1550 is a great price! how long ago did you book?

Depending on where you book from, you don't even get such good free perks! Our group packages have been every 12th, 14th or 20th person free depending on the tour operator. When you purchase trips in Canada they are usually more of a "package" price than air + hotel.

We are looking for March 23-30, 2013 time frame. I'm sure your agent will be great, it would be great if you could keep me posted on what you are seeing and I will do the same.

I know! We even put a deposit down for our package with the now jade but have been wavering ever since we saw the prices stay consistently at that price. I think the problem for us is that the travel agent we started working with was pretty inexperienced and hasn't been able to tell us whether the prices should go up or down between now and March. They just kept telling us to switch resorts so I guess we started to believe we had to Thanks Vika!

Hi ladies! Just wondering if you are finding the prices for now jade are continuing to get higher? When we got engaged in Nov 2011, I began looking at DW resorts in the Mayan and March 2012 was going for 1400-1600pp. Now that we are looking for end of March 2013 we are seeing prices at $1850+ per person and I'm absolutely heartbroken that this resort is out of our budget for our guests. Even our group rates are coming in at 1900+. Unfortunately changing dates isn't an option as we already sent out our STDs thinking this resort would be in our budget. Any advice on whether someone has gotten a really great price or can tell me other resorts around $1600 per person? Thanks so much, we are really in a pinch!

It looks like we will have 30-40 people, is the space big enough to accommodate a group that size?

Just wondering if anyone has any pictures of the orange lounge they can share? We are having our cocktail reception there but I don't have any photos beyond the one in the resort package they provided.

Just wondering if anyone has some additional information they could share! My dad is in a wheelchair and although we know the resort is accessible (as per their website), I'm wondering if anyone has anything they can comment on, or tips they could provide? We are reserving an accessible room but I think my parents are a little nervous and I'd like to calm their fears if possible. Any pictures or reviews from people who had guests with mobility issues would be GREATLY appreciated either in the thread or by private message!

Just a question to the other ladies out there - did any of you have/take advantage of price adjustments for your group rates? Our group rates are coming it at about 1650 for the last week of March but I am hoping it will drop!

Wow Lindsay that is a great price! Can you send me your group agents info? We are going back and forth with rates from Toronto in the last week of March but I don't feel like our agent is really doing a lot to get us a good price.

Hi Ladies! We are just in the process of confirming our dates for March 2013 and I wanted to get your feedback on which day of the week would be the best. We are looking at either March 26th (Tues) or March 28th (Thurs) and each have pros/cons. We will be arriving Saturday-Saturday so the earlier date would be closer to the middle of the week, but I was thinking since Good Friday is early this year (Fri 29th) we may have people wouldn't have been able to take off a week who'd be able to take Thursday off and just come down for the wedding and the weekend. I don't know anyone who has said that taking the time off would be a big problem but I thought if people were strapped for cash it might make it easier for them to do a 3/4 day holiday and be at our wedding. Thoughts?

I figured since many of you will have already gone through the booking process that this may be the best place to pose my question. My fiance and I are looking for a place in Montego Bay to get married the week of March 23-30, 2013 and we are having a really tough time trying to find a resort for under $1700 which isn't awful. I fell in love with the GPJ and GPLH, and the rates for booking this resort online were very reasonable ($1,700 and under for a week consistently from now until next year). Unfortunately our group rates that we have been quoted are AWFUL. Toronto to Montego Bay for a week has ranged from $2,299 to $2,422 for the week we are looking at. I'm really at a point where I'm not sure what to do next with this, as we don't have flexibility for changing the dates. What I'd like to know is: - did anyone have better luck with pricing having their guests book online? - did anyone find the group rates dropped closer to their wedding (ie - 6 months or less before)? - If I'm totally out of my price point with thinking this hotel could ever be under $1,700 are there any other nice hotels which could be suggested within this price point? Thanks so much!!
