Here's a few of mine that might provide some inspiration if anyone is doing the vintage thing...
Ring Shell
Cake Topper: Shells from Michaels painted with pearl Paint & Claire's pearl necklace
Reserved Signs for Parents seats at ceremony
Mason Jar vases with Sand Dollars & Twine
Card box Treasure Chest
Table Number Frames. ANtiqued Dollar store frames
Place Cards, Photoshop
Drink Flags, straws from Etsy and made flags up in Photoshop
Hangers for Bridesmaids, got wooden hangers at Dollar store and added ribbons & writing

The "BBQ" is a buffet, that's what standard in the palapa (so, with the Pres. package you get 10 meals included and they are $350 after that). The other options are Beach menu (a plated set menu that you will choose) or the Beach Menu upgraded to Lobster. Those two are obviously both more $$

Clothes:
Brides maids are wearing this dress from Davids:
They will be barefoot for the ceremony. I did include pearl colored flip flops in their beach bags, and told them whatever heels they want for photos.
But in the coral Reef Color:
FI is wearing Silk Blend Khakis from Tommy Bahama, Shirt from Tip Top and Tie from Le Chateau (the only place in this entire city that even comes close to matching the coral, sheesh!!). He and the rest of the boys will have matching brown leather Reed sandals, yet to be purchased.
Our boys are wearing the same TB pants as hubby, and Quicksilver linen shirts with pocket squares from Le Chateau in Coral.
My gift for FI will be this tie clip from Etsy Seller CallaToo
And these cufflinks from Etsy TesoroJewelery (they will say 1.30.13 and S+B
Rings - bands just came in today!! These are custom designed from a jeweler here Aqua Salis, I LOVE them, FI's band is amazing!

I got mine at Ethos, I was SO pleased with my experience! Can't speak for their alterations as I have a seamstress friend doing mine

If anyone is looking for lash extentions, I just got mine done (and a spray tan) at Posh Lash lounge. They look awesome, highly recomended. Don't have to worry about mascara on the beach now

Ah that's such a great classic! We gotta keep the men happy right ?

We FINALLY just picked ours! Jason Aldean's Cover of "Heaven"!.
FI "doesn't care" what it is, but has had an opinion on every song I suggest lol. Then I realized I hadn't given any country options, and that's way more him. Jason Aldean is our favorite country singer, and I've always loved this song,it's a perfect fit and when I played it for him i finally got some excitement! Sadly it has to be a live version, but as long as we love it I don't think it matters
Here's a link if anyone wants to hear it

Hey girls, hopefully this works. Here is all the up-to-date catalogues and pricing information that I have received to date!

We aren't doing "bags" (again a lot of travellers in our group, seems redundant). BUt when they arrive they will be given a custom travel mug with a mini Spanish for dummies and an info sheet in it

Did they give you any sort of a guide as to the table set-up in the palapa? (IE to do up a seating chart?) What are your thoughts?
-
OK, I got a MUCH better example from her, now it makes sense!! So, if you are just going with the "standard" meal at the palapa ($350 pesos per), it's a Buffet style and you just choose what main meat will be served. If anyone else finds this useful!!

Awesome! Yes I am obsessed with the Honey Script font lol

Mason jars for table centerpieces. I plan to get loose flowers from the resort and have my mom & aunt make arrangements, as they are both very good florsits. My om has been collecting to vintage blue jars and we have enough for the head table to be done in those (for the bridal party's floweres. I wrapped the twine around and secured the small sand dollar with hot glue
Random scatter gems for the table, and the fairy balls light up, they'll float in the vases!
Table place cards for guests, DIY on Photoshop
Reserved signs for our parents (Photoshop), to be hung off chair backs
My bridal party gifts: The hangers were DIY by me, just wooden hangers and a bow tied. The necklaces are from Etsy vendor allstrungout1. They are each personalized with initials The beach bags have flip flops, the necklace, hanger, lip gloss and a pashmina
Gifts for our mothers, handmade hankerchiefs from Etsy Vendor mollyandmom. I plan to give these to our moms on the day of
My DIY cake topper. I had seen something super silmilar on Etsy but it was really pricey, so I found the right shells at Michaels and then destroyed a cheap pearl necklace from Claries for the rest. Again, the irridescent shimmer paint on the shells!
Hanger for my dress from Etsy Vendor wisconman. I just added the bow to match the BM's hangers I made
Our guest book.. I did this at Mixbook. The theme was actually a bridal shower I just moved a bunch of stuff around. I love it! The sandcastle feather pen my mom found right after we got engaged. I'm pretty sure the pen won't work on the pages, and we'll end up using sharpies, but I just love it so I wanna bring it anyway! I used the book sort of as a picture/guestbook as there won't be a ton of people there to sign it so there's lots of photos too
These are my pride and joy! LOL. The straws are from Etsy vendor BonFortune and the flags are something I made up in photoshop. I absolutely love them and I hope I can convince them to make us a signature cocktails so our first drinks can have these little cuties in them!!
I think that's all for now. I need to photograph my jewelery and get our rings and guys pics up so I'll keep working. I hope you're enjoying so far!! Three weeks to go, this girl is in the push in a major way! Wish me luck

I apologize for the giant gap in time, I've bee squeezing things in when I can and haven't photographed anything! OK, here goes:
Invite 9DIU) Ignore the date, I had to change that later I printed these on flat cards at Vista print, pretty basic. I didn;t want to go nuts on invites since you basically only send them to the people who've booked anyway
My DIY ring shell for our flower girl: (Sorry no rings in it I found shells at Michaels and then painted them with an irridestant shimmer to make them more blingy.
Flower girls' dress (Ordered online). It's so stinkin cute I can't wait to share the photos of her wearing it!!
My garter & toss garter from Etsy Vender nanarosedesigns. Pretty much in love with those!
My shoes, David's Bridal
Something Blue, Etsy Vendor forweddingsake
My Dress, from Ethos Bridal in Edmonton. I can;t remember the name but I'll update it when I have it back. These are from yesterday's fitting at my friend's sewing studio. I'm very lucky that my seamstress will be com,ing to Mexico! This dress was basically a crazy find, the only one in the store and fir me right off the rack! We haven't actually done any alterations to it, that's just how it fits FINALLY being tall pays off
My Ring (We don't have the bands yet, I'll update when they come in from the jeweler! FI custom desgined this with the jeweler, so it took quite a long time to get it (you might say I was getting very impatient but in the end I totally understood what I was waiting for. I love this ring so mcuh, it's so ME, and to know that he chose everything about it, start to finish makes it 100% more special. He said he didn't want to just buy one at the store because it wouldn't be unique like I am

Awesome stuff, great job!
-
I'm just about to get my act together actually and share the rest I have lots lol!! Coming soon
I love love love the vintage look! I think I am using the same treasure chest as you, except mine are for invitations not the card box... Wish I would have thought about antiqueing it! So talented! What else have you come up with? -

Hey ladies! Can I get some help from those that have already been through the process?
I've recieved all of the "final" documents and I feel COMPLETELY lost. I'm not sure if it's the language barrier or what.
But, for instance choosing the BBQ menu for the palapa - how the heck does that work? She said "
Please note that for groups bigger than 15 people, we need to work with a set menu (means the same option of soup/main course for the entire group)". Ok, so this is the list I was sent - I see lots of meat choices, and then some random Entree things...Is meat not an entree? Do We choose one meat OR on entree? How is cold shrimps and entire entree? I sure hope someone can help me with this because I feel like a total dummy, but it just is not clear to me Help!!!

Wow just found this thread. Another Etown bride

I know that the Palapa for reception is only available for no extra cost in the presidential package... but it is over 800 cdn to add it on to any other package so I guess it is possible that they would charge that (I am guessing $5000 is in mxn pesos not cdn or us dollars)
You realize she's telling you Pesos, not dollars, right? So, really it's like 400 dollars. You'll get used to reading everything in pesos

For you ladies that have already gone through the process, what sort of things did they want you to start planning at the two month stage? I'm 6 weeks out and Yenizia has been very good at answering my q's so far with pricing and such. She told me last week to contact the wedding coordinator (at at different email address) to start making final choices, so I did, and now have not heard back. While I am trying my best to be patient since they're busy, part of me is also a bit nervous because it's officially "crunch" time. Do I need to stress or it is fine that they aren't getting back to me in a reasonable time frame?
