  1. I am glad someone else was confused about this as well...to be honest I still am. Below is the email that Maritza and I were replying back an forth. So it seemed the more I tried to clarify the more confused I became. ME:I would like to have a cocktail hour but I am confused about this. What is the cost for Real guest? $5 US per person and this includes open bar and appetizers? MARITZA:Private Cocktail: champagne and canapés (1 hour, Minimum 10 guests) Prices just for the wedding day Real Guest $10.00 usd per person Non Real Guest $25.00 usd per person Note: Open bar required: + $5.00 Real guest & + $15 Non Real Guest (Welcome cocktail) ME:I am still confused about this. So if we want open bar for cocktail hour what is the total price per Real guest? Then it seemed that either she didn't respond or I cannot find the reply....So is it 15$ pp for Real guest? Or 10$?

  3. Hmm well I'm not entirely sure which catalogues...Maritza just said she would be sending "catalogues and the prices". I did see the bouquets and that on the website but I thought there would be something more detailed with the menu options, what is served at cocktail hour...etc?? How did you have guests let you know on what their entree choice was? Ahh this 350$ fee....seems to be the going rate for everything! LOL I agree with you guys no way its worth that! We can maybe do a guest book with some baby pics or something. Thanks!
  4. I found that our wedding coordinator(Maritza) usually emailed me back within a day or so. I believe I called a couple times as well when there was a error in our contract and I was able to talk directly to her as well! I have only secured our date/location...still waiting on the catalogues...not sure when those come!
  5. When I was looking into picking our photographer I emailed at least 10 all from this site to inquire about their pricing. I think you would be surprised at how willing the photographers are to make it work for your budget. Many of them offered to tweak the packages they offered for us. Our budget is lower than Del Sol(also love their work!!) but depending on what time length you want them to shoot you may find that they are in your budget. It helped me alot to narrow down the photographers when I knew the prices of their packages/what they offered/etc. We are going with Dean Sanderson!! Can't wait!!
  6. Wow lot's happening here in the past few weeks!! Congrats to the recent brides and newly engaged!! Kelly! I love the pic of you and your new hubby on the swing!! That is def on my list for our photographer! I have a couple questions... I am wondering if our guests will have the option to pick their entree? We are doing a private reception either at or in the gazebo. And if they do have a option should I have them RSVP their choice or do they choose during the dinner service? I would like to send out our formal invites within the next couple months and if they need to choose I want to have them do this through our wedding website RSVP...but I need to know what options to include. I have put my deposit about a month or so ago now and Maritza said she would be sending me the catalogues soon...but I haven't gotten anything yet. I have not tried to email her as from this website I assume this is the busiest time for weddings. But when should I start to be worried if she doesn't send them? My MOH would like to put a slideshow together for us. Has anyone done this or plan to? If so does the Royal provide a projection screen/laptop? We are planning to use a ipod and speakers for our reception. Is there a fee for this? And is a dance floor provided? And again a fee for the dancefloor? Ok I think that's it for now!   8. Hmm I plan to use the spa for hair only for myself and 5 of my bridesmaids. I have seen alot of mixed reviews as well but it seems that most brides were unhappy with their makeup and nail treatments? I am really not fond of this $350 vendor fee so the only time I will pay this is for our photographer. In my opinion if the pricing is the same why would you pay the extra $$. I have been in or been to weddings where bridesmaids have also hated their hair/makeup...let's be honest ladies in general are very picky about their hair/make-up so it's likely someone will not be fond of their hair/makeup in the group no matter who is doing it! Seems to always happen... I would also expect that we can order food/drinks at the salon?

  10. Hello Ladies! I am fairly new to this forum and so happy to find this thread!! We are booked with Air Canada Vacations! We also preferred to book with West Jet but for whatever reason their quotes were crazy high. We simply chose Air Canada Vacations because they were the best quotes and we have used them in the past without any issues. And....we are flying first class!!(we are pretty pumped for that!!) For every 10th person booked we also are saving 500$. Sometimes depending on your resort you can get additional savings too:)
  11. Hello there! I am also very new to this site but am addicted!! I found that it took anywhere from a week to a week and a half for TA's to get quotes back. Is the resort your looking into small? That's crazy that it is almost booked! We narrowed it down to a few resorts and then went with the best price for our guests. I don't know what you are looking at booking for your guests but we had our TA request pricing for air and hotel for a week from Calgary/Winnipeg. We also had a few different TA's requesting quotes for us and then went with the TA that offered the best price. After deciding on the package I then contacted the resort myself for availability for the actual wedding day. Believe me I know how your feeling...for me this was the most stressful part!!
  12. Great! Thanks ladies:) So far Maritza has been great! She responds usually within a day or so and I have been able to reach her by phone a couple times. They seem to be very organized! I guess your telling me I better get my contract signed ASAP!
  13. Wow! You have so many amazing details! I am constantly book marking pages from this thread. I feel like there is so much to do! I love the program fans! Maritza sent me a email containing this: "Also.....remember the reservation of locations for either the Cocktail or the Reception are subject to availability." I did ask her about it so waiting for her reply but is there a chance I might not get the venue choices she has actually confirmed as available? I'm confused do you remember this being mentioned at all?

I have since received a handful of emails from Maritza to sign my authorization form, tell me deadlines for payments, etc. She has just sent me my contract to sign as well today and said she would then send me the all the catalogs as soon as I send it back signed! I can't believe some of your weddings are so soon! you all must be sooo excited! I feel like ours is so far away!
  15. Hello all! We have just put our deposit down for January 8, 2013 for Royal Playa del Carmen!! So excited! I have been obsessed with this thread...well the entire site for weeks now! I am wondering what happens now.....? I have been in contact with Maritza so far. Will she contact me as needed or am I to contact her about the planning....feeling a little lost! Ohhh and how obvious that I am a newbie...I didn't realize I can't change my profile name! Happy to join you all in this adventure!! Jen
