  1. @ sherylh WELL ... I have never gotten a reciept..even though I've asked for one! I printed all of my email communication with the resort and have my bank statements to show what I've been charged so far. I plan to bring it with me. At first, I found myself emailing her questions almost everyday... so what I do now is I put together a word document and outline my questions. She replys right under my questions.. It takes her a few days but that way I get all of my answers at once. I started planning 10 months out so I had similar feelings BUT once I got my questions answered I felt better. I met her in person this past January when I went for the weekend and we went through everything for my personal sanity! LOL let me know how else I can help.
  2. I wanted hydrangeas but Deyanira (my coordiantor) told me that they were more expensive and wilt very fast there because of the weather. The flowers that do not have additional fees are roses, gerberas, birds of paradise and margaritas.
  3. Thanks @Sherylh and Congratulations to you too!! Your idea with the flowers sounds beautiful My colors are peacock but without the feathers! No feathers allowed! LOL Blues and greens. I think I'm going to make menu's as well...it adds a little something extra.
  4. Hi Everyone!! I'm getting married on October 20, 2012 in Dreams Punta Cana! 4 months to go. (officially freaking out LOL) I have a question on TABLE SETTINGS. Any past brides have pictures of what was done for their tables?? Future brides...can you share some ideas please? Are you making menu's? BTW for all future brides...I visited in January and took lots of pics. Here's the link http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/15317/dreams-punta-cana-brides/3960#post_1725629
  5. I just booked HDC Photography. SUPER FAST RESPONSE! Prices are amazing.... I read all of the reviews and everything seems excellent Here's their contact info: Website: http://www.hdcphoto.com/ Email : [email protected]
  6. I am seriously considering making my own centerpieces and shipping them there! I want tall centerpieces and Dreams quoted me what I think is a fortune!!!!!!!!!!!! This is my BIGGEST DILEMA!! I am sort of creative but not really into the DIY thing...I'm going to attempt to make a centerpiece at home and see if it's cheaper/worth it. Who's your wedding coordinator? Mine is Deyanira Aristy and she was able to send me pics of centerpieces (wasn't overly impressed) but she did tell me to email her exactly what I was looking for and she'd be able to tell me if they could re-create it. - Grace
  7. I am very unsure about my centerpieces the resort quoted me $240 for the large centerpieces (which is what I want) but eeeeeeeeek they are so expensive! I really am thinking about making my own centerpieces and having them shipped there but I hate the idea of fake flowers... Any thoughts? Melissa - I think you should ship some extra's just in case some break. - Grace
  8. You're welcome! I was lucky enough to make it there just for the weekend to check it out and meet with Deyanira in person... I'm a little bit of a control Freak LOL I want to add that I added drapery for the gazebo for the day of the wedding... I'm still waiting for a quote on that... We're having the cocktail hour in the Himitsu Terrace and then the reception in the indoor banquet hall (we also added drapery to that room) Also.... I added lighting for the reception walls... I think it makes a big difference for indoor settings. Anything else I can help with let me know. - Grace
  9. Hi Liss2626, Deyanira told me that children were 40 each (for the guest rooms) not sure how much they are for the reception...
  10. Hi Ladies! I'm getting married at Dreams Punta Cana on 10-20-12 and I was just at the resort last weekend and met with my wedding coordinator (Deyanira Aristy) who has been nothing but helpful! I'm having 200 guests so I wanted to go in person and make sure everything was set for our big day! I started a personal wedding blog and I just posted all of the pics I took of the resort., You ladies may find these pics helpful...feel free to check it out and ask me any questions. I stayed there for 2 nights and LOVED everything about the resort! The staff was SUPER friendly, everything I ate was delicious, the rooms are clean and well kept.. the pool is amazing... the gazebo (where my ceremony will take place) is BEAUTIFUL and the pics really dont do it justice. http://torresbonnellywedding.blogspot.com/ Happy Planning!! - Grace

  13. Hello! I'm NEW to this site My Wedding will be at Dreams Punta Cana on 10-20-12 at 6PM We are having 200 GUESTS! It's my BIG FAT DOMINICAN WEDDING! I've been working with Deyanira as my wedding coordinator and she's been very helpful... I'm actually going to visit Dreams in 2 weeks so I can talk to her in person and see the resort. My name is Grace... my Fiance and I live in Miami (his name is Ralphy) and I look forward to sharing tips and suggestions with former Dreams Brides as well as Brides-To-Be like me I'm freaking out about the following: 1) Hair and Makeup 2) The Ceremony will be in the Gazebo and I'm not sure if they can accommodate my 200 guests! I don't want people standing...everyone must have a CHAIR! 3) CHAIRS - I'm in love with the Tiffany Garden Style chairs but they're $15 a pop! OOouch! I worked them into my budget but am really thinking about removing them because they're so much money... I can use that for something else like a fine art PHOTOGRAPHY! 4) PHOTOGRAPHER - Are you using the onsite photography?? At first I said yes but now I don't know! I want quality photos and video. Can anyone recommend any photographers in the Punta Cana area?? Thanks!
