  1. I love the luggage idea and was going to do that myself so it was a favor/seating card in one! Where did you find them at? flip flops are a darling idea. I saw it on Michaels.com website but it didn't have a price attached...
  2. Hi all! I'm starting to look at hair/makeup options for me and my bridesmaids and am having a bit of sticker shock! Has anyone else decided on hair/makeup options? Are you going with the resort salon or bringing someone in? I don't think the resort does makeup and I really want to have that done for at least myself. Let me know your thoughts
  3. hi ztag! I think we can all relate to how stressful the resort booking process can be. I went back and forth many times but ultimately decided on the Del Mar. A few reasons: 1. I LOVE the open air venue. Del Mar brides have first choice of that venue and it was very important to us. I've heard mixed reviews if Lindo brides can book the Del Mar restaurant. I think it depends if it's available on your day. 2. The rooms are much less expensive for our guests at the Del Mar. We want to encourage as many friends/family as possible to join, so we went with this option. If some people want a nicer resort - they can upgrade to the Lindo and we have rates secured for them. At the end of the day, knowing our group of friends we'll spend all our time at the pool having fun - so a nicer room isn't as important for us. In regards to being able to have unlimited "a la carte restaurants" (the other difference with Del Mar) - we have people coming in every night of the week and predict we'll just go with a big group to the buffet or try to get extra reservations when we're there. 3. The only two wedding ceremony options are the gazebo and beach. I originally wanted to gazebo because it's more private - but it's fairly small and we're predicting a larger wedding guest group. We'll probably end up at the beach - but my sister's fiance is in charge or moving ALL swimsuit beach goers away from the site so they aren't in pictures (i keep having nightmares about an old man in a speedo in the background of every picture). 4. there is a separate wedding planner for each resort. once you book they've been very quick to respond (surprising for Mexico) Overall i don't think you can go wrong with any of the Iberostar resorts. For us it came down to our own budget and trying to be mindful of our guests. We know we can have fun anywhere so why spend the extra money for the grand. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. I booked DJDoremixx but am a bit worried because he's already booked so I have someone else from his company. I'm hoping since its the same music selection that's all that matters!! I've heard mixed reviews on resort photographers... And pictures are so important to me... We are sucking it up and paying for an outside vendor (although that fee kills me). We're using Dean Sanderson and are very excited about him. He recently moved to cancun full time from Canada and love his work. Plus we found him to be more reasonable price wise. Who are you using? Next up is figuring out hair/makeup. Any ideas?!?! Oh and my name is amy btw
  5. Hi Lindsey. I'm getting married at the Del Mar on November 9, 2012!!!! I haven't been to see the resort yet, but it seemed to be the most reasonably priced for guests. Plus I love the outside open air restaurant for the reception. Have you decided on your details yet? I've sent my save the dates and people are starting to book. I think predicting how many people will actually end is the hardest part. I've booked the DJ and photographer. I'm now trying to decide what to do for hair/makeup. How's your planning coming along?!?!
  6. Hi fellow November 2012 brides! My name is Amy and I'm getting married November 9 at Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar. We just sent out our save the dates (passports that received overwhelming praise - I'll try to post a picture later) and I found my dress I'm happy to see there are other brides getting married in November. Maybe we're ahead of the curve by starting our own group. Just thought I'd say hi and I look forward to planning virtually with you. Nikki - good luck on your surgery
  7. Hi fellow brides to be! My fiance and I just decided on a Destination Wedding in the Rivera Maya. We're anxiously awaiting the news from our TA to confirm Nov 9, 2012 at Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar. After much research, it seems to be the best of both worlds ... gorgeous open air reception at a more affordable price for guests. I've already found this site amazingly helpful and I look forward to sharing the once in a lifetime experience of planning a destination wedding with you all Happy Planning!
