Hey Danielle, So im getting married Nov 11, i ended up booking the Lavender Lux collection for the reception which im having on the Carribeno Terrace (rooftop). that includes decor for all the tables and flower centerpeices. We also contacted Katie from Zuniga who provides additional decoration. We added on more candles to the tables, a dance floor, lights, flags with lighting and a few other things to add to the ambiance when the sun sets. I believe we got the diamond package for the DJ and we will get a projector and screen to play pictures throughout the night. DJ also provides the speakers and the lighting system Photography and Videography we are using smile market and Im hoping we get del sol for a TTD session closer to the wedding. For the ceremony, we choose the complementary package and added hte horse and carrage, a special design canopy by Zuniga, and violin player for me walking down the isle. Im bringing with me favors and stuff to hand out during the ceremony and reception. Hope this helps.
  2. Hi ladies, Im glad to hear the october brides are being contacted by the new office. My question is... have any of you signed a contract and secured the locations with the miami office months ago? i am worried that we have to do things all over again such as the locations because of the restructuring. Should i contact the cancun office to confirm?
  3. Hey there Shan0487... I have not heard anything regarding being reassigned. We last spoke with a supervisor at the Miami office about 2 months ago who reassured us we would be contacted but had to wait since our wedding was so far off and they had to deal with the most current brides . we have about 4 months to go. I plan on reaching out 3 months before my date.
  4. Hi ladies, CONGRATS to the recent brides!!!!! I was wondering at what point I should start ordering my stuff for OOT bags. My guests are just starting to book for my wedding in November so all i can go by is the number of expected guests, im worried that by the time i actually can order a almost exact number it would be too late. Any suggestions on how far in advance to order and how much to over order as backup? I want to get customized towels, pashminas, customized deck of cards, totes, and maracas. Thanks in advance.

The wedding I attending at Aventura Spa Palace had a rehearsal, no extra charges, it was just the parents and the people who walked down the isle, bride and groom. took about 15 min and then they met their guests at the rehearsal dinner location. I think its best to coordinate this part with the wedding planner on site and probably once you get down there because Miami may mess this up.
  6. Has anyone here used the solo harp player for the cermony? I am signed up to have a soloist violin player as i walk down however i want to switch it to the harp but i am concerned with the size and if it will be heard over the wind at Tucan gazebo. I attended a wedding at aventura spa palace which had a violin soloist play and it was wonderful. thanks ladies and CONGRATS TO THOSE GETTING MARRIED THIS WEEK. BEST OF LUCK AND HAPPINESS
  7. Hi there... I wanted to release sky lanterns so bad but unfortunetly moond palace does not allow it due how close we are to the airport. If somehow you hear otherwise please let me know but so far I keep hearing no. I was considering bringing a few anyways and just doing it.
  8. I LOVE this veil but its 300 on etsy so im thinking about buying a plain veil that length and adding the flowers myself. Im going on a mission to find the silk flowers in the fashion district in NYC next week with my MOH.
  9. I think its great that they have a filtration system for the entire property; however I will not drink from the tap no matter what. I always use the bottled water you get in the room fridge just to be safe. Dont want to have any issues during my wedding/honeymoon. Congrats mrsjdh2b!!!!   10. Mca116 & Krystabab143 It def is exciting.. I have been waiting for someone to come on here and share a wedding wknd with me!!! So my coordinator was Beatriz but shes long gone, now I don’t have anyone and was told I would be contacted 60 days before the date. Before she left I had managed to finalize all the added decorations for the ceremony and the reception through Zuniga and ordered the lights/DJ/soundsystem through I think PSAV. After she left I had to finalize everything with Janina regarding the contract and the locations. When you receive your contract, make sure you look over everything!!!! We got Tucan Terrace 3pm symbolic (flying a rabbi in) 4pm Venado Terrace, 5pm Carabeno Terrace until 10:30 but we are hoping they allow us to extend for another hour. Keep calling that 877 # and demanding to speak with someone, supervisors are most helpful. To be honest, my FI has been the one making all the calls because he can sound stern when needed so I appointed him to be the mean call guy while I research everything. We had an issue where they gave away our locations and told us we had to be married in the catholic chapel which is beautiful but come on…. really???? We are having a jewish ceremony!!! He called and threatened to cancel everything and they fixed it all right away. We mailed save the dates about 8 months before 11/11 and just mailed invitations last night! We are also working through a travel agent which I recommend. I am also in the same zone as you, buying the dresses, OOT bags and such but I cant really make too many purchases since I am not sure how many are going.. we assume about 50-60 people will make it J
  11. Hi Mca1116, I am getting married at MP on sunday 11/11/12 so I'll be there for your wedding!!! To be honest, reserving my locations was the first thing I did because they seem to go quick. It was a challenge since its really hard to get a hold of anyone or to get my wedding coordinator from miami to answer emails. My fiance would call the palace resorts hotline and demand to speak to someone especially supervisors to get answers and locations. it took us about a month of frustration but we finally got everything settled with locations in a contract and signed it. I recommend you get on top of it ASAP and once its done you can relax. Since I finalized the locations I am not stressing at all and we have 6 months to go, the last thing you want to do is keep waiting and thinking about it so i say fight for it now and get it over with. We also finalized our additional decor with Katie through Zuniga and we choose the lavender luxe collection for the reception, the complimentary package with a few add ons for the ceremony (we are also doing the horse and carrage).   14. Hi there... I too was assigned beatriz and now was told that Juana would contact me... My FI called the miami office and complained and they informed him that she was just finishing up her training down in moon palace and when she returned she would give us a call just to confirm everything that was organized by Beatriz. I am not too worried as they do have our information in the computer and i have a lot of time as do you but each one of us worries on our own terms. I would give her a week and call again. They also told my FI that they are taking care of brides with upcoming wedding dates first obviously. Hope this helps
  15. No you def do not have to do OOT bags, Most people have not been to a destination wedding so when they receive such things they are amazed by it. its totally up to you.. My oot is a beach tote with beach towel (monogramed), custom deck of cards , possibly a pashmina and a printed paper of the events organized by me for the guests. You can come up with other things as well

Getting a boat to dock at Moon Palace would be amazing but i guess that would depend on the boat company as well.. do you know anyone who has done this before? my guess is the on site coordinators would know more then the miami office.. just sucks we cant actually reach them. I know about the catamaran rental from someone who used that service and loved it. Trip advisor rates it as one of the best tours... its almost like a party boat for 50 people and they have an option for open bar and food based on per person if you want. they add on bus service if you need.

  18. So we signed our contract finally and paid for our 10 day stay YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY. The contract has the time and locations of our ceremony/cocktail/reception so i will be sure to use that if god forbid they tell me i cant have the gazebo i want or private function. I still havent heard anything from our new WC since beatriz left. I will email Katie from Zuniga just to follow up and make sure we are still good since we paid a deposit. I can start planning other events now. I was wondering if anyone is doing anything special for the rehearsal dinner? I know I will have more then 30 people so it would have to be private functions. Since the wedding is sunday... my idea is to have everyone meet at the swing bar friday night and hang out. any ideas with this? Also I was thinking to rent a catamaran for 50 people that comes with bus service to the marina instead of the rehearsal dinner or for a farewell cruise.... any other ideas? I like the beach party BBQ idea but i feel like it would be way to much of a hassle to set up at MP.

Hello my fellow MP brides, so for about the past 3 months I have been reading threads and following the advice you have posted, all secretly, I felt it was about time I come clean and join in on the discussions. I was, up until recently working with Beatriz and now I am told I will be working with the on site coordator Kalena who has not returned any emails since last week to confirm my information. I have about 7 months but I just want everything to be confirmed so I can focus on other things. I have spent the past 2 months emailing back and forth with Beatriz all the add ons and package details we wanted to incorporate. I have already made a deposit to reserve the locations and decor through Zuniga. Should I be worried or they will have all this on file? In my experience it has been one thing to another working with Palace resorts. Just recently I was told I never reserved the Tucan Gazebo and they wanted to move me to the Catholic Gazebo when I informed them that I am having a Jewish ceremony WTF? after some fighting Beatriz promised it was ours and we signed the contract. Now im worried that since she is gone they may move us anyways.. what do you think? At one point we wanted to cancel and move to Dreams but decided to deal with it and stay strong. Your comments have definitly put me at ease and I relay all to my fiance. We are sticking it through as you ladies have already done so.
