  1. So I spoke to Carolina and they are going to be charging me the $500. I explained that she is not a local photographer and she pretty much said to bad. I guess I shouldn't have told her that she was the photographer and said one of my wedding guests were. Im sure she wouldnt have noticed the differece

Please kee in mind that some of the information may be a little old as I have been planning since begining of 2011. I will post picts after our wedding and let you know about anything that may change when you actually get there. 32 days!!!

  4. Jenn963, Of course I will send you all the pictures I have. I dont believe I have pictures of the restaraunts but I will check. I checked out a lot of pictures on tripadvisor. Carolina did not say one thing about charging $500 to bring in an outside photographer. She told me $60 for daytime and $60 for after 6:00pm. So ours is a total of $120. Would you like me to email you the email she sent me in regards to brining in Eva Hadhazy Photography?

We booked the Symbolic ceremony at 4:00pm that is $690 6:00 dinner (which we pick the resteraunt upon arrival) The $550 Beach Party + $15 per person open bar, you do have to have a min amount of people in order to have the beach party And for photgraphy we pciked Eva Hadhazy from Hadhazy Photography in Ottawa. She does amazing work and is in Punta Cana ALL the time. It was $1650, this includes 2000+ images on cd. She has a ton of different packages though, We do have to pay the resort $60 until 6:00pm then $60 until 2:00am as she is at our resort from 11:00am until 2:00am taking photos, so a total of $120 on top of her fee but I feel like she is totally worth it. I was able to book all of this within 6 months of my wedding date by being really annoying lol Carolina said that I wasnt able to book anything Until January 2013 and our wedding was in March 2013 but I did email, email, email and email asking to book and she finally caved. If any body needs any extra info I am always happy to help as I know how awful it is when you wait two days and only receieve a two word answer from her. I have a ton of emails with extras, pictures of locations for ceremony and reception, the beach party, costs for all of the different wedding ceremony packages...   6. We actually had to change our date from April 16th as our flights were sold out so we are now planned for March 23, 2013 at 4:00pm, 6:00pm dinner and the 8:00pm beach party!
  7. So excited!! Just under 2 months to go! Everything is booked! Nothing left to do, leaving it all in the hands of Carolina! Wish us luck!

Hi Elektrokitty, In you post you had stated: Venue and whether it's private vs non-private dinner comes at a cost and depends on the number of people in your party I was told that if its non-private dinner that it is included in the wedding package. Is this going to be a extra cost when we get there? Thanks Jen

  10. Perfect, thanks for the info. I think we will pay the extra for the open bar. It does start to add up since we do have 50 people booked. I'm glad I have an opinion of someone who has done it. Jen
  11. Hi elektrokitty! Congratulations on your wedding! Sounds like everything was perfect. I do have a question for you. I read previous threads on here and they said when having the private beach party not to pay the extra for the open bar for $12pp. They said that a bar was close enough for people to get drinks. Is this true? or would you recommend paying the extra. They also had said that they paid the extra and barely had any service and people were getting their own drinks anyways. Thanks!
  12. Congrats!!! Thats SO exciting! We are booked for April 16th, 2013!!! I was wondering, are you doing the beach party option? If so, were you allowed to book already? I wanted to book just in case there were other weddings on my date that also wanted to beach party. I spoke to Carolina but she said to wait until January to book our dinner and dance party. I thought that sure was a ways away and I'm sure there are other brides who will also want the same restaurant or dance party as us. Thanks for the info!

  16. Are you home? What did you decide? I really loved the Majestic Elegance when I viewed over Christmas 2011. My other choice was the Grand Palladium but we didn't have time to view the resort. If you were picking between the two which would you pick? We also viewed the Iberostar Bavaro but once we were then and seen the Iberostar Grand I wanted that one lol! Way out of our price range but absolutely beautiful! Thanks!!!
  17. I am a 2013 bride! It took me forever to find a thread like this. We are planning a wedding in April 2013 in the DR. Is there any advice between the Majestic Elegance and the Grand Palladium. I heard that the Majestic Elegance was to expensive for what they offer and that the Grand Palladium gives you a base price but then there are alot of "extras" that end up costing you way more. We views the Majestic Elegance when were in the DR over Christmas 2011 and fell in love. It is a bit pricier than the Grand Palladium. Any advice would be awesome!!

  19. I am planning our wedding in Punta Cana, DR for next April 2013. Is there any brides on here who have some insight for me on either resort! I have read quite a few threads on here but they are from a few years ago. Any information on these resorts would be very helpful! Thanks!!!
