  1. Ok Ladies! Starting to panic here! I'm working with Gianinar Bridal. They had great reviews earlier on in this thread. Emailed them highly detailed pictures and sent a $150 nonrefundable deposit back on June 1st. Told them my wedding date is August 10th, as in this Friday! My real date is September 30th. No dress yet and communication seems to have stopped. Our original communication had them stating it would take 30-45 days to make the dress, then 5 days for shipping. That put the dress mid-late July. I sent them an email back on July 25th asking for an update on production and ETA for final pictures and shipping information. I received an email that same day stating my dress would be finished in 3-4 days and pictures would follow. Friday, August 3rd comes (a week later) and no pictures or email about shipping. (remember, I said my wedding was August 10th) So, Saturday August 4th I sent them an email asking for information because a week has passed since their last email that stated I would see pictures and I haven't heard back yet. Yes, my wedding isn't for another 55 days, but I was hoping to have more lead time in case of alterations. Now, with communication stopped, I am starting to really panic! Does anyone have a contact phone number for Gianinar Bridal? Anyone else have lousy communication right before delivery? Thanks everyone. Sadly, I'm starting to shop around again to make sure I have a Plan B in case my dress isn't here in time. Heather
  2. Hi Ladies, Just got an email from Gianinar Bridal and my dress is 3-4 days from completion. I should have my dress in hand within the next 15 days. I'm so excited. I told them my wedding date was a month earlier then it actually is to ensure arrival in time. I can't wait to see the pictures!!!! I went with a copy of an Oleg Cassini I tried on at David's Bridal. This is me trying on the dress at David's. I will upload the copy images once I receive them.
  3. Thanks! So inexpensive too. Got them off of www.milanoo.com. Used a coupon code from www.couponcactus.com. Originally priced at $37.99, got $10.00 off with coupon cactus code. With shipping they came to just over $42.00. They fit perfectly. Shipping was really fast too. Heather
  4. Hi Ladies, I got my shoes! I ordered them from www.milanoo.com and couldn't be more thrilled! They fit perfect! I think they will go great with the dress:
  5. Hi All! So I decided to go with Gianinar Bridal. I sent the money and measurements Friday, June 1st. I got an email back within 20 minutes saying they would start my dress the next day and it will take 40-45 days. They will send pictures when it's finished. It's going to be a long 45 days! This is me in the dress I chose at David's Bridal. It's an Oleg Cassini. I couldn't see spending $1250 plus alterations on a dress I will be wearing for 5 hours. Fingers crossed that they come close to the original. Thanks again to all who posted their knock off experiences. It really did help me decide on my dressmaker.
  6. See2Bee: did you ever post finished pictures of your dress from SOP? I'm interested in seeing it. You picked a beautiful dress! Congratulations on your wedding! Heather
  7. I decided at the last minute not to go with Shades of Pale and am sending my measurements Monday to Gianinar Bridal instead. Thank you to Campbellk81 for the warning with Shades of Pale. Very glad I saw your post before I sent them any money. I will post with pictures once I receive proofs from Gianinar Bridal. Thanks to all the brides who posted. Heather
  8. Hi All, I've decided to go with Shade of Pale and to get their middle option of high quality for $395. The communication has been great and I was able to get really detailed photos of the dress, so I'm less nervous about all the details. I did get a lower quote from Gianiar Bridal, but I'm bothered by their $150.00 non-refundable deposit. I've decided to stay away from DHGate.com completely. After reading the reviews in this thread and viewing reviews on other wedding boards, I just don't feel it's a good risk. In one week alone, three of the manufacturer's of my dress on DHGate.com went from very positive 95% and higher ratings to below 87%. Something's up with that. I'm attaching pictures of the dress I tried on in david's bridal. I'll post pics of the dress from Shades of Pale once I receive it. Thanks to all the ladies who posted here and gave reviews. You helped me make this decision. Heather
  9. Hi all, I have gotten a price quote from Shades of Pale. I also emailed Zimo based on this thread and am awaiting his reply. Has anyone used Shades of Pale recently and had a good experience? Which level of quality did you choose? Also, does anyone have contact information for Jasmine? I tried googling it but there are 3 different websites that come up, not sure which is the correct one. Did I leave any sites out? Please post with recent experiences. The dress I chose is highly detailed with rows of beading, lace, tulle and organza. I saw a picture of it reproduced on dhgate.com by bestdavid and it looked terrible. Thanks in advance. Heather
  10. Good Morning Ladies! I have read through most of this post thread and have seen the pictures of your dresses. I am getting married September 30th 2012 and I fell in love with my dress at David's Bridal, but I'm not willing to pay $1050 for a dress I'm wearing for 5 hours. I guess that's my frugal nature. I have found the dress on dhgate.com and was wondering if anyone has ordered from Beautydesign on dhgate? Beautydesign has a 98.8% positive rate and very good feedback. http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Strapless-Lace-and-Tulle-Ball-Gown-CWG352 I am nervous because there is so much detail on the dress. I don't mind if the embroidery or beading design is different, but I do care if the tulle is ragged or the organza ruffles are weird. Has anyone purchased from dhgate? Did you like their communication and service? Can you post pics of their work? Thanks to all in advance and congratulations on your weddings! Heather
  11. Hi Ladies! I've paged through all the 400+ posts on this thread and have seen happy brides and not so happy brides. I'm getting married September 30th and fell in love with an Oleg Cassini dress at David's Bridal. However, I don't want to pay $1050 for a dress (we're saving for a house). Has anyone dealt with DHgate.com recently? I'm interested in using Beautydesign on dhgate. The reviews are great and she has a 98.8% positive rating. http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Strapless-Lace-and-Tulle-Ball-Gown-CWG352 I want the dress in the ivory fabric with champagne embroidery and accents. I am nervous because there is a lot of detail on the dress and many layers of tulle and organza ruffles. Thanks for all the input. Heather
