video since most of my family will not be there so I wanted a decent length video for them to watch. I think that covers everything... my goodness it is just coming so quickly! If anyone has any ideas or suggestions please share!! Happy Planning Ladies!

  8. Hey don't forget about us!! Make sure you let us know how everything went! Best wishes to you and your fiance!
  9. Oh my goodness I thought it was just me! In Jersey you can send what ever you need apostilled to Trenton and they do it for $25 per form, which is A LOT cheaper then we found on line. I sent my birth certificate and it only took about 2 weeks if that... in the end we just decided to get married by a local official before we go and just bring our marriage certificate. We aren't telling anyone so it will look "official" the day we get married. It turns out that because we are doing it that was we will get Pastor York which I read great things about him. Best of luck to you!!!
  10. My lovely WC just confirmed that we can do a Symbolic ceremony instead of Civil (paperwork much easier!) in the same time frame and we confirm Pastor York will conduct our service!! I thought I read somewhere that he was great... everything is coming together so perfectly. I am just waiting for confirmation on the Parrot Bar dinner/reception. We are getting a DJ I guess we will be using the house DJ? Do we have a choice? Also...has anyone received the link of all the pictures of cakes, flowers, reception areas, etc? Looks like they do a really great job!! If you don't have it I can send to you. I am getting so much more excited...didn't think that was possible!!
  11. We love to travel and did not want to spend the money on an expensive wedding at home. Let's be honest we feel obligated to invite people we typically don't associate with, family that you really didn't know you had then you end up running around all night thanking all these people they came and miss the fun of what you paid for. Now don't get me wrong, I loved and enjoyed every wedding I have attended, just not for me, especially now.... Our priorities in life are different, we have been together over 8 years, we have a 5 year old daughter and own a home. In other words, less money on wedding --- put $ in college fund and house improvements! In June our closest family and friends will be there to share in our day and we would not have it any other way. We can't wait!!!!
  12. Hello!! We are getting married too on June 12th at 3pm at the Colonial... is this where you are getting married?
  13. We are booked to be married June 12, 2013 at the Colonial!! We are so excited, unfortunately we have never been to this resort, however based on reviews and that it is children friendly we felt it was the best place. I must say I am a bit concerned about the paperwork needed... does anyone know where to get the document stating you are single and do you have to get the translation apostilled as well?
