  1. We got our key card holders yesterday in the mail and are so happy about them!! Where did you get your aloe from? We are having a really hard time finding travel size ones.. maybe we have to wait a bit longer till more summer stuff comes out.
  2. Thanks so much for the info! Hmm that is too bad about the food Are you able to give me a brief outline on the timeline for your day? ie. ceremony, photos, start of reception? The photographer nad the resort are both giving us REALLY different timeline recommendations.
  3. I beleive ours came with little pull things that turn them on but we decided to try them all out and bought batteries from the dollar store to replace the ones that ran out. We'lll also bring the batteries and screwdriver set with us to fix any that run out when we are there. The ones we got you cannot turn off but not sure about any of the other types out there.

  6. I have not tried them. I figured that they were cheap so if they don't totally work I am not going to be that disappointed. I will try them tonight and see how it goes though.
  7. Kristen, We are getting married legally in Canada before we go as there is a lot of different items that you need for this. We just figured it would be easier than having to worry about it while we are there. At first we didn't really want to do this because we'll have a legal marriage date and then the date of our ceremont but we are just gonig to use the date of the ceremony as our anniversary date! I know I had read on here that others have done the legal ceremony down there but I don't have a lot of info on it. Good luck!

  9. This thread is so great! I wish we had found this before we started our bags. Becuase I love everyone's entries so far here are ours so far. So far in ours we have: - A lofa (4 pack/ $1.25 from Dollar Giant in Calgary) - Cloths pins (Huge pack for $1.25 from Dollar Giant) - Tissue (8 pack/$1.25 from Dollar Giant) - Safety Pins (Multi pack for $1.25 from Dollar Giant) - Hand Sani (3 pack/$1.25 from Dollar Giant) - Mug with insertable section to personalize ($1.25 from Dollar Giant) - Waterproof watch (Dollar store in England) Since I first began I changed the guys colors from Yellow to Blue and removed the line under their names. The ladies cups are pink. We put a picture of each guest on one side and then a photo of us from our engagement shoot. I'll post a better picture soon. Items that we are still looking for good prices on: - Travel size Aloe or if that fails sunscreen - SPF Lipbalm - Pepto or TUms - Possibly Tylenol or Advil - Notepads & Pens - Likely other stuff will be added closer! I just used Word to make the template. The lines are to guide me when cutting them out.

  11. Sarah, I absolutely love your photos and can't wait to read your review. I know you'll probably answer these questions in your review but just wondering a few things: Did you get your bouquets made at the resort? What size are they? What were the costs for them? I assume that you brought some of your own decorations for the ceremony and the reception. What did they charge to set this up for you? Did you use their paper lanterns? If so were they all one size and how many did you use? Which meal did you choose for your guests? Thanks for sharing your day with us!! Nicole
  12. For the gals that are new to the site I recommend reading through the older posts such as the ones from Janette, MJKH, Kayla, and Canadbride 2011. I printed off a lot of the reviews to go back to during planning and they have help me out a lot! Good luck and have fun planning.
  13. Hello, Does anyone know if there is any seating/benches near the Palapa that is already onsite that we don't have to pay extra for? I have elderly guests and I want to make sure they are comfortable. I know that you can rent the lounge furniture but thought I would see if there is already something on the beach. I am not worried about how it looks just want to make sure they have somewhere to sit while waiting for entry into the Palapa. Did anyone rent an extra golf cart? We are considering it but weren't sure if it was necessary. We have approx 32 guests. Any info on this would be great! I am looking at the bride's bouquet and bridesmaids bouquets.. does anyone have an info or pictures on these? I was thinking of getting the small size for the girls and the medium sized for myself. The brochure that i was sent only has photos of the medium and large sizes. Also, we really want to have paper lanterns hanging in the Palapa. Has anyone rented the ones the have at the resort? If so does the cost of renting them include the set up fee? Thanks!!! Nicole
  14. We are 95 days until we go! Not like I am counting or anything! The planning is in full swing though.. didn't realize how much i still have left to do. I sent an email to Yeniza yesterday with some questions.. maybe some one here already has the answers? 1) Can you confirm the pricing on the lounge furniture? 2) What is the cost for a day pass for guests just coming for the wedding? 3) What is the cost of bringing our own decorations for set up? a) Paper lanterns to be hung from ceiling (roughly 20) Decorations for each table, with approximately 30 guests we plan to have 6 tables c) Decorations for the chairs on the beach for the ceremony? 4) What decorations are included with the free package?   16. Other items that I am including in my FAQS for my guests but can't find answers for: 1- Is there a tourist tax? Any idea how much this is and in what currency it must be paid? 2- How much is the norm for tipping? What currency should we tip in? 3- What currency should we take for shopping, excursions, and other items? 4- Is there anything in particular we should advise or guests about? Thanks in advance!! We are working on our wedding website now for our April 2013 GS wedding. I am getting really excited for it!

But I have a couple of questions or maybe someone else can help answer them! 1) You used the resort photographer? what was the costs and who did you have specifically? I have heard some bad things on here about the resort photographer but your pictures are amazing! 2) I love the star fish in your wedding location decorations and have been wanting something similar. Do they provide these or did you bring your own? If they provided do you remember the costs for the additional decorations/colors, etc? And if you brought them yourselves did you have to pay an extra fee to use them? You day looked amazing and i really hope ours does too! Thanks, Nicole
