Just an FYI, but this isn't true. If it matters to you, there's a big difference in paper lanterns being lit from the inside then having light in close proximity bounce off of them. Thelight fixtures are spaced in a way that some of your lanterns won't even be close enough for the light from the fixtures to have any effect.

Thank you! I love my dress, I was actually tempted to put it on again last weekend just for kicks. It seemed like a better option then just letting it sit there.
You must be beaming with excitement as your date quickly approaches...Sending my early best wishes to you both just in case I don't get antoher opportunity to.
Have you decided on the size(s)? This is a pretty important variable. Do you have an inspiration pic to post? I personally like the look of them lit, especially once the sun goes down.

I just wanted to chime in and share my experience...
No Save the Dates
Invites sent 9 months out
RSVP 12 weeks out
Booking reminder sent 10 weeks out
Group Rate Expired 8 weeks out
Of the 24 invitations sent (42 Guests), I received a total of 3 RSVPs; 2 declines and 1 acceptance. I hoenstly didn't know who was attending my wedding until our group rate expired. Of the 22 guests that committed to our DW, 14 of them booked within 48 hours of our group rate expiring and another booked her trip independently (airfare and accomodations) within 48 hours of departing for our wedding.
While logic would dictate that those who care and have intentions of coming will RSVP and book far in advance. The truth of the matter is, those who care will book by the deadline. We put a lot of effort in planning our weddings but remember, it's our wedding and one of the greatest milestones in our life, not our guests. Every detail will be a priority from the moment we're engaged until our wedding day. As far as our guests are concerned, our wedding doesn't become their priority until they board the plane.

Thank you! I'm sure you're more crafty then you give yourself credit for. It's amazing what you can do if you just give things a try (and have to adhere to a budget). I never thought I would have so many DIY projects, but I guess it's one of the benefits of being a detail oriented person. Good luck with your projects and let me know if you have any questions.

I made mine and I think it turned about beautifully. It sparkled like crazy too, once i wiped it off with windex to get the wax residue off (wax pencil used to place crystals).
I think most of my materials are listed in the following thread, but if not, feel free to ask

It should be noted that ice isn't an issue since it's made from purified water and brought into the resort.

Hey Ladies! As odd as it may seem I don't have any clear pictures of me in my dress, they are all in possesion of my photog (2-4 weeks left until delivered) and our guest (recently solicited, and slowy trickling in). But believe me, I will post like crazy once they're receieved.

Could just have been the sun, maybe too much food, maybe the ice cubes, who knows? But everyone felt awful. Do yourself a favour and pack LOTS of Imodium! It actually became the running joke of the week. Whenever someone was missing, we knew they were in the can
KristenThat sucks, I'm sorry. This is odd considering we stayed within a week of each other. Only 1 person in my group had diarhea, but we attributed this to his obsession with watermellon and honeydew juice (natural laxative as we know).

Definitely not worth the risk, always use bottled water

I've been waiting for these...Absolutley beautiful Kristie. Congrats, Chica!

Hmm, I see your concern. I do recall reading that specific verbiage before and I think that's why we originally reserved a Jr Suite w/ Ocean View.

Yes, you are correct that the upgrade to preferred is a perk with the package, but remember that this is based on availability upon check-in. We had a snafu with our group rate and got the upgrade and our room comped 6 months prior. Otherwise, the upgrade may not have been an option since the resort was booked to capacity during our stay.

Standard: orange juice, apple juice, sprite, coke, water and beer
Preferred: All of the above plus mini Bacardi, Jim Beam, Jose Cuervo, Finnland Vodka and snacks.

After being at the resort I can honestly say that I would have been happy with a standard suite, but was happy that we were preferred guests. The preferred lounge stocks liquor that is not available anywhere else on the resort; this was a bonus since Justin's go-to drink is Crown Royal which would not have been available if not preferred. Mini bar's on the preferred side are stocked with mini liquor bottles. I had multiple guests on the non-preferred side request these to no avail. The rooms area bit larger, but equally as nice. Many of the ocean view standard rooms now face a construction site; all of the preferred rooms have a clear ocean view/front. It was also nice to have free wifi.

I'm sure I will have additional questions, but I wanted to know did your guests pay for transportation to the resort. If so, what was the average cost also are there activities, cigar rolling, volleyball, or zumba classes that I arrange for guest prior to my arrival with Daisy or Pilar. I want to draft an itinerary for guest.
Me and my guest were only at Now Jade for 3 to 4 nights and half of us relocated to Play del Carmen for 3 to 7 nights after. Understanding the Riviera Maya from previous trips, we reserved these types of activities for Playa del Carmen where we knew the prices wouldn't be so inflated. As such, I don't know what kind of activities are available at NJ, because we never inquired or had intentions of doing anything there.
Transfers were set-up at a discounted rate by my TA (Teresa Stauring - Vacations4Less) and were available for reservations via a link and group code she provided. Rates were based on the number of passengers, but started at $40 up to 3 people and increased from there.
I don't see the need or purpose to rent a car while staying at an AI and would arrange for transportation or get cabs for any excursions or trips into town. If you have never been to the area, it should be known that the drivers are a bit scary and by no means am I a timid driver. If you choose to rent a vehicle, I would advise opting for full coverage insurance.

I did a quick search and came up with these which aren't the same as the ones that I purchased, but pretty close. I think I bought mine at (50) for $25, but as with anything on ebay, it never hurts to submit your best offer.

Ooops... sorry to have omitted that, I actually made them. I googled images of Mexican art and posters, scaled them down to the appropriate size, printed them in color on cardstock and cut them out. I found the luggage tags on ebay over a year ago sold in a lot of 50. I honesty don't remember the seller, but if you do a search you might be able to find them or something similar. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I guess I have a lot to say because it's pretty long...sorry. But hopefully there's something useful to take from it.

A few options…
While I don’t have any personal experience with jasminesbridalshop.com, this was the company that I was going to go with for my TTD dress, but decided that I would wear my actual dress instead. I’m pretty picky when it comes to detail, and this was the only one that I felt comfortable with. I think their designer I think they’re on the higher end in cost compared to the competition, but I think the quality/craftsmanship warrants this.
If you’ve found a dress that you love and the style is somewhat popular/well known you can possibly find it on sites oncewed, preownedweddingdresses, recycledbride and even classifieds on ebay and weddingbee. These are all great resource and I have either used them or know of other brides who have. These are sites that sell new, sample and used dress. I would even estimate that a third of the dresses are samples from bridal salons trying to rotate their inventory or new dresses from brides whose weddings were either canceled or who purchased two dresses and now have to get rid of one.
For new dresses at a great discount I would look at bridalgown.net. Yes it seems too good to be true and you can’t help but ask why the prices are as low as they are (comparatively) but it’s 100% legit. Only word of caution is to give yourself plenty of time when ordering. From my experience, and that of others, you should add 2-4 weeks to the estimated shipping window.
Let me know if you have any questions. Happy shopping!

Just for clarification, are you looking for a knock-off or authentic dress at a reduced price? Makes a difference on how I reply to this post...
-
I would suggest that he just by the diamond and propose with that. Then they can go shopping together for the setting.

They will be super sexy and unique and this chance will not come around again most likely!
My dress was light- and this did help a ton. My only other advice, our TTD session took around three hours almost. This took away time I wanted to spend with my guests playing pool volleyball and other things Plan this out a little bit so that it doesn't take away from guest time. I did our shoot immediately the day after the wedding but if I had waited just one day my guests would have been gone and I could have relaxed more.
Agreed. Our TTD shoot was so much fun and I was so happy that we decided to do this together. We chose to do our shoot at sunrise (we started at 6:00am) which was a brutal, but we fell right into our rhythm within 5 minutes of starting. The beach was seclude and felt like our own and the temperature was cool and comfortable at 78 instead of 92 and humid. For those who are concerned with taking away time from your guest, I would recommend this as an option.
When it was all said and done my dress was completely saturated in ocean water/sand and easily weighed 40lbs. And I admit, when it took my dress off and looked at it after the shoot, I was a bit disheartened. I truly thought that I ruined my dress, but I sent it off to the my hotels preferred cleaners and was amazed at the condition that it was restored to. I wouldn’t say it looked like new but maybe 95%. The hemline was a bit discolored in a few spots and a few buttons have permanent smudges (sitting/sliding around on the pier) but these can be replaced.
I can’t wait to receive our pics and I’ll be sure to post a few.
