  1. Great website!!!! Check ours out at www.derricklovesanita.com On another note...I am a bit relieved to hear that we were not the only ones that had issues with the room contract. Everything worked out for us, but I was bugging out for a few days--rethinking PPR altogether.
  2. Hey EV! Sorry for the late reply. I just moved from Maryland to California. We also got a cryptic email about restructuring at Paradisus. So now, Bianca is our planner. We'll see what happens with that. I am staying optimistic. In terms of the 2013 Fall in Love room rates. They have been released. We ended up going with a TA because Paradisus in Miami ended the 2012-2013 promotion early without telling us. We were waiting for a contract from Lauren who went M.I.A. and when we finally reached her she transferred us to someone else who told us that they ended the Fall in Love 2012-2013 room package early. I think Lauren was avoiding me so she did not have to send us a room contract. We were extremely upset because we had very positive conversations with Cecilia who assured us that everything was on track. We have a great agent now who honored the rates that Paradisus offered us. At this point I want to deal with the folks in Miami as little as possible. There is an issue of trust and them honoring what they tell us. With that said--I am still staying optimistic that Bianca will work well with us.

  4. EV Thanks! Was the packet physically mailed to you or was it sent via email? I have not been getting consistent info from the folks in Miami. We are now working with a new planner so I will ask her for the packet. We may bring a photographer if the budget allows--I think the $1k is extreme!

  6. I think we are. Is there an extra charge for HDC? Where exactly is the $1000 outside photographer fee in writing? I didn't see that on the contract or the price calculator.
  7. Hi! My PPR wedding is scheduled for July 2013. We are excited about the resort. Does anyone know the difference between Olympus Beach and Olympus Terrace? The photo on Picasso web titled "Olympus Terrace" is a photo of a beach reception and I've seen photos of other receptions on a paved terrace called "Olympus Terrace." Past brides please help!
  8. Hi Folks!!! I'm new to this site! I've just booked our wedding at the Grand Palladium Punta Cana for June 2013. We are so excited! We are having a cocktail hour and private dinner with 40+ guests. I saw the menu posted by richarsd and I have a few questions that I want to ask former brides: 1. Is it possible to choose 5 courses from that menu? (hors d'oeuvre, soup or salad, amuse or intermezzo (palate cleanser), main course and desert. 2. Can receptions be held in a conference center ballroom instead of a restaurant? 3. Do you think we can have a signature cocktail for the cocktail hour?
  9. Hi Folks! I just booked our wedding for June 2013!!!!!! My fiance and I are so excited. About the menu, has anyone requested a five course dinner at the Palladium? We are planning on a private dinner with 40+ people (we'll see how many more we'll have by Aprilish 2013). We want the cocktail hour with cold or hot appetizers followed by a plated dinner with an hors d'oeuvre, soup or salad, amuse (palate cleanser) or intermezzo (i.e.sorbet), main course and desert. The menu posted by richarsd looks great!! Can we choose whatever we want from it? For folks that have gotten married--what do you think?
