  3. For brides who have had their reception on the central garden - how did you find walking on the grass in heels? Did your heels sink into the dirt?
  4. Thanks KaraKristine! I actually complained to the supervisor, Patty Romero. She gave me a call and told me Ana (who I requested) was booked for the month of my wedding. She did offer to kind of oversee my current WC's job though. She said I could CC her on all of our messages so that they could both help me out. After that conversation, I sent both of them a message with my remaining questions that never got answered. My WC responded to me in 12 hours - go figure. What I was really astonished by though, was that my WC had the audacity to straight out lie. When Patty came to me, she told me that Elsa, my coordinator told her we've been talking on the phone and that's why there are no responses for a month at a time. I have never spoken to this lady on the phone in my life. I probably shouldn't have stayed with her, but I figured if her supervisor is watching over her shoulder, she'll do a better job. Thanks for your help!
  5. Is there any way to change coordinators? My WC is Elsa Torres and she usually takes a month (literally) to respond to my question. I have asked her the same question maybe 5 times now and she never directly answers my question. I first started asking her about a larger dance floor in October, and I still don't have an answer from her! Keep in mind, this is practically the only thing I've been asking her about. At first I wasn't freaking out because my wedding is quite a ways away, but this service is just atrocious. Just curious if anyone has had success in changing coordinators. Thanks in advance!
  6. Another question for the ladies have been to the resort - I was wondering if it would be ok to have hair down. I know most people do their hair up because of the wind factor, but I hate my hair up. Do you think it will get tangled/hot mess-y if I keep it down? Thanks ladies!
  7. Congrats! We decided on The Royal PDC as well! Our wedding will be about a month after yours, in July 2012. Have you tried looking at the thread titled: ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions It is almost 900 pages long, but EXTREMELY helpful! From what I remember reading (I've only gone through 780-890s), Asiana was a really popular restaurant. Hope that helps! Happy planning!!!
  8. Just curious if you ladies have ever had a guest get their rooms comped for teaching activity classes? Two of my bridesmaid are official instructors for yoga and Zumba and told me that some resorts will pay for your room if you agree to teach x number of classes. Does The Royal PDC even have these types of classes or anywhere to facilitate them?
  9. Yup, it is $350, but Patricia (I think she is the initial WC you get before you sign a contract) told me if they stay at the resort, you get 10 or 20% off of that fee, I can't remember. I'm going to try to get around that fee as much as possible though - my photographer is a "wedding guest" staying at the resort taking pictures... ? hope it works!
  10. So sorry to hear!!! That must be devastating, but like Kelly said, keep your chin up! You can't control everything, but as long as you and hubby are married at the end of the day, that's all that matters, right? Also, side note...just wanted to introduce myself. I found this site/forum a week ago and have been on it non-stop. It has been EXTREMELY helpful in helping me choose my resort AND travel agent and I just put my security deposit down today! :) I will definitely be asking all of you Royal brides for help throughout this next year! <3!
