  1. aww... fuwwy.. Thanks for the update on the sizes.. These were a great deal though! I'm thinking they would be great for a kids pool party for gifts for the kids.. :o)

  2. I keep seeing everyones "to do" lists.. But I'm curious if anyone can direct me to a website that has a to do list for us destination wedding brides...? I can find normal ones all day, I just know ours can vary a lot.

As far as travel mugs. Dollar Tree has some nice ones for only $1 you could have them vinyled or put personalized  waterproof stickers on theme.. Just a thought. But Ive seen them in Blue and in Black. You may be able to find them on their website. Dollartree.com ,I  believe.

Passport, allurements by Rebecca.. he is amazing, and very sweet! I ordered some samples from her etsy page last week, hoping when I get home from Atl they will be in my mailbox. :o) Also, you can check Etsy, I've seen several people who do them.

OOT Bags.. There are a TON of great templates on here. Just search OOT bags. But if you didn't pay to be a member of this site you'll have to get your post count up to like 130 before you can view the templates.. "I'm getting there"  lol....

Hope this helps! If you have any other questions, I can try to help. I'm still in the beginning stages of the wedding planning, but I have done a TON of research lately.. It's taking over my life.. lol. :o)

  3. That was a good idea to tell you WC your budget, and let her work off that.. I didn't think of that..

I figured a DW was going to be a lot cheaper than a normal wedding.. But now that we start to add everyrhing up it seems like we arent going to save much at all. But then again our site fee is gonna cost more than our week long accomodations. If we had went with an all-inclusive reosrt somewhere else I believe we could do our wedding for a fraction of the price.. But we love the Cloisters in the Bahamas and I couldn't possibly imagine getting married anywhere else.

I LOVE pinterest.. It is sooo addicting!   Follow me, MissBubbles205, so I can follow you back. :o

I love all the talk about Pinterest! I did exactly what you guys' were saying in regards to making a board of what kind of shots you like, I did this for our engagement pics and it worked out great!

We have set a budget of $12000 for our off resort wedding in Jamaica. We hired a wedding planner and told her everything we want to include in this price and she said she could do it ( we shall see, I kinda expect it to be over). Other than the actual ceremony and reception costs we have asked her to include our travel costs (myself, my FH, and our daughter) and her costs for planning the wedding.

This leaves about $6000 for the actual wedding ( the planner's fee is $2000 and I suspect it will be at least 4000 for our travel and accomodations).

I am happy to see that everyone is around the same budget range as we are. This is something that I worry about. I also thought that  a destination wedding would cost a lot less then at home, but from people I talk to here it seems that with travel and accomodations it is costing us about the same. Has anyone else realised this aswell for your locations?

  4. Would LOVE to see pictures when you get a chance to post them!  We are looking at going with Fushia and possibly orange.

  5. Ahh.. A future Bride of the Cloisters!! Love! :o)
Do you know what month/year you are wanting to get married?  The site fee for the Cloisters is 4500. I know how your feeling, the Cloisters was sooo hard to find info on. I got my TA from here (Wright Travel Agency, Barbara Vong aka Babs, she is absolutly Amazing and has given me a TON of info!)

We are at the beginning stages of our wedding planning.  So we are looking at this site ALOT!  The one thing we have not found is how much it cost to secure The Cloisters.  Can anybody please direct us to the right place??

    Thank you all

  6. I was leary of that site at first.. I read a few nagative reviews and thought to myself, ahh, well those were just crazy bridezilla's or something.. How bad could they be.. So decided to jump the gun and give them a $50 deposit to prove my seriousness (with needing help choosing a destination). At first my TA was very nice but then she started to send me resorts that I swear the photos were taken back in the 70s and 80s! I requested up to date pictures and information, and then I was sent wedding package quotes for 2010. My wedding is in 2013, and it is 2012 now.. For a site to say they specialize in destination weddings, their information sure wasn't up to date.

My TA was no help in finding a destination or resort she sent me several for different location but none of them were up to good standards so one day I was doing a search and saw the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas. I was in awe!  I mentioned this place to my TA and she seemed to not know any information about the resort nor want to give me any information on it. I say this because she has been avoiding my emails and calls for a month now, the calls she has set up with me, she has missed. (If you do decide to use them, which I dont personally recommend, just know they want to call you any time you have a question, I guess that don't want paper trials of how poorly they assist you.)

Last week I found myself stressed out to the MAX!  Because here I am working full-time, going to school, and trying to choose a location for my wedding because the help I thought I was getting from a site that specialized in DW's was just making the whole process aweful for me. So I posted a thread on here and mentioned DW and everyone told me to get out while I could (this was before the TA presumed to avoid my emails and request for information.) But someone mentioned the TA's here at BDW.. And let me just say, that within the last week, I have had many many cooresponding emails with my new TA from Wright Travel Agency, Barbara Vong (aka Babs)  She is absolutely hands down, AMAZING!!  She is very prompt and friendly when responding and best of all, she goes above and beyond to give me all the information I need and then some. Oh and the best part... She has given me every bit of information for having a ceremony at the Cloisters at the One and Only resort, later ceremony times :o) , and is now working on group rates for us and our guests at Atlantis. I highly recomment her!!  But back to DW, I sent them an email 2 days ago requesting a refund since I have gotten no help from there site and have done all the reseach on my own. And I received an email back form them yesterday saying Sorry, you are not eligable for a refund since you are no longer planning a destination wedding. This fueled my fire!!! I am planning a DW and never ever mentioned I wasn't.. But still they are refusing to give me my deposit back.

Also, to anyone wanting more information, visit BBB.com. This is the better business bureau that I recommend to anyone whom has questions of a business. It will show you how many issues they have with a certain business and their ratings, etc. Too bad I didn't take the hours to read all the reviews on BBB before handing over $50 for someone to stress me out.

  7. Thank you SOO SOO much for the information!! I took notes. :o)  Do you know if they do long rectangle tables? I was thinking they did one long table so everyone could sit together, but maybe I need to think about deciding on table plans for round tables.

I sent an email to Luciano's yesterday, I can't wait to start the process. cheer2.gif

And thanks for the heads up on the big rusty boat!.. I'm sure I would make a special trip just to make sure that doesnt happen to me. Thank God you noticed and it was removed before the reception!!

A few things I learned though:

    1.  If you are doing escort cards and table numbers, make sure you specify which table is which (if you are going to have different amounts of people at each table).  For example, I told them to set up four tables - 2 tables of 9, one table of 8 and one table of 10.  I provided Luciano's the table numbers in frames and the starfish escort cards.  They set it all up, but my dad ended up at a table with one less seat and he thought they forgot his seat!  Even though there was another table with an extra seat at it.  They fixed it right away, but it was totally my goof!

    2.  If you have any supplies to drop off they day before, or just have an opportunity to stop by, make sure there are no big boats anchored in front of the back patio.  This happened to me.  When I arrived the day before, there was a big rusty barge that blocked the whole view of the Atlantis.  I was of course upset, but my pregnant sister was even more upset.  The view and atmosphere was the whole reason we picked Lucianos!  They said it wasn't their boat so they were unsure if they could move it but Nadia bent over backwards to track down the portmaster and requested them to move it.  So in the end it turned out fine, but if I hadn't stopped by to see it, it may have been there for our reception!

Despite any hiccups, all the staff at Luciano's were so gracious and accommodating.  They really were awesome and I think your wedding will be awesome there!  Good luck and let me know if you have any more questions :-)

I bought my dress back in September and it just came in so I went to try it on. I really like it, I just see so many flowy, plain dresses that I like and feel like would suit me better. What do you guys think? Is this dress too formal/got too much going on for a beach wedding? I only tried on a few dresses before buying this one, so maybe I'm just freaking out now that the wedding's closer and I haven't yet lost those 15lbs I was planning on dropping :)
