  1. Is anyone else having little kids walk down the aisle? Like maybe a flower girl and ring bearer...if so, did you play a seperate song for them and which song??
  2. Hello, I was wondering how many actual songs I should be putting on a cd to play at our wedding. How many songs should be played while people are starting to sit down and wait at ceremony, and while groom and people walk down the aisle before the bride (me) walk down the aisle....I'm just not sure if I should have 3,4 or more??
  3. Has anyone recently had a wedding at barcelo punta Cana or about to get married there? I have many questions to ask: 1) which restaurant did you pick to have reception at? 2) what kind of music did you have for walking down aisle? Reception? Did you bring music or hire dj or have live band? 3) how much does hair and makeup cost roughly for bridesmaids? 4)did you have a paid reception on beach or somewhere else besides disco? 5) what photographer did in use and roughly how much did it cost? If anyone could help with all or some of my questions it would be great! Thanks!
  4. Hello Everyone, I am having trouble deciding whether to have a legal wedding in Dominican or legally get married in Canada and then go to Dominican and have renewal of vows (although have it look like a wedding there so no one can tell the difference). I need some advice from others who are getting married in Dominican or already have been married there. I REALLY want to have a legal wedding there. However, my travel agent informs me that 90% of people get legally married before since the paperwork for translating in English is expensive and confusing. Has anyone who had a legal wedding there found this to be true? And if you legally get married in Canada, how close do you do it before you leave? I wouldnt wanna get married here and then a month later go to Dominican...the excitement would have gone down by then! I just need some advice...thanks!
  5. Hello Ladies, I have also been looking to book my wedding in Dominican March 2013 and was looking into Bavaro Punta Cana. I do not want my guests to have to pay more than 1600/person for a week and every other resort I look into is almost 2000 (for march)....but I just looked at the reviews on trip advisor for this resort and they scare me!!! I have a couple young kids coming and that is one reason I liked this resort, for the childrens pool and playground...so I hope someone replies with lots of positive things to say about this resort...I will also look into Bavara Palace and Gran Bahia principe bavaro.....
  6. For those that already had their wedding at Gran Bahia, do you have anything bad to say about the hotel or are you glad you picked that one! I am trying to book a wedding but I keep seeing negative comments for this hotel and this is the hotel I was thinking of booking with. I have some guest who are particular with the food and al la carte restaurants and was wondering what past brides comments are on this issue...as well as entertainment at night, was it ok???
  7. Hello Ladies! I was wondering if anyone knows if it is hard to make reservations for the al-la-carte restaurants? I mean, does anyone know if they have a tendancy to be full very quickly or do most guests usually get a chance to eat in the restaurants most of the trip??
  8. Hello, I am having a hard time finding people's honest opinions on these resorts so I was hoping someone could give me some good or bad feedback about these resorts. I am hoping to get married in Feb 2013 and Negril was one of my options. I heard that there is lots of things for younger people (aged 30ish) to do in Negril (Rick's cafe). My two options would be RIU Negril or RIU Palace TB. Any recommendations on which one is better for the price? Or if both arent worth going too? ANything will help. Thanks!
  9. Hello, I am hoping to be married at this hotel in Feb 2013...I have heard sooo many great things about this hotel but a couple of people told me that the beach isnt that great...does anyone know if this is true or not? I know the pools are amazing but I might have some guests that love the beach and are picky about what the beach is like....thanks for your help!
  10. Hey Kim, Im glad you wrote and said that your TA said it would be 1500 max! I am just starting out my wedding planning and am hoping to get married Feb 2013 (havent picked a date yet) and one of my choice was Gran Bahia Principe...but every time I look up the nice hotels, it comes to about 1800 or higher per person and that is way too much...so I hope its true that its only 1500 cause then I might have to choose this hotel! I would be flying out of Detroit as well!
  11. Thanks Ladies! Gran Bahia was on my list for one of the hotels I was gonna look into...1200-1400 pp sounds great! My maximum budget was 1500/pp. I am also looking to get married Feb 2013 but havent confirmed anything yet...thanks for your help! One hotel I really want is Iberostar Rose Hall Suites but I think that will be way too expensive for my guests
  12. Any suggestions on better location for a wedding, Negril or Montego Bay? I was considering Iberostar Rose Hall or Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton in Montego Bay or RIU Negril....I was wondering if anyone knew of the excursions that are close to either of them and which resort would offer more for the guests coming to the wedding to do?
  13. Hello, I recently got engaged and am looking to book a resort for my wedding in Feb 2013. I was hoping to get some good feedback as to good locations for a wedding (and not too too expensive), as well as resorts to avoid! I am hoping to be married in Jamaica, or possibly Mexico (Mayan Riviera). Any feedback would help, thanks!!!
  14. I am trying to book a destination for a wedding in Jamaica and was looking for others opinions on where is the best location to have an amazing wedding experience, but not way too pricey...any suggestion?
