  1. Thank you, Krys! Barefoot it is I love that you keep up on these posts and help us out when you can. Thanks!!
  2. Thank you for tbe review. You look stunning! My hair is long, thick, and straight as well. I am also using Brigitte. Good call on the rain back up plan. It's something I've not even processed until now! Just when I thought we had all the details worked out We are only having about 20 people come and will have a beach dinner using Bay Bistro. We're also doing the bonfire and smores. We're having a reception at home, so it will be simple in T&C. I appreciate your comment in the other thread about spending time just he and I. We will be there a few days before and after all of our guests, so we will definitely have alone time. What time was your ceremony? Ours will be on the beach in front of Bay Bistro. What did you do for shoes. I don't want heels, I never wear them, and I'm concerned sandals and sand will be uncomfortable. I'm considering barefoot, but I want to make sure the sand is cool enough for bare feet. Thanks!
  3. Congrats Kim!! Our wedding is Aug 2 and I cannot wait! Looking forward to your review. Anything we just have to do??
  4. I was told to bring the passports and birth certificates to a notary, have them copied and notarized and that's all that needs to be done.
  5. KaraMae- I am going back and forth with the bonfire and s'mores idea. We are getting married the first weekend in August and I'm just not sure if it will be too warm to enjoy it...
  6. We are working with Keisha Delancy and Destination TCI. The process of doing it there seems easy enough, I was just hoping to talk to someone who's already done it. Since my last post, Keisha has cleared up my questions, I just always like to hear from someone who has experienced it. We had talked about having a justice of the peace do it here before we go, but neither of us is in love with the idea.
  7. Chita, were you officially married on the island or in the states? We hired a planner because I wanted to be 100% on paper work and getting an officiant. I'm still a little confused about where to get an affidavit stating that we have never been married. Can you help?
  8. Wow, I can't believe I missed this entire thread! I am getting married Aug 2 on Grace Bay Beach in front of Bay Bistro. You ladies have been busy chatting it up and I'm totally going to get caught up on this; there's so much good information! Thanks, Dani! We are staying at the Sibonne with all of our guests. I would have like to stay at a resort, but the prices were just better at Sibonne and I don't figure we'll spend too much time in the hotel anyway. We are only going to have about 15 people on the island with us and will be having a formal (dress and all) AHR a couple of weeks after we return. We are planning to send out reception invites that say something like'...we will be getting married on...in T&C... please join us to celebrate...' We are going to have our DJ show a slide show of our reception right before our entrance. I just wanted to introduce myself, because I plan on jumping in here once I get caught up
  9. kabrooklyn, thanks for posting all of the info and pics! I LOVE your tent and decorations! My fiance and I are getting married Aug 2013 in front of Bay Bistro; Joan has been very quick to reply and very helpful with all questions. We are staying at the Sibonne with all of our guests. The hotel has great reviews and is budget friendly. We are using a planner, mostly because the paper work scared me a little and I wanted to make sure it was all handled correctly. How long were you on the island? Anything we must do while there?
  10. We are getting married in August in T&C on Grace Bay Beach. We have our guests staying at the Sibonne and I have hired a planner to handle the paperwork, etc; the ceremony will take place right outside the hotel on the beach. After, we have the Sibonne catering a dinner for our guests.
  11. Hello, Just wondering if anyone has experience with Keisha Delancy of Destinaiton Turks and Caicos LTD? I am considering using her, but am having a hard time finding reviews online anywhere. Thank you!
  12. Hello, I am new to this website and for some reason I can't start a new thread?? I am very newly engaged and we are planning our wedding for the summer of 2013 in Turks and Caicos; probably July or August. I have been looking around online trying to find more budget friendly accommodations for my guests and found the Sibonne. It has really great reviews and I'm now considering staying there as well and having the wedding on the beach there. Does anyone have any experience with the Sibonne? The reviews I'm finding online are all great, including some couples that have had their weddings there. I'm also wondering about activities for my guests. I would be happy sitting on a beach for two weeks doing nothing at all, but I do have at least one very well traveled couple coming and they enjoy seeing the culture of their destinations. Can anyone offer some advice as to activities for them other than the usual Catamaran, etc? We are thinking of spending our second week on Grand Turk as there seems to be some really neat stuff there too. Thanks for any and all advice
