  1. Hello! I am 99 days from my wedding and patiently awaiting a wedding coordinator to contact me about finalizing all the details. (I still probably have another month!) We are doing the Ultimate package and bringing our own photographers. We will not be doing a DJ as we will have a big reception back in the states with all of our friends and family. I am on a budget and decided to try not to double up on anything that isn't necessary unless it's included in the package deals. Hopefully we will be having dinner on the beach and we are planning on bringing an iPod dock and playing our favorite old school love/classic rock songs. After dinner if everyone is still up for partying we'll hang out at one of the bars or at the dance club at the resort. (I'm from Wisconsin - all we need is a place to belly up to the bar and the dancing will happen anywhere and everywhere.) Happy Planning!!
  2. We are not doing a legal ceremony down there, we will be picking out our own vows. (Too much pressure to write our own, but I feel we should be able to pick some out that are meaningful to us in our relationship.) My brother and my fi's sister will be doing readings - one of them will probably be the Irish Wedding Blessing. If anyone knows of a good collection of wedding vows/readings on site please share! I found this link on pinterest to wedding readings from literature... http://www.perpetualpageturner.com/2012/02/wedding-readings-from-literature.html
  3. Hi Dee, From the photos I've seen, extra lighting would be good if you're not investing in the lighting they have available. My wedding is November 8, and I know the sun sets around 5:30 that time of year. I am planning on using lanterns and LED tea lights in luminary bags to light up the dinner tables - I have the same concern!! (And a modest budget, so I will not be splurging on their lighting.) I figure the lighting will double as centerpieces and help to set the mood. Also - the plates from Dreams look amazing! I want to make sure my guests can see what they're eating
  4. Hello BeaBride, I am also getting married at DT in November! November 8th at 2 pm. I've been searching for weather information and found a helpful site. It's for Cozumel but I can't imagine Tulum would be that different. It seems like the weather averages 85 high/65 low. http://www.wunderground.com/history/station/76649/2011/11/1/MonthlyHistory.html?req_city=NA&req_state=NA&req_statename=NA I'm also interested in finding out more on each reception location. We have about 30 guests and I would love to have the Seaside Grill but I'm not sure I have enough people. El Patio looks hidden from the elements a little better yet you can still see the sea - I'm sure either would be a great choice! I've heard the chapel seats 20 people and I thought I read somewhere that they would set up chairs right outside the chapel for overflow - I'm not sure if this is the case or how this would work out. Happy Planning!!!!!
  5. I was nervous too! But not anymore.. I am lucky to have parents that frequent PVR, and they checked it out for me. They stopped in for the afternoon and seemed to get the royal treatment from everyone in the resort - including Estephania the wedding coordinator!! My mother said the place was spotless and you could practically eat off the floors - which surprised me because she can be very particular about those things. I had to remind myself that most people only want to write reviews when they have something negative to say and this place probably did have hiccups at the beginning, but you'll have that with any new resort. In case you can't tell by all the exclaimation points, I am really excited!
  6. Hello! I am getting married there 11/2/12!! I've been to Puerto Vallarta, but never a Dreams resort. I was deciding between Dreams Villamagna and Dreams Puerto Vallarta, and settled on Villamagna. I was lucky enough to have my parents in PVR recently and they were more than willing to check out both places for me - Villamagna won by a landslide! All of the amazing photos I come across seem to be from weddings at the PV location so I was a bit surprised when I heard Villamagna had better service, cleaner facilities and was at a better price point! They were certain our guests would be blown away by the hospitality and attention to detail. It seems as if this thread has died down but I would love to see some photos from other Dreams VM weddings! My wedding is next November and we are expecting about 45 guests. We are planning on having the cermony on the preferred beach area with a rooftop reception! The free wedding package is tempting, but we've decided on the Ultimate wedding package to make sure our guests know their trip to Mexico to support our marriage is appreciated. I would love to hear from any Dreams VM bride! Happy Wedding Planning!
