  1. Thanks xbubbix! Just for peace of mind, I ordered with both designer grade fabric and craftsmanship. They quoted me $620 including the shipping. Shipping cost a bit, doesn't it? But the original I tried on at the shop was $2500, and this is before getting rid of the train, etc. I will keep posting how things go with Jasmine's Bridal. Kittyinheels
  2. Hi everyone, I am thinking of ordering this dress by Impression Bridal through Jasmine's Bridal. I am thinking of using a designer grade fabric, but unsure about using designer grade craftsmanship. I am getting a quote soon. Can someone let me know of their experience in using premium/designer grade fabric and craftsmanship by Jasmin's Bridal? Also, this fabric is supposed to be chiffon, but when I tried it on, it felt more like silk (it's quite thick, dense and heavy, but very soft). I dont' know how to describe that to them, has anyone had chiffon fabric that is not light and fluffy like the one I tried on in this dress? Thanks!
  3. I just can't get over the fact that this dress cost you less than $200! The train is absolutely amazing, and I love the colour and fabric of the dress. You look great in it too. KittyInHeels
  4. I think women, especially on their wedding day, look beautiful and dazzling regardless of their sizes. And husbands think they are wonderful, and that's the main thing.
  5. Do you have like a reciept from DHGate or something in writing from them that confirms that you had a deal of free shipping? I'd contact DH Gate. My normal practice is to confirm everything in writing before I pay. So I might write something like, "As agreed, I will send $135.70 for the dress and the shipping should be free as was advertised. Once I get the conformation email, I will pay." If they don't reply confirming the details of the purchase, shipping and cost, I wouldn't send them money. KittyInHeels
  6. Hi, I got an email from gianinarbridal today after I complained about the belt and the veil. I paid $30 for the veil and $20 for the belt and $25 for shipping (so total of $75). They said that they will refund me $45 and I can keep all the products. This actually sounds pretty good to me, so I accepted (I think they didn't spend much time on labour and money to get the fabrics to make the belt and the veil so they might have thought it's easier to just make me go quiet by giving me refund). So I got a belt (which I need to sew them together myself) and a veil (which I need to trim and fix myself) for $30. All in all, that's not too bad (I am starting to like the veil), but I still won't buy a dress from them, especially when they quoted me $359. Jasmine's Bridal quoted $400 for the standard grade dress I want with various upgrade options (all the way to $800 if I used both designer grade materials and craftsmen!). They certainly look and act more professional, seem to use better quality materials and workers and there seems to be better promises and guarantee. But not sure if I want to upgrade to pay $800 for a dress bought online... Has anyone bought from Jasmine's Bridal with premimum grade and deisgner grade? Please let me know of your experiences. 7. The dressmaker I asked to make my lace dress also put beads. At least for my dress, I think they did that to hide the fact that the lace wasn't of high quality...
  8. Hi all, I just got a belt/sash and a veil from gianinarbridal. All I can say is that I won't buy anything from them again. I ordered a belt/sash which all the belt parts weren't even sewn together. What were they thinking? The veil was of low quality material and the lace trimming had threads coming out of it plus veil fabric wasn't properly trimmed. The price they charged is a lot more compared to other dress makers (and they do poorer job). Their communication is very slow too, they initially said that the belt and the veil would be ready in 5 days. It took more than a month! If I didn't nag them, it would have taken them longer! Maybe just bad luck, but I can't recommend gianinarbridal to other people.
  9. I don't know why my photos didn't come up properly. Can someone please tell me how to attach pics? KittyInHeels
  10. Hi guys, I've been secretly stalking this thread for a while now. I finally decided to join! I'd like to share my personal experience with LandyBridal or Landy Bridal. I fell deeply in love with this Erato dress by Elie Saab. I asked Landy Bridal to make it for me for Aus $330 including the postage (through ebay). I asked them to shorten the train so that it is long enough to just touch the floor (not dragging) and I asked them to add lace trimming around the hemline (not straight). I also asked them to not make the v-neckline so low like in the picture. Landy Bridal was always prompt in replying to all my questions and requests. I wasn't too sure whether they were planning to put any beads (I didn't want beads, I wanted the dress to look vintage and simple), so I asked them to not put any beads about a week and a half later. When I asked them to not put beads on the dress, they were quite insistant that the dress would look better with beads and this is how they always made the dress. I got the feeling that they had already put the beads on the dress and they didn't want to change it, which could be partially my fault for not specifying, so in the end, I said okay to beads. I thought beads might look nice. I got the dress quite quickly (after about a month). I didn't like how they didn't send me the photos before they posted it even though I requested it. Well...the dress...is okay...have bra cups and a corset like thingy inside, but there are some things I don't like. 1) The dress is too long. I wore 3cm heels while measuring, but this dress is still slightly too long even with 10cm heels, and I don't want to look like a giantess as my boyfriend is not super tall. I don't want to walk around on the day with really high heels either, I may trip and feel tired! 2) The v-neckline is too high. I measured the hollow of my neck to v-neck as 12cm, but this one is more like 9cm. This is covering my chest area too much. I made sure that my measurement was correct. 3) They put beads all over the dress, not just under mid-bust area. I initially thought these beads made the dress pretty, but more I look at it, I became worried that these beads and sequins make the dress look a bit cheap. But this could be me being paranoid. The way they sewn the beads was not so good, many of the beads are loose and threads are coming out, but this is hardly noticable. The worst thing about these beads is that it makes altering very difficult. 4) Little threads are coming out. Well, this is not a big issue as I can fix it. 5) The lace itself is not very good in quality, I guess this is why they had to put beads on to make them look a bit nicer. The beads did help here. Well, I complained, and they offered me $50 refund, and that seemed like all they were prepared to give me, so I said yes, thinking I could get the length and the neckline altered here, and the dress is still a good deal for the price. But the real problem was when tailors here said that the dress is too hard/expensive to alter. Because the hemline has lace trimming and beads, they have to take off the lace trimming and beads, cut the hemline, then have to sew back lace trimming and beads, which will cost me more than the dress. The same problem with the neckline. They have to take all the beads off before they can do anything, and this will cost me a lot. It's a shame, because it is generally a nice dress, I just wanted a bit shorter with lower neckline. I generally think that Landy Bridal is ok, have good service and they make nice dresses, just a bit unfortunate with the measurements. I am selling this dress on ebay with the hope that I can get some money back. Landy Bridal offered me to remake the dress with discounted price, but I still have heaps of time, so I may look for another seller. I inquired gianinarbridal. Does anyone have experience with them? I ordered a belt and a veil from them a while ago. Getting them next week.
