  1. Hi There, Are the napkins still available? How many are there in total? Thanks! Kristen
  2. If the sale falls through, please let me know!! Cheers, Kristen
  3. I also would love to see pics of the resort photog, we're really struggling with whether we should hire someone from the outside....we've booked May 25, 2013 as our date, with the pergola, mix bar, and bamboo room- 34 people confirmed and paid, so we're getting really pumped!!!!!
  4. Wright Travel also referred me to Blue Petal Destination Weddings (if you have any Canadian guests), I highly recommend them, they've been great for us so far!
  5. Well, Ladies....we've locked in for May 2013. $1625 incl. all taxes, air transfer etc... Flying from Toronto, ON, using Air Canada Vacations. We were hoping for closer to $1500 but weren't willing to gamble and chance that the resort fills up, or the prices going up. We have 34 people in our group locked in, and about 50 who like to play "travel agent" and think they're going to find it cheaper later and then waltz in at the last minute. Any advice on how to handle that? We can't control what they do, this I know, but I just think it sucks for the people who were willing to commit from the beginning, and end up paying more.
  6. Hi Brides, Just a couple of questions (hopefully those who already married there will still check this thread!) Have any of you used the resort photog included in the pkg? We are really having a hard time deciding whether to use the one included in the pkg or bring in an outsider....pictures are really important to us, so I am just worried that the one w/ the resort will only snap the obligatory 25 pictures and not capture a lot of the candid moments....anyone have any input? Also does anyone know the answers to these questions?: Extending the reception – what are our options? Our reception is in the Bamboo Room from 6-8pm, I think. What cost is associated with extending that to midnight or something? The saxophonist/violinist/guitarist playing the ceremony- Is he only available during the ceremony, or can we use him during the cocktail hour as well? Or at the reception? We may have specific music we want for the ceremony, so can we use him at a later time, instead of during the ceremony? Is a DJ an option for the reception? We noticed it isn't included in the 2013 package anymore, but can we use a DJ instead of something else within the pkg? Example- use the DJ instead of say, the private beach dinner? Cost for slideshow during the reception? Substitutions with our package? Is it possible to move things around in the pkg- if, for example, I want to give up the couples massage, can we get a longer videographer time slot? or something like that.... Thank you everyone! ~counting down....378 days LOL...~
  7. Hi There, I am also a 2013 bride- May 25th! Our group just booked last week, from Toronto, Canada...I love this forum for planning & ideas Congrats on your day!!
  8. Hi Brides, Pilar has sent me all the menu options, including children and veg/gluten-free. If anyone would like a pdf, just send me a DM on here with your email & I will send to you. We found them really helpful in planning our website, because ppl can RSVP and select their meal option right on the site!!
  9. Chantal, have so much fun! Can't wait to see/hear all about it!!!!
  10. Hi Nikki, I know 3 people who've been to Jade over the past year and they all say it was FANTASTIC! As far as timeshares, I think you get hounded no matter where you go; we wnt to PV last yr and they didn't seem too bad on the actual resort, but when we went into Bucerias and into PV city, the ppl were everywhere. Yiou just have to be forceful but polite! It's frustrating, but usually if you tel lthem no righ toff the bat, they leave you alone...
  11. Hi Brides! So excited, we just nailed down our date with Pilar- May 25, 2013! We're doing the Pergola, the Mix Bar, and the Bamboo Room...FI and I are working on our website (wedsite.com) and are wondering if any of you can help.... 1. Can we only choose from the entrees listed in the Divine package or are all of the entrees available to be picked from any of the packages? 2. Is it a set menu, or can our guests choose from a list of options (ie. beef, or seafood, or vegetarian) 3. How many options can we offer to our guests for entrees? 4. Is there is a Vegetarian menu available as an option? 5. Is there is a childrens menu available? I am so excited, now that we've secured our date, we can really start planning! Now, to decide on my colours...
  12. Wonder if more cake is even required, dessert is included with both pkgs, right?
  13. I have also read that the Carnival (buffet) restaurant would be free, they just section off for you, and you can bring extras like a welcome sign etc...
  14. i was quoted $1508pp + taxes of approx $109, totalling $16xx.xx and change...Sunwing offers every 6th passenger for free, to a max of 4 passengers (pre-tax). They take the pre-tax amt x 4 and apply it to the group as a whole ($6032.xx) and we could disperse it however we wanted (pay for the two of us and spread out the rest etc)....a great promo, but we are still holding out for a bit more! We are hoping for around $1300pp taxes in, so we'll see how we do!! (could be dreaming LOL)
  15. eek, $48/pp....well hopefully not all of our invitees can come haha- isn't that terrible? I wonder if it's worth the initial upgrade to the Divine then anyways....we'll have to really look at & compare the 2 pkgs to see what we reallllly want! Thanks so much for all of your info, these msg boards are fantastic & are getting me really excited for planning! Kristen
  16. Hi Kimmy Sue, Can I ask- the Eternity & Divine pkgs all include meals for 25 ppl...how much extra did you have to pay for the full 50? We are booking the Divine and I am looking at a guest count of approx 50-60, and am trying to wrap my head around the overall cost! Your wedding was BEAUTIFUL, by the way!! Cheers, Kristen
  17. Hi There, We are from London, also looking for May 2013- we have spoken to iTravel (Sunwing) and also Air Canada- the Air Canada quote was RIDICULOUS. $2400/pp based on dbl occupancy!! The itravel rep was...okay- I bet we spoke to the same woman, Sue? I just connected with her last week, and she quoted $16xx.xxx so I think we'll shop around still....
  18. We have not locked in a date yet- the reservation form she sent me is asking for our flight/travel details and we don't have those yet, our travel agent said airlines don't release flight info until 12mths out as well. So, not sure what to put on the form? For us, we really don't have a specific date in mind, we just want May, preferably the 1st or 3rd week, to not overlap family members anniversaries LOL! I am thinking I might email Pilar back and ask her what to do. We are really wanting to send out our STDs in the new year as well, and being a little Type A, I don't like not having anything confirmed yet! I will email her & post what I get back! Kristen
  19. Hi Brides! We are planning on Jade for May 2013, and while it's far away, we're starting to really think about what we'd like...I am very confused by the website's info about the meal- hopefully someone can help me out! We would like the pergola for the ceremony, Blue Bar for cocktail hour. Dinner is what really confuses me! So, ok the Divine pkg covers 25 people's meals. I anticipate approx 50-60 ppl at our wedding, so how does it work? I saw the $20USD/pp set up fee, but is that if we want to rent out a restaurant? We like the Bamboo Room, so how would that work? I guess I just don't know if we have the dinner at a restaurant or in the bamboo room, are these different? what is the cost difference? Hopefully someone on this forum has held a wedding with approx the same # of guests & wouldnt mind sharing the cost details with me! As I read the website you can EITHER have a restaurant for your reception (for a private, there is an added cost) OR you can use one of the other areas, the ballroom, bamboo, etc. Is that right? THANKS LADIES!
  20. @allthelove can't wait to hear how it went-thank you for the info!! $800 for fire dancers, really? FI is really wanting them too,but that is pricey!!
  21. @Sarella we are thinking 4:00 ceremony, cocktails from 4:30-6, dinner at 6:30ish? Although I dont know- does the sun set earlier or later, depending on the time of year?
  22. Hi Brides! We are also getting married (I hope) at NOW Jade, May 2013. We haven't booked yet since it's a bit early yet,but we just lovewhat we have seen about the resort, and all the options! We are also likely getting the Divine pkg (25ppl) but will have at least 40, probably closer to 60. Hopefully some other brides can share their experiences, it's awkward asking about others' money, but since we're all virtual strangers, hopefully someone won't mind dishing out the details!! As far as the flowers, I did see this on another thread: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/61656/now-jade-riviera-cancun-wedding/30 10 boutenierres, 3 wrist corsages, 4 bridesmaid bouquets, 1 bridal bouquet and 2 centerpieces and the rental of 9 vases and a basket for only $200 USD!! NOW Jade wanted $65 for one bridesmaid bouquet?! In the end we saved close to $800 using Juliana and the flowers were so beautiful, my bridesmaids are still talking about them!! NOW Jade's florist did not like that we ventured out to get our own florist, but there is no clause saying you can't. Also, when I told Pilar the price she said "I don't blame you". Perhaps now, NOW Jade will re-evaluate their prices for flowers. Highly recommend Juliana: [email protected] Worth a shot anyway, no?
  23.
