ladies, expedia.com seems to be the cheapest. I looked everything up on Internet and then i called Liberty Travel - they will match or even go lower. they also can set up group bookings. I booked my "vacation week" and contacted wedding department at the same time. when i got some papers from WC, i already had my dates and flight #s.

I picked free collection - i will have only about 4- 6 people besides myself my fiance, his son and my son. we will not have private reception - not enough people and most likely we are not having cocktail party - it will be very casual.

@Ashli - don't waist you time going to Miami. this is what i did - i called wedding department (number from their website) and i asked for specific date - she took my info and emailed me a paper (formal request for the date) i faxed it back and she sent me wedding guide and contract that had to be returned in 14 days. i faxed that back and then she emailed me that the judge was confirmed. since i had her number i called her few times with questions - i guess she didn't want to be bother so she scheduled conference call.

they should send you a contract and wedding guide. all extra costs? well - if you have civil ceremony that's $500, you have cost of translating all docs into Spanish in DR embassy. - you have to pick one of the wedding collections and that's extra unless you pick the free one. - then depending on how many guests you have you might qualify for unlimited private functions or some (like cocktail hour only or reception only) - that's in the wedding guide. (private party - reception i believe is $50/ per person in free collection package or $300 per 8 people in other collections - that's my understanding) you need at lease 20 guests to have private reception and at lease 10 guests to have cocktail party.) the best thing would be to talk to WC and based on the number of people and all things you want (DJ etc) she can come up with the price. - you have to pay for photographer / video and i'm sure everytime you want to change something that is included in the collection it will be extra. hope this helps a little bit.

mine was pretty much the same - she wanted to know everything including colors of the flowers. she didn't however know the answers to some of my questions. i found online civil ceremony of one of the couples: @sunlover - where is your wedding?

good luck maybe by now (and after her site inspection) she will now more - let me know about translator. I also asked her about vows - on videos i have seen (civil ceremony) all you say i "I do". so i asked her if that can be changes to something like "repeat after me - I ..... take you .... etc. she didn't know

r and k 2012 Renee is my WC as well - she sounds like she is new - doesn't know some things. She didn't even know things about translators, since i'm having civil (legal) ceremony - it has to be in spanish. She even mentioned she was going for a site inspection today, so i'm assuming she has never been there. About the wooden aisle - she told me it was there and it's not going anywhere. She sent me few things: pictures of 5 different wedding locations, virtual tour of the resort, new wedding guide etc. good luck, eva (sobol1978)

@vinarum - maybe because i started asking her questions- he got tired and set up conference call. about the aisle.... all the pictures and videos i have seen, show wooden aisle. But all of them are from the old collection choices. the new collection pictures (free one) does not show the aisle so i asked my wedding coordinator (Renee) and she told me it will be sand. I don't really care - just want to know cause of the lenght of my dress. it is easier to walk with no shoes on the sand. I wish i could see at lease one wedding from 2012 (new collection). by the way, they asked be for 100% of the payment. i sent them my CC# last monday - they didn't charge the card yet byt somebody else from Florida had fun with my CC# - i'm pissed - had to close the account. I emailed wedding coordinator - no responds yet.

I was looking at some pictures and videos of the ceremonies and it looks like all of them took place in the same spot. The only differences were colors; i've seen white, blue and red. When i booked my wedding date i had to pick from the Colin Cowie collection. As i picked a free one, i was told i will be walking on the sand and there will be no aisle. Is this something new and the location will be different from what i ve seen so far? Any idea?

New to the forum. Wedding date 7/11/2112. Any July brides?

hi all, i'm new to the forum and thank you all for your info - it really helps. I have my wedding booked for 7/11/12 - can't wait. I looked at some of the pictures and videos from the ceremony location and it looks like it is all the same place for everybody with different colors. So far i've seen white, red and blue.
